That floats on high o'er vales and hills
When all at once I saw a crowd
Of cackling, quaffing, ne-er-do-wells

Pull up a seat, grap a glass of vino and a piece of sushi, it's Delitime again.

honey You do realise that when it does happen for you, we'll all be in the midst of okie excitement and you'll all be forgotten about, we'll text with something like "isn't your baby 3 months old now?". Wink So basically - you'd like to lay after X-factor but before EE omnibus?

Scorpette · 06/11/2010 18:05

Sorry, soooo long!

FC, I am the queen of no-sugar soft drinks! Currently, all I can drink is fizzy stuff and all just naturally sweetened with fruit juice. All the Appletiser range (Peartiser, Fruitiser) are nice, stuff from the Feel Good Drinks Company are lush, esp. the lemon one and Suso does small cans of nice stuff - all of those are available from normal supermarkets, including own brand ones too. Pret do a range of fizzy drinks that don't contain sugar (Pret Cools, I think they're called - the ginger beer is gorgeous) and health food shops will sell a good range too. Hope that helps!

Silver, am not your pal yet in the uvver place, so am going to add you, if that's okay :) Hope you're feeling fine and in a post-baby bliss XX

rollerbaby · 06/11/2010 18:11

You're so right Aply, that okie is a right attention stealing witch. :)

Scorpette · 06/11/2010 18:22

Moo, try doing the patented 'Shitting A Bulldog' stance so favoured by Cher Lloyd every week. That could make a non-preggo drop a sprog! Grin Good squatting, old chap.

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 06/11/2010 19:08

Hello all,

Thx for the good wishes when I checked in. It's been quite a whirlwind since then! She was indeed born that night - though actually the next day, Tuesday the 2nd at 5am. She's a little beauty and we are enraptured by her. Birth story will follow for me too. I am still processing it all mentally I think. Was perfectly straight foward I guess, though long - some 26 hours from the onset of the contractions. But the end makes it all worth it.

Will put some pics and name in t'other place soon.

I was in hospital until now - they do a four day stay here, in a lovely private room and all - love the health system here. We even stayed a bit extra to try and crack the breastfeeding - few little worries with latch and sore nipples, but I think we're getting there. Today is engorgement central though. Not so fun.

Will do Birth story for FESH soon - silver can't wait to hear how it was for you and rooting hard for honey and okie!

PerfectDromedary · 06/11/2010 19:12

Silvs Woo! You have a baybeeee! Congrats, petal.

PerfectDromedary · 06/11/2010 19:12

OkieCokie · 06/11/2010 19:23

Silver and Wit so pleased to see you both back here in these parts and many congratulations again. Looking forward to hearing all about it warts and all. Wit the extended stay in hospital sounds lovely although I assume Silver was desterate to leave so may have differing views! Will check out t'other place for details.

Right Moo if you want to play dirty I race ya! I can do fighting talk too. I bet I lay before you!

SilverSky · 06/11/2010 19:39

SilverSky · 06/11/2010 19:45

Congrats wittwoo! I pippedmyputo the post by 5hrs eh? As you were just about to meet your baybee I was lying in my hossie bed paralysed from the bust down staring at my very own baybee thinking OMFG a baybee and it's all mine. The little fella was lying swaddled in the cot next to me staring back at me, prolly thinking "so this is mama is it? Hmmm she doesn't look to clued up. Brill I'll get her trained in no time!"

Scorpette · 06/11/2010 20:18

Me and Silver, sittin' in a tree... Grin As an Official Pal, I can reveal that her small is cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute!

YAAAAAYYYY for Witty and WittyBaybee! 'Bout time we had a PESH girl, too :) Glad you're both doing well and that you're both getting the hang of BFing. Your hossie treatment sounds lovely as well. Lucky you

Come on Moo, get cracking! We need another Scorpy baby ASAP!

rocketleaf · 06/11/2010 21:10

Sorry I have shamelessly skimmed as thought there would be news of moo laying. has she gone suspisciously quiet again?

Massive congrates to both silver and switty on successful baby laying :o

My end, i am feeling really sick again after a good couple of days, think I was a bit stupid ambitious with food this avo and Sprout is defo NOT impressed. Funeral was ok, pretty heart rending really but managed to do the reading without losing it and was LOVELY to catch up with extended family. TB has been marvelous, really looking after me both emotionally and physically and even endured being forced to hold my cousins baby and have photos taken of him looking discomforted with good grace. Bless him. Had lovely long cuddle with her myself and cuz has offered me all sorts of hand me downs which is going to be great. She was super excited for us which was really nice.

hope everyone else is ok, sorry to hear the pikiness is still making itself felt with you all too.

rocketleaf · 06/11/2010 21:12

oh sorry, forgot to say to polly I have not a clue what SPD is and am too scared to google it but its obviously not a good thing so very sorry you have it :( I hope the girdle and kegels do the trick.

