Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
moomin156 · 07/12/2010 09:08

Morning all.....hope you feel better today nurse.....he sounds a right idiot, you are so much better without him. Congrats on the good scan though

Well so much for the blossoming 2nd trimester. 14+1 and more tired than i have ever been. Went to bed at 8:15 and pretty much slept for 12hrs. Have such dry skin and dark eyes......

good luck today 8rd and anyone else with scans

jasmine51 · 07/12/2010 09:30

clench so sorry about your news. Puts everything into perspective. Thinking of you today xx
Nurse Are they all going to secret tosser classes together or something? Although my DH is nowhere near as bad as your DXP, mines attitude is plain weird. I'm sure their brains are affected by pg hormones more than ours. By the way, I notice we have the same EDD, yay!
I managed to get a private scan booked for Thursday by the way. Still got the NHS 2nd attempt on Saturday but I dont have any faith in them so have doubled up. I forgot to tell you that at the first scan on Saturday, the sonographer said - if we cant get the nuchal measurement you might have to try a cvs or amnio instead. AIBU to think that with my mc history this was a pretty stupid line to be taking? Anyway - private place were really sweet and my faith in humanity has been restored for the time being.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 07/12/2010 09:43

Clench very saddened to read your news.

Does anyone else get blocked ears for no reason other than standing up? This happened with DS too, and I'm finding it very annoying. Maybe it's my bodies way of asking me to go back to bed.

At least I'm slowly starting to reintroduce red meat back into my diet.

Actually think back to bed is a sensible idea. Blocked ears are making me a bit dizzy too.

NurseSnowflake · 07/12/2010 10:00

Maybe an ear infection Nomorechoc?

Hope you feel a bit better today cameli. As soon as yu're recovered please feel free to give XP the aforementioned good kicking Xmas Grin

NurseSnowflake · 07/12/2010 10:07

Jasmine that seems a pretty extreme jump to me. Surely most poeple would only have the cvs or amnio if they were really high risk for DS? Mine told me if they couldn't get the nuchal measurement they'd bring me back in at 15 weeks and have another look at other markers or something. Just don;t feel pushed into anything.

Glad you've had a nicer time at the private place, though I agree, you shouldn't have to pay to get what you're entitled to.

Forgot to say the MW I say at the hosp yesterday was a complete idiot! SO glad she's not my comm MW. She wouldn't listen to me about how to take my blood (hello, I've had crappy veins all my life, don't you think I've learned how to do it by now?!!) and then tried to tell me I weigh 2 stone more than I actually do! Grrrr

jasmine51 · 07/12/2010 10:23

Nurse It just proves to me that the onus is on us to do all our research and know what the score is so we dont get pushed into inappropriate procedures. The sonographer by the way was the consultant obsteatrician (which I cant spell) which seems incredible. I'm back at the FMU on Monday for a cervical assessment so I might throw myself on the floor and give them the full teary act before begging them to continue looking after me to term. I cant fault their care, lovely people.

re your MW - I can lend you my DH, he loves taking bloods...which is a bit of a worry I guess, although he is a paramedic so not a vampire or anything

Moog72 · 07/12/2010 10:26

Clench - so sorry to hear your news? you must be devastated. Please look after your self.

Morning ladies,

I have just updated the stats as I had my scan yesterday and I am a few days further ahead than I thought. I was so amazed to finally see a baby wriggling around, kicking and waving! What a relief - so happy. The nuchal measzurement was 1.5mm which I think is normal but they said we have to wait for the blood resulst etc to get the final risk. If high risk I'll know by Thurtsday so not too long to wait.

Congrats to you Nurse :) (and sorry your DXP is being an arse).

supersunny I'm now a day behind you (11+1) but we are scan buddies for next Thursday :)

I am terrified. I saw the heartbeat at 9+3 but my ms has practically gone (I did throw up a bit of my dinner last night but in general I just feel hungry all the time. A week ago and two weeks ago I couldn't eat anything), and though my boobs are still sore even they are feeling better ... feeling a bit negative this week.

nurse your DXP sounds like a complete twonk. It sounds to me like he was looking for any excuse to get out of going. But as others have said, when it all sinks in hopefully he'll start behaving himself. I'm sure he'll fall in love with your little one as soon as he/she is around. Just a shame you have to put up with him in the meantime. I'd be fuming mad if I was you Xmas Angry

takethatlady · 07/12/2010 10:39

PS - congrats on your scans moog and nurse Xmas Smile. Lovely news.

