Due July 2011?

MadAboutTheBoys · 24/10/2010 07:42

Just got my BFP this morning and so excited! Managed this conception while DH was out of the country so very chuffed that it worked! Already have two DS, one who is 3.2 and an August birthday and one who is 16 months and a June birthday so bring on the Summer parties!

Have never been part of an antenatal club on here before but as this is planned to be my last pregnancy am hoping to find some other July mums to share the journey with (although know I am very early!) Am already worrying how the birth will go as DS2 was born unexpectedly in the kitchen after a 90 min labour with the midwife only just there to catch him, so am a bit worried if subsequent labours are supposed to go quicker whether I will have anyone with me for this one, but at least I have a while to go yet!

nicolamumof3 · 17/12/2010 22:08

can you take glycerin lemon and honey? Xmas Confused

sues1974 · 17/12/2010 23:15

Hi wolfhound
im actually having my baby at St James in Leeds as under consultant led care there. just spoken to hubby and i think were going to go for the nuchal fold at the leeds screening centre. i said to him as its our 2nd baby its not like weve got the general outlay like we had last time and i think it will be worth it if it brings peace of mind, and if the worse happens then we will have longer to think about what to do.
thanks for the recommendation.

emmywoo · 18/12/2010 08:33

Thanks girlies. I have some glycerin lemon & honey so taking that. I am 9 weeks today and have been really sick this morning and not sure if it is through coughing or the start of ms, when did your ms start.

I haven't been able to catch up with this thread for a while, but had a scan this week and everything looks good! There was a baby wriggling about (quite a relief, at least I wasn't imaginging it!). The only downside is that I'm not quite as far along as I thought, so I got put back from 11.5 to 10 weeks. A bit frustrating as I was quite looking forward to reaching the magic 12 week mark... now I have longer to wait!

But we have been telling people now as I think once you've seen a heartbeat at 10 weeks the risks drop massively. We already told our families pre-scan.

It's been reassuring to read back on the bits of this thread I missed and see that others have had similar symptoms. I had a bit of pink spotting a couple of weeks ago (midwife said not to worry) and that seems quite common. I'm also finding that the nausea is easing quite a lot now, although I've eaten so much that I am going to need new clothes soon. In fact, already had to buy bigger work trousers as I found mine uncomfy when sitting all day at my desk. I will probably make a trip in the Jan sales to find some cheap stuff to see me through the rest of winter Xmas Grin

Schmaffy · 18/12/2010 11:29

Hello all, please may I join?

1st pregnancy for me (aged 30) and am absolutely over the moon though did not expect to be so unbelievably anxious about everything.

EDD - 12/7/11

I've had an early scan at 5+6 and we paid for a private scan this week which showed 10+3 as DH wants to tell people over Christmas (NHS scan 2/01). I'm terrified to tell too many people until magical 12 weeks but he says I'm being an overly worrying worry wart and that change now heartbeat has been seen risk is lessened - is this right?

Been so sick (lost a few pounds) and v.emotional (donkey sobbed my way through 'A time traveller's wife' last night.)Had uncomfortable abdomen for a few weeks now - stretchy/achey pain - is this normal? Any advice appreciated!

Congratulations to all!

Mitchell81 · 18/12/2010 12:57

Hi scan went well, due date now 4/7 and will be 12 weeks on Monday.

buttonmoon78 · 18/12/2010 17:31

Went flying on a frozen puddle under the ice yesterday and landed on my knee, hip and bum - am very ouch! Spent all night checking for bleeding but nothing so that's good.

I had my booking appt yesterday with the MW who I'm sure got her dates totally wrong - she said I was due 7/8! Never mind, I've got my second scan on Monday which should tell me where I am!

Got a whole load of maternity bits this week - some lovely dresses. I think this will be my most stylish pg yet!

Has anyone got any strong ideas yet on what they're having? I've got 2 dds then a ds but I'm utterly convinced (at the moment) that this is another girl. I'm sure I'll change my mind several times!

hollin · 18/12/2010 17:43

Hi buttonmoon78

there is no doubt about it I would love a girl

but obviousley would love a boy just as much have a ds aged 4.10 at the mo

would just love to buy some pretty pink stuff

sad I know!!!

xxxxx

nicolamumof3 · 18/12/2010 18:16

afternoon all. Feeling hugely bloated im sure i look more like 3m pg then the 10 weeks i am.

I have heard that the mc risk drops dramatically from 7weeks i seem to recall?

from 1in5 to 1in20 so must be even great after 10weeks?

I've got some mat stuff coming from ebay and can't wait as im finding normal jeans really uncomfy and had to pack my beloved skinnies away already..feeling a right frump.

