Thanks supersunny and nurse

I'm sure it's all fine. I feel tired and occasionally nauseous but not too bad at all. I think it's just that I am LITTLE MISS IMPATIENT and I am sick of waiting! Don't have a bump or anything and it's so weird to think there's actually a little person the size of a lemon in there ... Xmas Grin
I am not doing well at the not worrying thing Xmas Wink

Sorry you're so sick tabitha and happy birthday sarah!

jasmine51 · 07/12/2010 14:05

TTL a lemon? is that right? wow, thats freaky, I thought it was still bean sized (checks ruler)gosh yes...10mm is quite a lemon (lays down feeling faint).

I had my first 'just shoot me now' moment this morning. An over enthusiastic neighbour came over to ask how I am (nice so far), wanted her DD to listen to my bump to see if she could hear anything...get off me! Then spent a hour giving me advice on everything from eating ginger(yeah yeah) to drinking lots (really? I hadnt worked that one out), then telling me in precise detail how she coped with her pg (rich husband paid for every tiny treat, scan and comfort). Her finale was to say how excited she is that we are going to be able to share stories, be coffee morning buddies (errr, some of us have to go back to work...)and she will bring some of DDs old clothes round at the end of the week...arrrrgh...go away, leave me alone! I'm planning revenge already...early baby sitting duties to the max...that'll dampen her enthusism Wink

takethatlady · 07/12/2010 14:48

Well according to most things I read last week it was a lime or a plum so I just upgraded to a lemon Xmas Grin

But babycentre.co.uk says it's 4cm long at 11 weeks ... now I think about it, that's not really a lemon. Maybe that's why I haven't got a big lemon-shaped bump Xmas Blush Xmas Confused

Still, 4cm is bigger than a bean!

takethatlady · 07/12/2010 14:51

PS jasmine your neighbour sounds like hell. Mine is a quite freaky locum GP so I'm dreading her finding out. When we put our house on the market a year ago she brought round her two children (about 5 and 8) crying because we hadn't told them before we put the house up for sale, and stood on the doorstep asking us why Hmm

Can't believe people touch you without asking - or, for that matter, ask to touch you! I am NOT looking forward to that...

Reckon you should hit her with some morning sickness - those babysicking duties are still a long way away...

NoMoreSnowPlease · 07/12/2010 15:01

Def not an ear infection here. went and lay down in bed and my ears cleared up straight away. I had this with DS in 2nd trimester and have been having it with this one for a couple of weeks, but today was really bad. I can only assume the hormones make my inner ear go a bit odd.

Of course it's not helped that we still have no running water. At least a plumber has arrived!

It's good to hear there have been some more happy scans. Looking forwards to reading more good news.

PS TTL MS easing is perfectly okay at this point of upduffedness. As is occassionally throwing up dinner. I threw up beef sausage last night. It wasn't nice. I far prefer throwing up things like Coco Pops or banana! Grin

jasmine51 · 07/12/2010 15:10

NoMore Know what you mean about sausages. Toast is alright, ribena is quite entertaining...but beetroot can get a great reaction from any witnesses, try it for effect!

TTL 4cm? Mine measured 8.5 on Saturday...am I having a melon? (cue pg lady competition...my fetus is bigger than yours..)

Neighbour just texted the numbers of her private MW and a friend of theirs who is Consultant Paediatrician....thanks, but I guess thats what comes from living in a village of multi million £ houses...when mine is just one of the labourers cottages!

NoMoreSnowPlease · 07/12/2010 15:26

jas I got a bit of a fright a couple of nights back when I was expecting cake or water, having forgotten the last thing I'd eaten was a red skinned plum.

jasmine51 · 07/12/2010 15:29

NoMore he he. If you throw up in public after eating something like that, a good ruse is to tell people who come to help (if they do) that the red wine must have got to you....disgusted looks?...oh yes!

NurseSnowflake · 07/12/2010 15:57

LOL @ vomming tips! Fruit and fruit juice always tastes a lot worse second time round IMO.

