I was just about to post to say sorry for starting the July thread and then disappearing, then saw that it was all full up! So I thought I would start us a new one.

Hello to all the many many ladies that have joined the July club - it's lovely to see so many of us here. I've been trying to read back through all the old posts, but there are so many, that's partly why it's taken me so long to get back! Have also been having some personal troubles, but that's another story.

Anyway, I'm 12 weeks today and slightly looking forward to my scan on Christmas Eve, but also nervous in case it's not good news. I'm looking forward to catching up with you all again and hearing how you and your bumps are going.

OP posts:

Glad you have finally been refered cara and hopefully your appointment will follow shortly. It has missed my back, but the hips are all sore and 'weird' still. I've had 2 rounds of accupunture so far and another go on Tuesday. I am really sore today because my SIL is here to stay and I did far too much tidying etc this morning! It has happened a few times now and keep telling myself to remember to break often. Then forgetting.
Lovely news on your scan! You were so right in saying about the sex - I get quite frustrated by people assuming it is to tell you what flavour the baby is. I was mildly tempted, but I would def have let it slip with the way my brain is at the mo!

Aw that is a shame you were taken into the same room lady, but as cara said, at least you have a nice memory to take back from it this time xxx

Wow sues that is some way to get your OH back!Is there a less drastic way you could try other than jumping off the wardrobe Wink Good that all is well although I can identify with not remembering you're expecting.

Chin up nicola, we are all here, virtually, for a vent whenever needed xxx

Congratulations Falling, must be a big relief for you Smile

Omg my bitch is in season and driving me mad just now! She is desperately encouraging the dog (Fraoch), who is very obliging even though he has been snipped...

Have a lovely weekend all x

nicolamumof3 · 05/03/2011 19:09

evening all, feel alot brighter despite a dreadful migraine.

i think feeling rough and being sick nearly every day since november is now taking its toll.

to cheer myself up i went shopping yesterday, i bought two teeny dresses, felt v.strange after years of boy shopping. I normally love newborns in sleepsuits not little outfits but im struggling to find girly ones i like as not so keen on pastel colours. Had a delivery from boden as well this morning. So doing well on my baby girl shopping atm. Tho keep having doubtst they've made a mistake of course.

my pgp is just starting now, and i feel so heavy and uncomfortable walking or standing for anything more than a few minutes so deciding tomorrow im going shopping for the first time ever for huge support pants!!

emmywoo · 05/03/2011 20:56

Hi cara, I feel the same in regards to back pain. I suffered really badly with SPD and I am starting to get really bad twinges in lower back and it is agony if I turn around awkardly, stand for more than 10mins, sit down etc. I have my scan next week so will hopefully get to see midwife and speak to them
I am 20wks on Monday and still no movement so getting slightly anxious.
xx

cara2244 · 05/03/2011 23:18

Fraochsmum my bitch is in season too! And constantly hassling our castrated male, who isn't that interested as he's not well. =The cleaning up is doing my head in too...thankfully it didn't fall within the first trimester - I don't think I could have dealt with cleaning up blood (sorry if TMI non dog owners!) when I had morning sickness and blood filled nightmares. Oh the joys.

emmywoo you'll feel better once you've had the scan as you can see the baby move. I could feel little flutters when I was lying on the bed and seeing it on the screen. That wait for the scan is so nerveracking!

nicola sick every day, now that's not good, I had it for 2 months and that was bad enough. I also am finding the thought of baby girl shopping weird, and I only have 1 boy. Is Boden good? I have a voucher for money off.
just ordered a Dream Genii...anything for a bit of extra comfort at the moment. I discovered today that if I rest loads then the hip/back pain improves...but how to do that in everyday life with a busy job and a 2 year old?!?

confuddledDOTcom · 05/03/2011 23:24

Evening everyone.

Glad to hear you're OK LadyGaGa.

Eglu, it's interesting, people who sell you wraps will say to tuck in, but if you look on sites for making your own they usually say outside. It does make a big difference as it's hard to get it tight enough which means the weight is carried on your shoulders rather than being distributed. Also means the baby is worn a lot lower and doesn't feel as secure. Not too obvious with a newborn but pretty quickly becomes difficult.

Badgerwife, haven't stopped lactating!

JimmyChoo17, I'm getting a lot of pushing and stretching going on above the belly button, I'm 22 weeks on Monday. Finding my food is fighting for space at the moment and I feel stuffed quickly.

cara2244, I have long term PGP and they've just decided fibromyalgia on top, definitely been getting worse the last few weeks. I hope you get seen soon, don't be surprised if it's more a lesson in how to adapt than actual physio as that's becoming the norm now, possibly crutches and/or belts if you're struggling too much.

