That floats on high o'er vales and hills
When all at once I saw a crowd
Of cackling, quaffing, ne-er-do-wells

Pull up a seat, grap a glass of vino and a piece of sushi, it's Delitime again.

Who, what, me? NEVER!

rollerbaby · 04/11/2010 20:34

Hurty back and cramps update.

Really tired so hope it isn't tonight now!!

laurielou · 04/11/2010 20:35

I flaty refuse to think about birth until at least 39 +6 Grin

Evening Haglets. My meeting lasted 7 straight hours. I did have 30 mins lunchbreak, when my Line Manager decided to hand over all his tasks to me prior to his hols. This involves a trip away next week. At the end of the day I wept whilst driving home - relief the day was over, tiredness & general fucked-offness at manager. Troo, I agreed to deputise in his absence, & he doesn't know I'm diffed & can't be more than 5 paces away from a fridge, but ARGH! Fucker.

alpine as usual you speak muchos sensos about the old secks mallarkey. I really want to want it, & for a nano second today I didn't feel sick. So am planning to start my blooming stage soon & shag Mr Loz senseless.

muse YEY for the 3 non-puke days. That's bloody marvellous. Long may it continue.

Anyhoo, I'm dragging my sorry arse upstairs & launching into a bath. Then bed. Whoooo, its pure rock n roll in Chez Loz.

Night ladies, x

laurielou · 04/11/2010 20:36

Fuck! What a time to x-posts. moo try to get some sleep, sounds like it could be happening..............

PerfectDromedary · 04/11/2010 20:43

moo!!! tres exciting.

lozza I am having a meltdown today too, must be something in the water. Have these comforting if vaguely ineffectual hairstrokes.

Medee · 04/11/2010 20:44

ooh

rocketleaf · 04/11/2010 20:48

Oh moo hope you get some rest tonight and the action holds off til the morning.

lozzer trip away? Hope its fairly local ie the UK? Couldn't you just tell work you are diffed now? I had to spill the beans at 5 weeks as they wanted to send me to Idaho via Calcutta and Bogetta (slight exaggeration maybe)

I agree with the secs being a good idea and if things improve the way they have done the last week or so I might even manage it this weekend. As long as TB keeps away from the garlic we could be reet.

Girl in work had greek salad with what must have been about a pound of raw onion on it today, the whole office stank of onion all day. I am looking forward to this particular symptom wearing off when I can stop acting like a demented blood hound. :o

rocketleaf · 04/11/2010 20:49

italics fail. brackets seem to screw with it.

CurlyCasper · 04/11/2010 20:51

Go moo! I keep going to bed thinking of you and other friend with same due date. Neither of you have laid yet, and I expect to wake one day soon to double good news. Easy birth vibes coming your way!

AlpinePony · 04/11/2010 20:51

laurie Err... don't wish to piss on your parade - but the blooming may not make you feel as though you are blooming, but with any luck "slightly less shit and sporting fewer coldsores" - which can make for more enjoyable sex. Wink

moo Eat. Love. Rest. Pray. Or - if you don't want your baybee tonight - pray hold the love.

OkieCokie · 04/11/2010 20:59

Scorps I opted for consultant led care and I am very glad I did. We have discussed my birth plan and she knows my desire for an active birth with minimal intervention unless intervention is necessary which could be for many reasons even with MW led care.

Consultants aren't all scary and whipping you in for c-sections at the first sign of a decreased heart beat. They are there (like a MW is) to get a mother and baby through to the other side safe and well and as long as they understand you they will generally help you have the best possible birth experience.

The main thing throughout all of pregnancy and birth (apart from being well at the end of it!) is to keep an open mind but question everything in order to retain your control. It has been mentioned here before but the acronym BRAIN serves us all well.

What are the Benefits of what you are suggesting
What are the Risks
What are the Alternatives for me
What is my Instinct
What will happen if I do Nothing

It is something they advise you to try and remember when faced with decisions in labour but it can be applied throughout all pregnancy IMO.

MW are not trying to pull the wool over your eyes, they are just busy so all you need to do is just ask what they are writing, what it means and they will be delighted to have someone take and interest and elaborate I am sure.

Moo get yourself off to bed! You may need your kip.

OkieCokie · 04/11/2010 21:06

Oh and by the way, first time round I was booked in for Midwife led care in a home from home unit but as there was mecomium in waters from the off then that put the kybosh on that and I was straight into labour ward and kissed bye bye to my waterbirth. You have to be very open minded and not hell bent on having one thing and not another as sometimes it is just not in your control.

rocketleaf · 04/11/2010 21:26

I really liked the MW that did all the paper work and bloods on Wed (shame she's not my actual midwfe but she sounded nice too) I had mentioned I was interested in a HB at my first appointment, it was obviously on my notes and she was very positive about it but also said that it was something we would discuss again more fully closer to the time But she was cool and said, 'we don't take the attitude that just because you haven't given birth before you can't consider a Home birth" I said the same thing as you ockie that I would be willing to go with the flow if something came up that meant it might not be a good idea. I am actually having 2nd thoughts about it mainly because the walls are a bit thin here I am not sure it would be fair on the neighbours.