Jasmine you should make nosy neighbour sorry she stuck her nose in by telling her every gory detail of your pg side effects. And if you run out just make something up. Piles, anyone? Xmas Grin

santamaxx · 07/12/2010 16:40

Oh dear - that's the heartburn started ALREADY. I'm only 14+3!
Was bending over to put laundry away and could literally feel the acid moving up my oesophagus.
That's it then - another 26 weeks of carrying industrial sized bottles of gaviscon everywhere I go. Mind you parma violets, refreshers and love hearts help as well Grin

Moog72 · 07/12/2010 17:09

Santamaxx I feel for you with the heartburn - mine hasn't kicked in yet but when I was pg with dd I had it constantly and it drove me bonkers!

NurseSnowflake · 07/12/2010 17:12

I LOVE parma violets!

santamaxx · 07/12/2010 17:22

It's murder isn't it moog
Me too nurse - they are the best sweets EVER!!!

knackered76 · 07/12/2010 17:28

I also LOVE parma violets Grin!

This will probably be a message in several bits as I am cooking dinner and then have to go and pick up dd from her school disco (oh so cute all dressed up with sparkly trainers :)).

Well the weekend away was lovely. I've decided that I see enough of the children during the week being that I stay at home so should treat myself every weekend. DH can look after the children for some quality time while I recharge! Also decided that if I ever win the lottery I am going to get a personal chef. So easy to eat well when someone else does it for you!

Told dc's on friday. We were going to wait until ds's birthday but then thought it might take it away from him so did it a bit earlier. They were very cute about it. DS chuffed at being a big brother (finally someone to boss around!) and DD just excited about having a baby. They told the grandparents, well after we have phoned DD's best friend to tell her as DD was sooooooo desperate to:) Slowly the grapevine is working and people are finding out but can't say I'm announcing it, quite interested to see how long it takes!

moog fab news on scan Grin

Jasmine Angry at your treatment at the scan. Such a let down when it doesn't go as it should and what a RUBBISH idea to go straight to invasive tests Shock. Your neighbour however sounds hilarious Grin I can say that because she isn't mine making helpful suggestions! Be warned though, you'll find all sorts of people desperate to share their stories with you towards the end, especially the horror ones!

Leroy - sorry to hear about your sister. I hope she has the support she needs.

Nurse - I live nowhere near you but am happy to join in some dxp arse kicking should it be needed again Grin On the plus side hooray for your good scan :)

Right dinner's on, I'll be back to finish later . . .I did warn you!

NurseSnowflake · 07/12/2010 18:01

Nyaaaww sparkly trainers! D'ya wanna have a timeshare personal chef? I always think if I was rich enough to hire a chef and a personal trainer I'd be soooo slim and fit! As it is though... Xmas Sad

knackered76 · 07/12/2010 19:39

We would be nurse! Liking the idea of a timeshare chef . . . had forgotten about a personal trainer, yep I'll add one of those to my basket along with a stylist (something I am really lacking in Blush) and a full time spa person who can perform all manner of facials/massages/reflexology/etc. Now all I have to do it wait until I get really, stinking rich Grin Oh and if the personal trainer doesn't work I'll just have loads of surgery!

Can't remember lots that I've read so sorry if I muddle names with stories!

jbells welcome and congratulations Grin Nice to have another join us!

moomin sorry you've had a bit of a stressful time but pleased that you have come to a decision you are happy with. I have to say I am with you in your choice. It isn't high enough for me to want to go through invasive testing so totally see why you have decided not to. Bloody statistics, they cause no end of trouble in pregnancy!

Having just read the sick conversation have to say pretty pleased I've mananged to miss it (being sick that is!) but hope those of you still suffering get to stop suffering soon!

Nomore - sounds rubbish about your ear. How very annoying for you. I had a friend who totally lost her sense of balance both times at 8 weeks and never really regained it until after the births. There was a lot of very slow walking Grin

Santamaxx I had awful heartburn for a few weeks and now seems to have disappeared so fingers crossed yours is just a fleeting appearance!

Right off again to study. DH is in Ireland for a couple of nights with work so should use the time get ahead with the study . . . . hmmmmm, what can I find to distract myself with Grin

Mummynumber2 · 07/12/2010 19:47

TTL have you got the what go expect phone ap by any chance?