Had a nice relaxing couple of days and taken out for dinner twice. I had my big 0 birthday yesterday, spent the day in bed as the girls were both at school for a full day for the first time in two weeks then we went out when they got back we went for dinner with my parents, not my OH as he was working away. Then today OH looked after the girls and I slept again, we were going to go out but I was so tired I decided I'd rather rest whilst he played with the girls than go out. Then he took us out for dinner late afternoon. I got three maternity/ nursing tops from my parents and whilst we were out last night a friend asked what I'd got so my eldest was telling him, she grabs the side of the top I was wearing and said "It's got holes, so the baby can have milk, too!" as she opens my top up!

highheelsandequations · 06/03/2011 13:34

Afternoon all, having a lazy day here after gave up my Saturday yesterday to go to a conference. Was very good but being out from 7.30am to 6pm after a long week was a little bit too much. So am trying to ignore all the jobs that need doing and enjoy the day off before back to work. Busiest 4 weeks of term coming up and not looking forward to them!

Am starting to feel really achy and have very heavy legs at the end of the days just now. Is this just another syptom I should expect or is there anything that might help?

Hope everyone's having a good weekend.

Happy birthday for yesterday confuddled, have a Brew and a Biscuit and some St Davids

nicolamumof3 · 06/03/2011 17:33

hello everyone!

seem to have done well on my pink shopping! Got more stuff today in m&s. Little Green Radicals is doing stuff for m&s so got little romper and leggings and some cute tops. Still no sleepsuits tho hmmm.

i need a support band i feel so heavy 'down below' my spd def starting up now.

i got a dream genii last week cara, its not a 100pc sleep guarantee but a huge improvement. Really helps. Am pleased i got it.

Eglu · 06/03/2011 21:18

Ooh Nicola, pink stuff!! I just can't bring myself to buy any yet. Most of my newborn stuff is white anyway so don't really need anything. I will confess to surfing the web looking at stuff on M&S and Next. I may buy a couple of things before she arrives, but I'm trying to be good.

Having never known the sex before I'm not used to buying stuff before the birth.

nicolamumof3 · 06/03/2011 21:25

it certainly took me a few days to get going i must say!! i have white sleepsuits too from the boys that i can use in hospital and first few days. I do like them in white.

confuddledDOTcom · 07/03/2011 01:21

Thank you HighHeels! I've been finding my one leg has become so heavy it feels like I'm dragging a prosthetic, if I try and bend it to walk it really hurts. I know I look weird when I walk, just glad the crutches make me walk somewhere near normal!

I started getting BH today! First was during a nursing session and was quite intense. I was glad to be on my own or they'd be dragging me off to hospital! Had another couple quite close together this evening. Nothing since though.

Scared Mum earlier because there was a lot of blood in the toilet, I couldn't even remember using that toilet! Turns out it's because I've been having postnasal nose bleeds so spitting out a lot of blood and it hasn't flushed away for some reason Blush

buttonmoon78 · 07/03/2011 10:39

You sound a bit brighter now Nicola? All that sickness and all those migraines is enough to get anyone down really.

I'm feeling good at the moment. Bump beginning to look impressive rather than fat. No sign of SPD (yet) and my back is hurting no more than it does normally so I'm really pleased. Scan a week on Thursday so hoping the time will go quickly!

I think 'July 2011 - into the second half' suits us well. Do you reckon we can treat this like a rugby match and have drinks and pies about now then? Grin

Badgerwife · 07/03/2011 13:04

Confuddled Blush at the nosebleeds; I did the same to DH, he was not impressed...

Went to Mothercare for the first time ever on Saturday and had a very educational chat about pushchairs, buggies and car seats. DH looked distinctively overwhelmed lol! It felt like we were in there 15 minutes, but it was over an hour, no wonder I felt utterly shattered afterwards. Had a huge steak to recover Smile

Jimmychoo I feel the same as you with insides feeling weird. It feels a bit like a swarm of worms or jellyfish; a bit iffy really, but I think it's the baby moving against my organs, I must have a lot of water in there.

sues1974 · 07/03/2011 16:43

Afternoon all,
had my scan this morning and it all went really well. Baby had 2 kidneys (very important to me with only being born with 1 small one resulting in dialysis at 14 and transplant at 16). good strong heart too and we found out we are having another little boy. Im pleased but feel slightly disappointed that i will never get to experience what its like to have a girl as we dont intend to have anymore. At the same time i do feel it was meant to be as if it was a girl then she might of had health problems as the girls im my family have so im just pleased that the baby is fine. Think hubby was slightly disappointed but again is happy to be having another healthy boy.

Sonographer was lovely and baby had his 2 middle fingers down so looked like he was rocking out, either that or giving the devil sign as a sign of what im in for - 2 little devils causing Mummy havoc, lol.
suz xx

buttonmoon78 · 07/03/2011 16:51

Congratulations Suz! Of course your boys are going to create havoc for you. They'll be the diabolical duo or the dream team depending on which day of the week it is!

Eglu · 07/03/2011 17:04

Buttonmoon I like the idea of pies and drinks [greedy pig emoticon] Grin

Congrats on the scan Sues, it is lovely to have the reassurance.

I'm getting sick of my boobs growing. Now my 32GG are feeling tight. I'm going to topple over from the weight if they keep growing.

