That floats on high o'er vales and hills
When all at once I saw a crowd
Of cackling, quaffing, ne-er-do-wells

Pull up a seat, grap a glass of vino and a piece of sushi, it's Delitime again.

Hi again. Back from app. I can confidently say that was nowhere near as bad as I expected. Not even painful, just a bit uncomfy. The good news is that he has moved right down since last app on weds and cervix is top of the class at a bishops score of 6. Which is basically highest score for favourability and dilated about 1-2cms. Yippee. We have a 40% chance of this working....

Feel all excited. Going out for lunch with the family and hopefully more news in the next 24 hours.

wooooooooo

AlpinePony · 07/11/2010 12:37

blimey moo, am well impressed with your Bishops - that all sounds VERY positive - am also wondering if sweep hurts "less" if your body is gearing up for it. A few of us have found it very painful - and we were in the induction gang... What are their plans for you if it doesn't start kicking off soon?

Congrats switty - pls to post photos? :)

Muser · 07/11/2010 12:41

Oh yay, that sounds v promising moo.

Clucky my wedding dress is carefully packed away in a box. I had a removeable train and had that turned into a jacket to wear for other occasions. The fabric for the blanket is off cuts from that.

OP posts:
CluckyKate · 07/11/2010 12:49

Phew - can stop hyperventilating now Muse Wink

That does sound promising Moo. Make that a super-hot curry for lunch, followed by looong walk, nipple tweaks and lots of secks. You will be deilvering that baybee tomorrow fo' sho'.

I think your theory is right Alps - I was 2cm for my sweep after off-roading with Boxster.

rollerbaby · 07/11/2010 15:10

muse that sounds lovely... a blanket for your baby. You are much handier than me. Mine's all packed away too and have some offcuts of the lace. I thought I'd become a size 8, shorten and die the dress black and whip it out for our year's anniversary. Not sure that will be happening anytime soon!!

alpy who knows about the pain bit, I was very much expecting the worst and she was gentle and sort of got more rummagy as it went on. I did the breathing and mr moo stroked my arm bless him.

Have annuver appointment at hossie this time on weds if no baby before then. They will then do scan, monitor and offer another sweep. Apparently they will let me do monitoring right up to 43 weeks if I want and baby ok... I feel very reassured by this I have to say, but really hoping I won't need it. The gap between dates and measurement has closed right down now - i.e. only 2 cms over so he's stopped growing and I can'[t help but feel he should be coming out soon if thats the case.

just back from pub, cant walk very well and quite a bit of bleeding. Secks? No way jose... Mini malteasers? Yes please.

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 07/11/2010 16:28

Oh my God moo - sounds like this is it! Bleeding for me started at 5cm.

Lots of strength to you my dear.

Thx for the congrats. Off to have a little rest. Few pics in t'other place.

Scorpette · 07/11/2010 16:31

Since when has putting mini malteasers up your foof been advised for inducing labour? Sounds v unhygienic to me Confused

GO BABYMOO!

CurlyCasper · 07/11/2010 17:08

moo 1-2cms and bleeding? It's started AFAIC! How exciting. Shall we be getting updates when things really get going? Wink

MrsFC · 07/11/2010 19:03

Lovely to have you back silv switt, hope all is well with you both! The first few days are as scary as fuck - but it doesn't take too long before it all settles down.

Vey vey exciting news about moo....!!!

Muser · 07/11/2010 19:03

Oooh!

I have had a lovely afternoon. Sunday roast in a pub, blanket talk, cookies, games of Guess Who with a 6 year old. Lovely.

For the avoidance of doubt, my contribution to the blanket is a few bits of fabric. I do not sew. My friend, however, does. I am excited to see what we end up with. We found some cool fabric in her stash, including some with tiny skulls on. Goth baby!

rollerbaby · 07/11/2010 20:10

switty your daughter is gorgeous... and you look pretty damn fab for someone thats just had a baby!

I will try on the update front, but not sure it is a part of the getting in the zone hippobirthing technique! Doula has just called and told me to go to bed early in case it's tonight.

Glass o wine, maltesers, X factor, bed, have baby. in that order...

CurlyCasper · 07/11/2010 20:35
Grin
Medee · 07/11/2010 20:42

Hurrah for Switty and Silver laying, and fingers crossed that it will be soon for Honey.

Muse - I really like the idea of incorporating a bit of your wedding dress into your baby blanket.

PollyPoo · 07/11/2010 22:58

Just thought I'd check in to see if Moo has laid yet! Had a busy weekend and pelvis v hurty. I'm not a happy bunny but on the plus side TG has finally pulled his finger out and has not let me lift a finger for the last two days. Halle-fucking-lujah!

Moo, sounds like your time is a comin. Grin. Good luck luvver, see you on t'other side.

