Due July 2011?

MadAboutTheBoys · 24/10/2010 07:42

Just got my BFP this morning and so excited! Managed this conception while DH was out of the country so very chuffed that it worked! Already have two DS, one who is 3.2 and an August birthday and one who is 16 months and a June birthday so bring on the Summer parties!

Have never been part of an antenatal club on here before but as this is planned to be my last pregnancy am hoping to find some other July mums to share the journey with (although know I am very early!) Am already worrying how the birth will go as DS2 was born unexpectedly in the kitchen after a 90 min labour with the midwife only just there to catch him, so am a bit worried if subsequent labours are supposed to go quicker whether I will have anyone with me for this one, but at least I have a while to go yet!

It is so nice to see this thread filling up even more.

I told my Mum the news last night and she took it better than expected. She did manage to get in the line 'you can't cope with the two you've got' though, which I thought was just lovely Hmm

Hope everyone is feeling well today.

Stangirl · 12/11/2010 11:57

I am way too over excited about being pg. Am having to work really hard not to tell people - and I'm only a few weeks gone. Not sure how I'm going to keep my trap shut for another 2 months.

StormBird · 12/11/2010 12:46

Stangirl I can completely understand about wanting to tell everyone, although after everything I went through with my last PG you'd think I'd be rather more cautious...

Pesh sounds like you've got your hands full, I hope your DS feels better soon.

Welcome to Jahms and congratulations.

Eglu glad your mum reacted better than you thought she would......even if she did drop in a little comment!!!! Smile

My nausea seems to be coming and going. Haven't had the sicky feeling today (yet) however, yesterday you would've thought I was out at sea!! Today my cramps are more noticable so I hope everything is ok in there Hmm . Boobs aren't overly sensitive yet but I only have my last PG to comapre to and I didn't find out I was up the duff until I was 6 weeks + then, so am presuming that my symptoms will get worse over the next week or so.

Well I don't know when to tell my folks....if I can bring myself to break the news I'll do it tonight but I'm sure my Mum will be wondering why I haven't spoken to them since monday - I can't ring just for a chinwag without telling them....

Hope everyone is ok xx

BeatrixRotter · 12/11/2010 13:13

Stormbird last time around my FIL thought we were splitting up as DP was avoiding talking to him on the phone for weeks. I hope the cramps ease up.

BeatrixRotter · 12/11/2010 13:15

Sorry pressed enter too quickly then! Meant to say I was worried about my cramps the other night and they passed after a few hours. I am sure the uterus has massively expanded even at this early stage.

nicolamumof3 · 12/11/2010 13:53

try not to worry about the cramps too much had them with all of mine..feel like i've been pg for ever and only just five weeks tomorrow! Shock first time i've ever known so early.

Mitchell81 · 12/11/2010 14:10

I am terrible with wanting to tell everyone aswell. Quite afew friends and family know already. I found out on holiday 5 days before period due and wouldn't be seeing my relatives until after baby was born so thought it would be nice to tell them in person.

Scan went well, 6 weeks but got a scare when they saw two sacks. I couldn't imagine being pregnant with twins with having 3 kids already. But turns out to have been a blood clot which might explain the bleeding. So just need to keep an eye out for bleeding. Looks like my last pregnancy might land up being the most eventful. I have extra scans anyway from 20 weeks to look for the syndrome which my DD has and this will be my 4th C section.

SpannerPants · 12/11/2010 15:17

I found out on Monday, had an early scan because of pain and it looks like it may be twins - such a shock! They were only dated as 5 weeks today so I've got another scan in 2 weeks.

Its my first pregnancy so this is all completely new to me. So far I've gone up a bra size and feel tired, but only a little bit of nausea and no vomiting yet.

I'm completely overwhelmed and confused and excited and worried and just can't settle at anything. God knows how I'm going to get through the next few weeks!

notnearlyasblondasiwas · 12/11/2010 16:13

Hey everyone, trying to catchup on all the messages. stormbird am so happy to see you on the thread!

Spannerpants how exciting having twins! Your mind must be in a spin!

No news from me - am having terrible urges to tell everyone I meet but am stiflying that impulse at the moment. Have no symptoms at all, didn't get any sickness or nausea last pregnancy either. Am just hoping everything is as it should be. Am still doing test at every opportunity (can't help it, there are still loads in the drawer! Blush)

Am a bit worried as have just found out that I am not entitled to any enhanced maternity pay this time round as I will have had a previous maternity leave within 12 months (am missing out by 3 weeks!) Do you think I might be able to talk them round? DH thinks it won't be a problem but I am not sure sure as work are tightarses very frugal with benefits in this climate. Is a bit of a worry but am sure we will manage - be handy if it another girl, loads of clothes already!

TeaRocks · 12/11/2010 18:52

Hi all. Just checking in to say I am still here but might not be posting much as really suffering with MS. Dr has prescribed some meds because I currently can't keep anything down, not even water.

Dr said to remember this is all a good sign for the hormones but I've never felt this ill in my entire life so it's hard work looking for that silver lining!!

Look forward to sharing more with you all at a later date when, hopefully, I'm feeling human again. Take care all!

tebbles · 12/11/2010 20:31

Hello everyone!

