Due July 2011?

1000 replies

MadAboutTheBoys · 24/10/2010 07:42

Just got my BFP this morning and so excited! Managed this conception while DH was out of the country so very chuffed that it worked! Already have two DS, one who is 3.2 and an August birthday and one who is 16 months and a June birthday so bring on the Summer parties!

Have never been part of an antenatal club on here before but as this is planned to be my last pregnancy am hoping to find some other July mums to share the journey with (although know I am very early!) Am already worrying how the birth will go as DS2 was born unexpectedly in the kitchen after a 90 min labour with the midwife only just there to catch him, so am a bit worried if subsequent labours are supposed to go quicker whether I will have anyone with me for this one, but at least I have a while to go yet!

cara2244 · 15/12/2010 13:34

wolfcub my friend argued with her OH like mad during the start of her pregnancy. I, on the other hand, spend far too much time with my head in the toilet to argue with anyone.

wolfcubEm83 · 15/12/2010 13:45

OhLouey what make of doppler do you have? Im also 12 weeks on Friday and id love to have a listen to its HB but thought it was too early. Ooh, that can be my party trick for xmas day!! (if i ever get round to telling my parents)

[wolfcub] since i found out i was pregnant me and my dp have really struggled. I am not sure why, possibly because i havent felt positive about pregnancy even though this was planned - weird i know, feel so irritable and sick i try and keep my distance. That coupled with dp giving up smoking, not the best/happiest atmosphere in my house!

Anyone thinking of any good excusses for not drink. Got an annual christmas meal round close freinds on Sun, emails today were all about kicking back and relaxing, they are going to know as soon as ii say im not drinking, went out couple of weeks ago with them and said i wasnt well, dont think theyll fall for it again.....

wow thats some stats list!!

cara2244 · 15/12/2010 20:48

Icklelilly a 'complaint' of pregnant women. All I do is moan!!

Wolfcub I hope so too...right now I would rather be hormonal and moody than sick :-(

ItIsILeclerc · 15/12/2010 22:21

Evening ladies :) I feel bad even mentioning my MS, it's so mild compared to what some of you are going through Blush It isn't too bad, better than with DD, but I do spend most of the afternoon and evening wondering if I am actually going to puke. Means I'm not eating very much in the evening - last night was particularly impressive: ended up getting Chinese takeaway so had hot and sour soup, an entire serving of prawn toast (DH is veggie so they were mine all mine Grin) and then icecream for pudding (this has just reminded me that there is icecream in the freezer, hooray!). So much for my desire for fruit & veg! Blush

Found today that chewing mint gum helped a bit, if that's any good to anyone. Wondered if mint tea might be good too, it's supposed to aid digestion. Might go and give it a go.

isitreally best excuse I heard was to say that you're really hungover (also explains vomiting and needing to go home early Wink). Otherwise you can just order mixers from the bar and claim they're G&Ts/vodka cokes or whatever.

wolfcub Also wondering when to tell people. Would only tell close family before the scan anyway, just in case anything is wrong, but even though we saw the HB last week I still feel strangely reticent. It still doesn't seem real! Plus it doesn't really feel like the kind of thing you just drop into conversation. My family are all going to in-laws this year so we're having a late family Christmas lunch on 28th December, so might do the cheesy

buttonmoon78 · 16/12/2010 06:52

Good news - DD's arm not broken. And DH has been offered a job. It's a bit less money in the short term but probably better prospects in the long term. And of course, when I say less money technically that's not true as currently he's earning nothing!!!

So it was smiles all round in our house last night and possibly a small glass to celebrate Wink

inbetweener · 16/12/2010 09:58

Morning all,
Sickness is back today. I had to get off the bus a stop early and buy some polo's I have SUCH a disgusting taste in my mouth today !

buttonmoon so glad DD's arm isnt broken thats a relief !! At least you havent got to deal with that over xmas !

louey sorya bout the bleeding although I can relate ! Mine comes and goes day by day ! I havent got my booking in appt till 11th jan so cant really discuss it with anyone although I have my scan booked for 6th Jan so might mention it then ? Agghhh its so stressful..

well we are very busy here today at work ( says me on mumsnet lol ) we have SEVEN peole off sick ! A little last minute xmas shopping do you think ?? Hmm

So I had better get on I guess.