BarbieLovesKen · 07/12/2010 10:40

Moog a huge congratulations on your scan. Am so happy it went well.

moomin156 · 07/12/2010 10:53

Moog congratulations on your scan, i was looking out for your news

Moog72 · 07/12/2010 10:57

Thanks Barbie and Moomin :)

Meant to say Moomin - glad you have come to a decision you are happy with regarding further tests. I have been thinking about this to (obviously don't need to worry yet until I get bloods) but I feel of a similar opinion to you. I don't think I would get invasive tests done unless VERY high risk from bloods...

moomin156 · 07/12/2010 11:03

moog i think you need to have in your head what you class as high risk. This is the most difficult thing........the professionals see anything below their figure as high risk and although my MW was lovely and not pushy reading on here i can see thats not always the case

Moog72 · 07/12/2010 11:10

I think in my area they consider 1:150 to be high risk but given that the risk of miscarriage from a CVS can be 1-2% I don't think 1:150 is high risk. I guess I'm trying not to think about it too hard unless I have to...

kara how weird I too have a stiff neck/shoulder - is it a pregnancy symptom Wink it's very painful and disrupted my sleep even more than it has been already. Plus yes, I am still peeing loads!!

nurse what a horrible childish thing for your DXP to do at the hospital. But like others have said on here you seem to have your head screwed on and I'm so pleased you aren't prepared to put up with his sh*t! I have a very dear friend who has a complete idiot of a BF and it frustrates me seeing her put up with all his nonsense. :(

supersunnyday sorry to hear you aren't feeling so hot. Hopefully it will pass soon enough for you.

moog congrats on your scan.. great news :)

There can't be many of us left now to have our first scans now. Mine is a week today and I think TTL is the day or two after. Then we are all into our 2nd trimester :o

jbells · 07/12/2010 11:26

hello all, i was wondering if u wud mind another one joining in, i am technically due in may i have been given 2 dates the 23rd and the 26th of may but inoticed a few of u have end of may dates, and my DD was born 7 days late so if i go over i will most likely have a june baby :)

i am 16+ 1 and have a DD who is 20 months tomoro

had my 16 wk apt yest where DD decided to throw her first major tantrum whilst i was having blood taken so embarrasing wont try that agen they also found protein and blood in my urine so it has been sent of for testing

TabithaTwitchet · 07/12/2010 11:37

Moog and Nurse, congratulations on your scans! And good luck for yours today 8RD.

I have had a slight pain in my right side all weekend, I think I have pulled something. Sure it is nothing to worry about, is niggly rather than painful, but still feel worried about it.

Still at least my morning sickness has got worse! I thought it was supposed to be tailing off by now, but I keep almost vomiting with absolutley no warning Sad. Have managed to remain just in control so far, but it is v awkward! Moan, moan, moan.

Hope everyone else is doing OK :)

neenewps · 07/12/2010 11:41

Congrats to you also nurse on your scan. I forgot to put that in my post

jbells welcome to Jue in June. :)

Tabitha I thought I didn't have ms anymore too but just went into the kitchen and a wee retching fit at the pie dish soaking in the sink! Last week it was raw meat! I'm sure the pain in your side is nothing to worry about. Can you call your mw to double check and to ease your worry?

KaraStarbuckThrace · 07/12/2010 12:23

Welcome Jbels!! My DS was a bit of a nightmare when I took him to the booking in appointent - thank goodness he is at nursery when i have my 16 week appt.

Nurse & Moogs - congrats on the scan!

Jasmine - glad you have another scan sorted, Angry on your behalf that you are having to book another one. Ridiculous they are offering you CVS/Amnio at this stage.

Newneeps - I reckon it is all the ligament softening - it makes you more prone to injury.

14 weeks today and still getting the odd bit of morning sickness!

Sarahmumtobe · 07/12/2010 12:24

Hi everyone, just been catching up on the last few days-it was my 30th birthday yesterday so went back to my parents to see family and have some r and r.

So sad to hear your news clench. Take care and thinking of you.

Welcome jbells!

moog great news and we are now sharing due dates!!!

moomin so glad to hear that you have made decisions and are a lot happier now. My mum was 45 when she had me and refused an amniocentesis and she and I had no problems.

NurseSnowflake · 07/12/2010 12:56

Congrats on your scan moog

TTL it was you who was terribly sick up until a little while ago wasn't it? I seriously doubt anything's wrong, this is about the expected time to be easing off on ms anyway, though if you vommed last night I wouldn't be so sure it's all over for you! Do try not to worry though :)

Welcome jbells, I'm sure your urinalysis will come back perfectly normal :)

Good to have you back suppersunny, how strange though that your, and Jasmine's hospitals should be like that. It just goes to show the ocmplete lack of consistency throughout the NHS, it's like every trust is a law unto itself.

santamaxx · 07/12/2010 13:05

Congrats on the scan moog
Welcome to the group jbells

I am freezing - it is soooooo snowy here and I was out all morning so haven't had the fire on. I am REALLY bad for feeling the cold as well - brrr