Been a while since my last post and I thought I'd check in. Am a bit depressed as you all seem to be having various symptoms and I have none, apart from tiredeness and hunger which is not that unusual for me! I have had no bad symptoms though which is my only reassurance at the moment

Had a real rough day at work today and have been kicking myself for the last few hours. It was basically a lot of lifting chair/tables, carrying, cleaning for 7 hours. I should have said no and could have, but didnt and now I feel so tired and so so so guilty that I have done some damage!

nicolamumof3 · 12/11/2010 20:51

ah tebbles try not to worry, we moved house when i was just a few weeks pg last time and all was ok. As well as the constant toddler lumping around both last and this time!

i am beat, think im ready for my bed. Tiredness my no.1 sympton atm!!

tebbles · 12/11/2010 20:56

Thanks nicola! I just feel so stupid as it was really was unnecessary and now I am just tired and depressed about it.

Moving house is also on the cards for us. Will not be looking forward to it at all!

nicolamumof3 · 12/11/2010 21:06

how many weeks are you tebbles?

tebbles · 12/11/2010 21:20

7 weeks

Crazyafterthought · 12/11/2010 22:01

Hi, notnearlyasblondasiwas- I think you should look in to the maternity leave issue.
Maternity leave is still continuous service so any period of continuous service is full employment. If you came back to work within a year of starting the maternity leave you should be entitled to a further year of maternity leave. You have to do a year before you are considered for maternity leave in the first place.
I had less than a year back at work between my numbers 2 and 3. I was supported though in a public sector job and had some good union advice (which I didn't need to refer to as there were no problems). If you are in the private sector it may be more complicated but its still worth asking your representatives and other peers in other companies.

BeatrixRotter · 12/11/2010 22:16

Tebbles don't worry, I hardly had any symptoms last time except tiredness and massive boobs.

Sorry you had a rough day.

nicolamumof3 · 12/11/2010 22:39

im starving, anyone else more starving than usual? luckily got hubby on the case!!

StormBird · 13/11/2010 06:59

I've woken up RAVENOUS .....

Morning everyone - just POAS'd to double check as I've only done it once so thought a 2nd time wouldn't hurt....and sure enough HCG must be on the rise cos CB Digi now says 3wks+. Smile

I worried a little yesterday cos I didn't have many symptoms - I didn't even really feel that tired....silly me eh!!

Tebbles I hope your ok - everybodies PG's are different so don't worry. xxx

Tearocks I hope you feel better soon hun x

Notnearly I to think you should definately look into this Maternity leave issue - surely there's something they can do.

Spanner congratulations, Twins eh!! Thats fab. I've got 5 sets of non-identicle same sex twins in my immediate family..........not sure if this gives me an increased chance but we'll see....

Hope you're all well xxx

fallingandlaughing · 13/11/2010 10:47

Morning.

Can I just scuttle in here at the end?
Got a suprise BFP on Wednesday, told DP yesterday as he had stuff on on Wed and Thursday night. We are excited and a wee bit in shock. Happy though as we had been planning on TTC very soon.

Saw my GP yesterday and got a due date of July 22nd. I will probably deliver early as I have diabtes and epilepsy and they like to get the baby out as soon as it is ready. Should see my obstetrician in a couple of weeks to find out more and maybe have first scan.

Don't have many symptoms yet. A bit hungrier than usual and some slightly scary twinges. Boobs maybe a bit bigger but not sore. Not tired yet. Anyone else low on symptoms?

nicolamumof3 · 13/11/2010 11:03

welcome falling! And congratulations.

My symptons now increasing. Im 5w today. Feeling much more tired, abdominal cramps lessening, but boobs feel huge and sore now too!

BeatrixRotter · 13/11/2010 12:02

Hello to falling.

My bras are getting a bit tight so think my boobs are getting bigger. I was left a FF after the last pg so dread to think what I'll be after this one [shuddder]. I am also very hungry, the worst part for me is waking up in the middle of th night starving and not being able to get back to sleep.

Stormbird that is a good news, everything is heading in the right direction.

Eglu · 13/11/2010 12:33

Hi all,

Spannerpants so exciting to be possibly having twins. I wanted DS2 to be twins, but really want just one this time. Keeping my fingers crossed.

tebbles I'm sure you are fairly unlikely to do damage this early on. All fo the lifting etc. is really just later on when your ligaments loosen. Try not to worry.

I was wondering if those of you with other DC have told them yet, and what their reaction was. I have told my boys, since DS1 is 7, I want him to understand why I feel so tired just now. He is excited and wants a girl. DS2 just keeps stuffing things up his top and saying he is having a baby too, so he obviously understands a bit. Smile

nicolamumof3 · 13/11/2010 12:38

lol eglu thats sweet! I won't tell my boys til as late as possible they are 11.5, 4.11, and 3.4.

I shouldn't think ds1 will be very impressed, he's not so keen on his little brothers atm. The two little ones will be excited but they can barely wait til lunchtime let alone July Grin

fallingandlaughing · 13/11/2010 12:45

Thanks for the welcomes!

Felt a bit queasy while out at the shops there Smile

Looking forward to telling people. At least I can tell you guys at the moment! Two of my closest friends are due next year too (January and April). One has a DS aged 3 who is very excited, though he thinks the dentist tell my friend to say "aah" and will pull the baby out Mummy's mouth Confused. Is it that easy?