So far am pretty impressed with the set up and staff at LWH so am feeling more comfortable with going there if it comes to that.

laurielou · 04/11/2010 22:15

Nope, alpine you're wrong. I am going to bloom. I bloody well am!

laurielou · 04/11/2010 22:15

Nope, alpine you're wrong. I am going to bloom. I bloody well am!

AlpinePony · 04/11/2010 22:34

I hope you have a blooming lovely time! x Grin You never know, you might actually do so - you might be a windswept, rosy-cheeked beauty striding down the prom in January before returning home to your lover and straddling him. Or you may come home and lie on the couch with a tv dinner and fall asleep during Eastenders...

Scorpette · 04/11/2010 23:28

Go Moomin, go Moomin! If things are hotting up, I really hope you get some sleep tonight. Good luck! :)

Love the BRAIN thing, Cokie, some wise words there, thanks. I'm totally open to any kind of birth. In fact, I can't imagine making a birth plan more detailed than 'whatever it takes' Grin My ideal, as I said, would be a water birth, but I really just want to do whatever is best for me and the baby and what's safest and least painful, etc. (unless the least painful for me isn't the safest for baby, IYKWIM). Also, I'm coming round to the idea that I'll probably want drucks - lots of drucks - which would put the kibosh on a water birth, I'm sure. I don't mind the MW not telling me every little thing she was noting, as I appreciate she hasn't got time, but I think something like opting for CL-care is something she shouldn't decide without even mentioning it to me. Sounds quite groovy, now everyone has explained it to me - shame she couldn't be arsed!

laurielou · 05/11/2010 07:48

Ooh, I'm so determined to bloom I posted twice - sorry about that.

Alpine I feel option 2 is the way forward.

Drom sorry you had a meltdown yesterday too. I had a good sleep & feel much better again this morning. Hope you feel better too.

Anyway, just popped in to set up camp with a flask of tea & some cheese sandwiches, waiting for moo news.

rollerbaby · 05/11/2010 08:46

Bah no overnight baybee... But I did get a good nights sleep so he can come today! When I waddled to the loo in the night I could feel lots of pressure in lower back... But anyway sorry to keep you all waiting. It's getting rather dull I know.

AlpinePony · 05/11/2010 08:49

honey A good night's sleep is invaluable - he can wait a few more hours. I'm sure one of the reasons I had problems was because I'd not slept for days before he was born and was already exhuasted - they closed the ward the day I went home because they were ending up doing too many c-sections because everyone was exhausted (due to heat) by the time they got to hospital... You sound a bit fed up you poor thing. Why not go to the park and throw some bangers at people? Apparently fireworks will cause your baybee to be born immediately.

laurielou · 05/11/2010 10:16

Moo well at least you had a good sleep. If you could squeeze him out today you can call him Guy Grin. Character building I reckon. Fancy one of my cheese sarnies?

TwinkleToes76 · 05/11/2010 11:28

morning all! just popping on in between the feeling rough part of the day and the I've died and gone to hell feeling that starts at 12 and lasts until I go to sleep at night, to check on any new arrivals - massive congrats silver!!.Anything from Switty yet?

Early scan this morning showed healthy baby with strong heart beat and measuring right for my dates! Grin

PollyPoo · 05/11/2010 11:39

Moo I hope baybee is listening and will chose to be born soon! It is not boring for us, we are all sat on edge of seats. You are prolly getting a bit bored now though.

Muse congrats on the 3 days of no puking - have you made it to 4 yet?

I have just had my first physio appt. Can't do anything for my back until after I've laid the baybee. Oh yes, and I have SPD. Fucksticks. Sad I have a 'girdle' type thing to wear which will do the job my muscles should be doing, and I have to do lots more pelvic floor exercises. Deep joy.

PollyPoo · 05/11/2010 11:41

Soz Twinks, what a time to x-post. Congrats on the scan! How exciting.

Ooh yes, and also belated congrats to Rocket for the scan. Yay for LilRocket!

Muser · 05/11/2010 11:47

Great news on the scan Twinkle.

Polly sadly, today was not a good day and I puked. I am remaining positive though, maybe the pukiness is slowing down.

Bad news on the SPD, it is a great fear of mine. Hope the girdle helps a bit, and if not .