Extra squueeeees and gin soaked donuts for Lorry - congrats on the scan! So sorry I am so behind, hope I've not missed anyone else out. Blush

AlpinePony · 08/11/2010 07:33

polly Seems a bit extreme to me... having to go through two pregnancies and develop SPD just to get TG to load the dishwasher! Wink

moomoo Puuuuuuuuuuush! Grin Mind you, given her dilation/state yesterday she could well be in for a sneeze!

So now that moo is in progress time to start starting at okie and reggie.

AlpinePony · 08/11/2010 07:42

This is for you pol. Last night whilst rounding up the day and getting ready for bed, I asked jb if the stuff in the tumbledryer was dry. He told me it was. I asked again, asking if ALL of it was dry. Once again, I was told it was. I then said "good, because Bear's sleeping bag is in there". Off he runs to turn the tumbledryer on... Hmm

SilverSky · 08/11/2010 10:28

Men are full of it aren't they. They like to live bloody dangerously.

HI asked me what days I needed him this week. So I told him. He said ok. He has just told me that he is out tomorrow on business. First I have heard of it. Claims I knew.

Going to send him on a commincations course.

polly way to go!

moo where are you? is you sneezing ya baybee aht?

lozz yay for scans.

We have had a challenging night at chez sky. Da baybee is now zonko. I shall be spending most of the day on or near the sofa trying to retirieve five and a half hours lost sleep!!

rollerbaby · 08/11/2010 10:51

I am here laydees with baybees.

Didn't get to sleep til 2am with going to loo and stabby cramps. Oh yeah and dog trying to sleep on top of me.

Had lots of bloody show this morning... big blobs and everything.

Have had porridge, shower, tidied up and now back in bed waiting for things to happen. Feel like I should probably try and sleep now.

My mum is coming to pick up the pooch this afternoon which will make me cry no doubt as we are basically like shadows since I've been on maternity leave. I think its probably best though as I don't want them to have to drive out here in the middle of the night and he does wake me up with his deciding where to sleep on the bed.

Feeling wee bit nervous now. Hippobirthing CD did not get me to sleep last night... too tense...

PollyPoo · 08/11/2010 11:41

Aw Moo you will be fine. Deep breaths sweetheart - you will soon be holding your darling little boy. Squeeee!!! I like the plan - rest as much as you can now. Grin

Muser · 08/11/2010 11:53

Yes, lots of rest moo, sounds like baby is just about ready to make an appearance.

OP posts:
Orchid12 · 08/11/2010 12:21

Silver congratulations!Smile

Moo - sounds like things are hotting up for you!

I am now experiencing those much longed for symtoms Confused. Whilst I am grateful for them, I don't half feel rubbish! I had forgotten how bad MS can make you feel. I have constant nausea and dry heaving. Was even up at 2am heaving away. I am trying to eat and drink regularly to keep it at bay, but it's not working. The more I eat, the worse I feel. Gah. I want to go home and curl up in bed, but am sat at my desk, with still another two hours of teaching to do this afternoon. Lord help me...

TwinkleToes76 · 08/11/2010 12:34

I hear you Orchid! Am also feeling dire. I've discovered that if I eat nothing I feel ok, but clearly this is not a long term solution! The one thing that seems to go down ok is banana milkshake! So that is what I am surviving on for breakfast, and then try to eat very little until I can leave work and head home to early light dinner and then lie horizontal on the sofa. I feel for you having to teach when you're feeling rough - I can at least pretend to be concentrating on work by looking engrossed in my computer screen rather than having to communicate with anyone. Hope you find a solution to the sickness soon.

Go Moo! Hope things start moving quickly for you!

Orchid12 · 08/11/2010 12:56

Oh Twinks sorry to hear you're suffering too. Strawberry milkshake went down well at the weekend for me too. I am currently sat here with a bottle of Diet Coke and a packet of crisps for lunch. Fruit and veg make me want to heave. Not too sure of the long term implications of a diet of fizzy drinks and junk food!?! Today is my only heavy teaching day, the rest of the week is ok. I just need to survive today and then I can work from home tomorrow - hooray! I think I may work from bed Smile

Muser · 08/11/2010 12:59

Milkshake usually worked well for me. Percy Pigs were good too. Also ready salted crisps. Oh and cheese.

My diet was shocking for at least the first 12 weeks, but Bob coped. Just remember, your body steals every bit of goodness you eat and have stored up and gives it to your baby. You may feel shocking, but your baby will be doing just fine.

laurielou · 08/11/2010 13:16

You have no idea how much I heart you ladies. I just came on here to moan about how rubbish I'm feeling today, how there isn't enough food in the world to stop me feeling sick or fill me up. And there you all are, feeling the same way, empathising with me without even knowing it. And muse putting my mind at ease. Thank you!

I actually dreamt last night that when I gave birth my baby had a disease called "Bread Skin" - I'd eaten so much bread he looked like he was covered in breadcrumbs. I just can't stop eating though, & I think that makes my stomach ache too. I just want to eat something that will take the horrible taste away from my mouth. Sorry, this is not kind of me, but knowing I'm not alone makes it slighty easier....

Wah wah wah............