I have three boys and no preference at all just a cuddly newborn will do me v.nicely Xmas Grin

go careful everyone in the snow/ice. We've had a snow day indoors today and def have cabin fever already!!

wolfhound · 18/12/2010 18:57

Sues - glad the recommendation was helpful. My DH really liked the Leeds Screening Centre scan as he got to see more of the baby because the sonographer was really good at pointing out all the bits, so hopefully yours will too.

hollin - i think the Leeds Screening Centre stats are on their website, and I got the NHS ones from a leaflet my midwife gave me. I think different NHS hospitals do different nuchal tests, so stats may differ a bit - if you ask your midwife you should be able to find out your local ones

mrbitey - your BIL sounds a bit of a fool. In my last pregnancy, I was shocked at how many people (often total strangers) saw me as a good person to tell their pregnancy/birth horror stories too. I remember one old lady who stopped me in the street (when I was nearly 9 months) to tell me how 30 years ago her daughter and grandchild both died during the birth. I had my toddler with me as well. Poor old lady - she was emotional about it, but there were surely better total strangers to confide in!

GruffaloMama · 18/12/2010 21:02

Oh god, wolfhound that's awful. I honestly think they think they're being helpful, IYSWIM? But they just don't think long enough about how it might make others feel... I had a shop assistant (in John Lewis's haberdashery bit, of all places) ask me at 37 weeks with DS whether I was going to have him naturally as I was so huge she thought I'd need help. As it turns out, she was right (forceps) Xmas Blush . But being told I looked ENORMOUS and frightening wasn't exactly encouraging...

All seems okay here. 9+4. Slightly less nauseous. Still getting occasional insomnia. Getting properly thick round the waist - am way fatter than I was at this stage with DS. Still not enjoying food but able to eat a bit more regularly. Schmaffy I think the achey stretching pains are quite common - I've had less in this preg but think that everything was still pretty stretched after DS Xmas Wink .

cara2244 · 18/12/2010 22:29

Schmaffy, we have the same EDD! I remember the first trimester of my first pg being very anxious and am even more worried this time!! And if you're emotional now, wait til you get the baby blues a few days after the baby is born....I spent Xmas day two years ago in floods of tears cos I thought I couldn't keep this tiny little creature alive (and he has never been ill in his life, he is ridiculously healthy!)

Scottygirl10 · 19/12/2010 09:18

Hi ladies, looking for some reassurance... Spent hours yesterday rushing around trying to get presents etc, got home had bowel movement, and noticed very light pink and wattery staining on the tissue? No pain and not had any since. Irritated cervix perhaps from the 8 hours solid on my feet? Have decided not to panic. Had this at 8 weeks ( tho not so wattery) and everything was fine at scan. Got my 12 week scan on Friday anyway. Prob should just rest. X

LadyGoneGaga · 19/12/2010 09:42

Hi Scotty sounds like you might just have overdone it a bit. If it's only a tiny bit of spotting not much to worry about. See if it goes away today aftr some rest and if not then contact the EPU again to set your mind at rest. Take care.

cara2244 · 19/12/2010 10:01

Have woken up today feeling fine and now I am worried!!! For the past month I have woken up feeling horrendously sick and struggled to get out of bed.

LadyGoneGaga · 19/12/2010 10:11

Cara you may just be turning the corner on your MS - it often goes away/eases towards end of first trimester. Or you may just have a brief respite - yesterday I was able to cook and eat a whole roast dinner and enjoy it. Not sure I could today!

Awful isn't it though - we feel shit when we feel awful and shit when we don't!

OIckletownofbethlehem · 19/12/2010 11:29

Very sad news indeed Jamhs, your in my thoughts.

OIckletownofbethlehem · 19/12/2010 11:32

Feel blessed for at least one day's respite Cara, could be back with a vengeance tomorrow - eat, eat like you haven't been able to for the past few weeks!

Still have flu so not sure whether sick cos of MS or just sick geenrally. Big day tomorrow, doctor's appointment for chest infection, flu jab (maybe) and also first scan tomorrow! Bit excited, bit scared - and all on my birthday too!

Isn't yours tomorrow too Gaga?

Hope you're all having a relaxing Sunday

nicolamumof3 · 19/12/2010 11:52

i feel awful...again...thought i was over this but can't move from sofa now. So much to do as well. My poor dh is poorly but rushing round doing everything inc. making a roast. I hope i can eat it!

Jamhs so sorry to hear your news, take care of yourself xx

LadyGoneGaga · 19/12/2010 12:13

Thanks for remembering, Oickletown. Yep, first scan tomorrow - 8+4. Quite nervous. Also got my booking in appt with Midwife so big day here too! Good luck with yours.

I'm full of cold today. Still in my dressing gown Blush.