I think we may have a name for our DD though. I'm not getting my favourite name, but am getting it as a middle name. She will hopefully be Phoebe Clementine.

nicolamumof3 · 07/03/2011 17:25

congrats sues on the scan, i felt disappointed initally at not having another boy, i do adore my boys. Its hard to adjust mentally i think as i always imagine the baby as a little person very quickly and just automatically referred to this bump as a boy. But im coming round to the pink in a big way now!! Think she will be spoilt little missy.

Eglu adore the name! I love Clementine but DH didn't like it grrr. We quite like Emilia but not settled yet, We were going to have Sasha for a boy, which would have raised alot of eyebrows as always thought of as a girls name. Phoebe Clementine is so pretty.

Eglu · 07/03/2011 17:39

I wanted Clementine as the first name but DH doesn't like it so it was a huge step to get him to agree to it as a middle name.

I like Emilia, but have a niece called Amelia. Grin

MissLolita · 07/03/2011 17:59

Congratulations Suz!

Eglu how exciting to have a name! Phoebe Clementine is gorgeous! Emilia has always been one of my favourite names but my name is shortened by everyone to Millie and dh says that it would be silly to have a child called the same thing - I suppose he has a point... Names are causing some serious debate at home. Dh seems to favour names that i think are chavvy or ones that I think sound crashingly middle class. He says the names that I like are horrible or remind him of ex-girlfriends. The baby name book did not help at all and we're one of the last childless couples in our group of friends and with our extended family a lot of the popular names have already been used. I know it doesn't stop you from using a name just because someone else has it but quite often we associate the name with the person now.
Anyone else out there decided on a name?

confuddledDOTcom · 07/03/2011 18:37

Getting really fed up of the BH now. I've been in one for the lat 20 minutes, if it doesn't stop soon we're going to have to look at calling triage :( even my dad could see I was having it. It's not too painful, very tight, hurts around the edges and takes my breath away, not to mention the pain it causes in my back.

I really want OH home now, if something happens he's so far away he might not get back in time to be with me. I'm not sure anything will happen this week, it's not quite that bad I think.

Still getting nose bleeds, had about four today my top is covered in blood (glad I stayed in my PJs!)

Spoke with physio today and they're going to get equipment hire to contact me because I need new crutches, the feet are worn out and the caps on the handles have fallen out which makes them noisy when I walk. Can't believe how excited I feel about new crutches!

buttonmoon78 · 07/03/2011 18:49

Small things confuddled, small things make us happy! I hope things don't progress and you stay with us for at least a while longer. It must be really hard being in such a state of anticipation all the time.

While we're on the small things subject might I draw your attention to an offer ladies? I was at Tesco a minute ago and they have Original Source lavender bubble bath on BOGOF (therefore 2 for £2). Lavender (as we all know) is excellent to help you sleep now, but is also great for healing after the birth if there are any tears etc. If you turn up at my Tesco you won't get any as I've bought the lot Blush but anywhere else should be fine! Grin

highheelsandequations · 07/03/2011 19:00

Sues congrats on the scan.

I've been having bizarre pains the past couple of days, don't last for long but make me catch my breath. Best description I can come up with is it feels like someone's pinching the inside of my belly button. Anyone else experienced/experiencing anything similar? DP managed to phone the midwife today (I can never get time to phone at work) and she said it's probably nothing to worry about but if I wanted to move my 24 week appointment forward I could. Only got 2 weeks to wait for it so think I'll just wait and see what happens unless they get worse. Any thoughts?

Want2bSupermum · 07/03/2011 19:27

Hello everyone! Ended up leaving work early on Saturday as the climate control was switched off in the office. I started to feel faint and lasted about 20mins before I packed up and left.

It is interesting to hear others are also having problems sleeping, breathing and with back pain. I changed chiropractor and had my first appointment last week with the pregnancy specialist. Worked wonders for the back but only lasted 4 days. I have two appointments this week and hope the results last longer.

The breathing thing scared me. I was doing laundry yesterday and I got half way up the stairs and I had to sit down. DH heard me sit down and thought something was wrong. He insisted we call the obn because it is very unlike me to be out of breath so easily and he said I looked very flushed with a light sweat on my face. The obn calmed DH down and told us it was normal as the baby is now pushing against the diaphram. DH is away on business a lot and I would feel like a prized idiot if I called up a friend and asked them to help me carry laundry up from the basement. I have already purchased a new hoover because the canister one was giving me heartburn. I found the upright one much easier on my back too.

confuddledDOTcom · 07/03/2011 20:16

button, I think at the moment I need little things to make me happy! I feel fed up at the moment.

highheels, I get that even when I'm not pregnant. I describe as though my belly button has been tied to me inside somewhere too tight so it pulls if I stretch myself up too much (like standing or sitting up too straight) I've never quite worked out what it is though. My mum and sister get it too.

Want2bSupermum, that's why I'm told they don't do physio for PGP anymore, it just doesn't last very long.

This is probably the last post, so I'm hoping someone has started a new thread in the time I've taken to post this.

confuddledDOTcom · 07/03/2011 20:22

Not the most imaginative title but it'll last us!

See you over there!

nicolamumof3 · 07/03/2011 20:22