Eurgh I really do feel quite rubbish this morning, might have to eat something.

hefner · 16/12/2010 10:02

I'm glad your daughter is ok buttonmoon and congrats on your husband's job.

I've had my booking in appointment with the midwife, and my scan is booked for the 21st. Being booked in made it all feel more real and I've been really excited this week. I'm a bit worried because my only symptoms were sore boobs and a bit of nausea and they've both eased off now, fingers crossed that everything is ok on my scan. We're hoping to tell family at christmas if everything goes well until then.

inbetweener · 16/12/2010 10:03

OH and ItisiLerclerc I had chinese ;last friday, I really, really wanted it but it took so long to arrive by the time it came I was feeling nauseus !!! I ate a little but ended up throwing up the chow mein and yummy prawn balls sob sob Sad !!!!!!!

I want to try again tommorrow night lol Grin

scrivette · 16/12/2010 11:01

inbetweener my booking in appointment is after my scan too, I will be 13 weeks for my scan!

Ickle, Cub, Scotty and MissLolita, it is my first too.

Pleased to hear your daughter is okay buttonmoon, good news about the new job.

I went out for a meal last night, all my favourite dishes I couldn't eat, prawns, calamari, mussels, it was so hard trying to decide what to have!

Scottygirl10 · 16/12/2010 11:50

Ha a 'complaint' of pregnant women, I like that one! ;) perhaps a 'waddle' of pregnant women would be apt towards the end ;). Got my 12 week scan on Christmas eve, I look so hellish in work its probably the worst kept secret ever! But it'll be nice to have a piccy to accompany the 'news'! X

Icklelilly · 16/12/2010 12:00

A 'complaint' certainly sums me up at the moment!

There are some very sensible and restrained people in this thread 9well done scotty girl, my family knew about the pregnancy at 6 weeks, some colleagues at 9 weeks (some guessed, I told 2)and now my whole team at 11 weeks and 2 days! My scan isn't until next Monday either. I will feel very sheepish if things are not as they should be Xmas Blush!

Has anyone else spilt the beans early (too early?).

Smiler80 · 16/12/2010 12:26

Hi all! Haven't been to the thread in a while - hope everyone's getting on OK. Anyone been for their 12-week scan yet? Mine is in 1 week's time and I'm so looking forward to it!

Anyone feel they're showing yet? I'm starting to worry people at work may notice: my belly has definitely popped out (not claiming it's all baby but it does look completely different from before). My dad said I'm probably just "letting it all hang out" until I showed him on Skype what it looks like with my abs tensed to the max! Quite pleased about it really :)

Mitchell81 · 16/12/2010 13:28

I am sitting outside the hospital now waiting for my 12 week scan, think I am 11 weeks though., will let you know how I get on. I told some family when I was about 4 weeks pregnant as was on holiday with them and did the test when on holiday so couldn't keep it a secret. Will be longest pregnancy ever!!!!!!

sues1974 · 16/12/2010 13:42

icklelilly I didn't tell a soul with my first pregnancy (apart from OH) until the scan...but this time I had told 10 people within 3 days! It is hard to explain away the morning sickness misery and that's why I've told people at work. We're having friends over on Xmas day and I think I'll have to tell them as they'll wonder why I'm not drinking (much).

inbetweener I share your pain - I keep ringing OH on his way home from work and asking him to bring me various things (fish and chips, Chinese, olives) and am ready to bite his arm off when he walks in the door.

buttonmoon good news on both counts. I'd have a little glass if it was me :) I had the odd little glass of wine during 1st pregnancy as I figured that if I said no alcohol, I would want to drink and it would drive me crazy. that said, the thought of alcohol makes me want to puke at the moment!!

Do any other second timers feel more terrified about something going wrong with this pregnancy than the first time round?!? I am so worried that there will be a problem when I have the scan. Maybe because I know what is coming this time (i.e. a baby) whereas last time I didn't believe it until he was born. Strange but true.

Couldn't even get out of bed today until 12 but after a walk and some food I feel a bit better and have even started writing xmas cards.