SilverSky · 06/11/2010 21:35

moomoo must be laying as she has gone quiet on t'other place !!!! Cannae wait to hear her baybee news!! Soooo exciting. Sneeze girl sneeze!!

rollerbaby · 06/11/2010 21:40

silver Sorry I AM here... was quiet on other place cos I was eating me dinner!!! Ha ha. Your little one is gorg... it seems unbelievable doesn't it - I can't believe in days ours will be here... OMFG indeed.

witty good to hear from you and glad you are all ok. Sounds like a good set up what with private room etecetera.... Can't wait to see piccies soon.

Right then, off for sweepsies in the morn - okies get thee some castor oil mama!

SilverSky · 06/11/2010 21:56

Drat and double drat. Perhaps in the wee hours eh?

Ta for the compliments about my little man. I fink he is divine and just beautiful. But then I would. HI is completely smitten with him too. When they arrive it's unbelievable. We wait such a long time to meet them, we develop a relationship with them whilst they are in our tums, we plan their arrival and it becomes such a massive occassion/expectation that it seems unreal when they do arrive.

bovineNectar cos I never even went into labour (will tell all in my novel!!) I never even had a show so I reckon sneezing is imminent and in my profeshonal opinion I reckon baybeeMoo will pitch up early hours Tuesday morning.

laurielou · 06/11/2010 21:57

Silver & Switty big congratulations to you both! Lovely to see you out t'other side, so to speak.

Sorry to start a debate this morning then fuck off Grin. I don't think my MW was bad, it just wasn't what I was expecting. Which considering I'm pretty clueless with all things diffment at the moment, I'd kind of just made the whole idea of that appointment up in my head .

Anyway, I'm stuffed full of Clarke's Pie & chippies, so am off to put on some stretchy pants.

rocketleaf · 06/11/2010 22:09

laurie my first appointment was a bit of a let down too. It wasn't with the person who will be my midwife, she just reiterated what I had been told by the doctor re diet and FA etc and told me when I needed to make my next appointment to see my actual midwife and asked me where I wanted to have the baby (HB or choice of two hospitals) All the stuff that I expected to happen then (weight, height, etc) happened just after my dating scan instead.

I guess the problem is we might have expectations with what's going to happen and then it might be quite different as we dont know WHAT to expect really. Have to say the MW at my scan was really professional and lovely and although did whizz through some stuff, would go into more detail re: anything we asked about.

Scorpette · 06/11/2010 22:56

Biggest hugs for Rocket - you've been v brave today.

Muser · 07/11/2010 10:30

Yes, big hugs rocketyone.

OP posts:
rollerbaby · 07/11/2010 10:57

Waiting for mw in the doctors surgery for my sweep. Nervous!!!!! I hope it's not too hurty.

Some fucking bastard let off an arsenal of fireworks at 3am last night so labour today would be quite tiring I think.... Mini woof didn't bark once though. I could just feel him jump at the bangs through the duvet bless.

CurlyCasper · 07/11/2010 11:06

luck to moo and hugs to rocket xx

SilverSky · 07/11/2010 11:11

honey remember to breathe or talk whilst they do the exam/sweep. Does help.

Fingers xd it jet propels the baybee out !!!

Muser · 07/11/2010 11:26

Good luck moo.

Right, me and my cookies are off to see a friend who is making a patchwork blanket for Bob. Incorporating bits of my wedding dress and all sorts.

OP posts:
CluckyKate · 07/11/2010 12:13

Ooh good luck Mooster - I found S&S to be OK, just a little bit uncomfortable. Do your breathing & you'll be fine.

I've always found MW appointments to be a bit of a anti-climax. In and out in 10 mins, makes me wonder what takes everyone else so long. MW are excellent though, however, we alternate with doctors appointments here & I found the docs, without exception, to be completely clueless....was very Confused and Hmm when the doc asked me how much pethidine I would need for my homebirth (he was writing out the prescription).

Supercrongrats to Silver and Switts for their new arrivals - amazing you find the time to come on here amidst the relentless need to feed, sleep & change nappies. Looking forward to hearing all about it.

(((((Hugs))))) for you Rockstar...

...and Shock at prospect of chopping-up your wedding dress Muse. Mine is carefully wrapped up in a box under my bed until I can fit into it again & wear it to dinner parties - no-one is coming anywhere near it with a pair of scissors. Like the idea of the patchwork blanket for Bob tho - would make good use of MrClucks old ties...