Nurse I have a friend who went through a break up while pregnant and he dxp sounds similar to yours. I know she, after a couple of incidents similar to yours decided to just text him the details of important things like scans and let him come of not. She also made sure she took someone else with her to those appt's, a friend/ mum/ sister as it tended to make him a bit better behaved. Dickhead is def the right word for him though!

Nomore. snap, we have no water or heating! Hope yours is sorted out soon.

Oooh! Parma violets! Do they still make those?!

Good advice for nurse mummynumber2.

I don't have that app. I don't have an iphone - is it a helpful or a worrying app? Not sure I can take more worrying. Now I have lower backache (double worry) and have turned the gas fire off because I'm sure I can smell gas when it's on. Do have a carbon monoxide detector though and it works and it isn't going off, so I think really I am just a crazy pregnant lady walking round my house sniffing Xmas Grin

DH is out for curry and pint for all the male teachers at his school Xmas Hmm. The Hmm face is not for the curry and the pint, but the sexism ...

jasmine you ARE having a melon Grin. How far along are you?! Apparently it is still a large lime at 11 weeks ... don't know why the fruit has to be so exotic, or why it's a lime and not a kiwi. Not looking forward to passing a grapefruit though ...

Parma violets - love them :)

Have been on hold for 15 minutes to the British Gas Homecare people. When I get through I am not going to tell them I am pg and mental, though maybe they'll be able to tell anyway Xmas Biscuit

Thanks for all the reassurance. Love the name change nomore

8rubberduckies · 07/12/2010 20:01

Hi all, haven't had a chance to read through everyone's posts, but just thought I'd let you know we have a happy, healthy baby! I have been put forward a few days, so updated stats below. They struggled to measure bean, as he/she was upside down with head burrowed in a comfortable-looking nook, but was doing a good line in bicycle kicks!

Very pleased Smile

NurseSnowflake · 07/12/2010 20:09

Fab news 8RD!! So pleased for you Xmas Grin

BarbieLovesKen · 07/12/2010 20:17

8rubberduckies I am so, so pleased with your news and that all is well!!!!. Was thinking of you today.

Leyroy ooooh please be very careful with car - is there enough anti freeze in it?? I ask as we have just made this mistake. Snow is very, very bad where I am and we were completely snowed into our house for 4 days. DH couldnt get to work and this is dds second week of no school.

Anyway, car went like yours, wouldnt start properly, then when it would heat wouldnt work - what happened? not enought anti freeze. Ok, it could have been worse, usually the head gasket (apparantly Confused) would have blown but we were "lucky". The water pipe broke. We actually managed to get it to nearest garage (this was at beginning of last week before things got really bad), he kept the car for 5 days, charged ?70 and when we got it back realised its not fixed at all.

Got it as far as my grannys. Decided to leave it there over night as roads were getting very bad and bring it to proper better garage who said would charge ?190 to fix pipe (which is supposed to be good)Went down to grannys next day, DH opens car, throws key on seat, shuts door, opens bonnet to put water in radiator to get us as far as garage and CLICK CLICK the f&^&(g car locks itself!!!.

Tried everything last night and today and eventually had to break window with a hammer to get in - total cost to fix window? ?60

Total cost of stupidly not putting in antifreeze: ?320

Wouldnt mind but we were offered 3 grand for the car last week and we should have sold it as we'll need a people carrier when number 3 arrives anyway.

Oh and was your MIL the reason why you started your baby names thread (I loved it btw!!) what Irish names doesnt she like?

Budget day here today and all very depressing.

Am supposed to be studying! have first exam on Friday morning and havent opened a book yet!! still, got both assignments back that I did when I was really ill with hyperemisis and am sooo suprised and delighter with results, did unexpectedly quite well Smile relieves a little of the pressure for exams as was worth 30% of overall mark for each subject.

Oh! and after much complaining and 5 phonecalls, I've had my scan moved forward to the 16th - Thursday week - I cannot wait. 12 week scan at 16+5!! oh well, could have been worse. Its the best Im getting offered. Am very, very, very nervous after all the news here to be honest.
