Evening Ladies, blimey this thread moves fast when you're not around to read it!

Welcome travispickles and Running where in the Midlands are you, I'm south Midlands ( Confused )so have Krispy Kremes available at Milton Keynes plus dh commutes and has a tesco opposite his office so may have to send him for some tomorrow - Krispy Kreme are King!!!

Was having pains at the top of my bump earlier but as nothing at the bottom and no period pains thought it couldn't have meant anything!

The lack of sleep is nearly killing me, especially as I had to be up at 7am today (didn't realise there were 2 7's in 1 day!) for the builders/plumbers to come in at 8 and they didn't bother turning up til 9.15 - so spent the morning hiding at my mum's to avoid them and then spent 2 hours in Tesco (no Krispy Kreme's :( )this afternoon aimlessly wandering until I knew they had left and then reappeared home!

Tea tonight was rump steak with home made italian potatoes with mushrooms with a rocket, tomato, onion and balsamic dressing salad - god it was good even if I do say so myself, followed by banofee pie and am currently eating a large bag of Tooty Frooties Blush !

AmI think I also have caught the exclamation mark disease!!

Right will add my stats to the other list

I was going to watch One Born Every Minute but the DP wanted to watch something else and wouldn't let me. He said he'd prefer it all to be a surprise Hmm My unusual bad-temper surprised him alright Grin

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 10/01/2011 21:37

Can I just calm any of you first-time mums that if you are watching One Born Every Minute, that the reaction of the ginger bint is NOT NORMAL!!! Honestly - me, Rock, Fuzzy & Lady (and all the other millions in the world) - would not be going back for 2nds and more if that were normal

RunningKatie · 10/01/2011 21:49

Dear heaven, that ginger woman was awful, and as for Ralph Hmm - I turned to DP when he first opened his mouth and said "he's a kn*b".

Pootle, I'm in Derby, apparently a Krispy Kreme's black hole! :)

Pootle78 · 10/01/2011 22:11

Running were you sat next to my husband, he said exactly the same!!!

But to be honest, by the end he really felt for him and has said if my mum tried to pull rank on the emcs, he would have slapped her!

Will watch 'one born every minute' tomorrow on 4oD. DH is already petrified as am I. Went and got a bargain on a cotbed today so very very pleased about that and then bought myself some nursing tops. How very clever they are!! Can't wait to go for a coffee and lop my boob out the side unnoticed :)
Was walking home and started to get really bad shooting up pains that actually made me jump. I mean feet left the floor! Is that normal or should I be calling the ante natal ward. I haven't had any period like pains but I do and have been suffering lots from these sharp shooting pains. Please someone just reassure me this is not abnormal...

LadyBuzz · 10/01/2011 22:20

running & pootle exact words from me too Grin although I did feel a tiny bit sorry for him at the end and my DH said the same as yours Pootle!!

I'm a proper puff with pain and I did not show myself up like that awful woman!!

gallicgirl · 10/01/2011 22:33

Runningkatie - get up to Belper, go to Fresh Basil for cake. It's far better than an over-priced Krisp Kreme!

I had my third bowl of Frosties after dinner and I've just eaten a bar of dairy milk. The DP has stopped commenting and just rolls his eyes. I'm not bothered as it's not like I've put on a lot of weight and I'm justifying it as the baby knows what she needs.

saltnvinegar - not sure about the shooting pains but I've had a few in my back over the last couple of days. Any chance it could be sciatica or is it too high?

I'm going to watch OBEM on 4OD too although I'm tempted to make the DP watch it too. He did mutter something about washing-up but there's no sign of movement yet. Oh well, can't make his sandwiches for work until the kitchen is clean, can I? Grin

Who's the momma now?

CupcakesHay · 10/01/2011 23:33

Nice to see you back ryuk - I was wondering where you were!

And yeah travis hello - and we're dewf obsessed with Krispy Kremes, Bra sizes and "lady gardens as running delicately put it - and seeing as i'm off swimming (well - floating) tomorrow - I'm now thinking I might have to do some contorting and have a check what my costume looks like in the mirror!

Had a lovely evening - fish & chips were YUM and puz quiz was fun and my hip feels a little better - was even walking properly on way home - well, less limpy!

And salt where's your pain - it might be a trapped nerve from baby moving into a stupid position?

pootle poor you and the evil builders turning up late - but your tea sounded delicious!

And you are all braver than I am watching one born every minute. But of course - i had to sky plus new series of glee - thinking of name changing on here to glee-obsessed-cupcakes! Grin

And big exciting Devon news (kind of) the new tescos isn't opening until the 8th feb now! So i am praying that the baby does beat the arrival of it - although i was hoping to let my waters break there so i can get freebies - but alas - wasn't to be!

Ok - let me update.... (and thank you whoever did updating - i kept meaning to do it - but i'm far far too lazy!) - and crystyl - it's your first right - and rock stuck DD in for you!

Shanster · 11/01/2011 02:33

salt, I have had a couple of shooting pains, feels like the baby is trying to jab his way out of my cervix. Was doing a presentation in work last week when it happened and it was strong enough to take my breath away.

Completely snowed in here in Atlanta, no thaw forecast until Saturday which is DD1's birthday, eeck! Haven't got her presents yet and we have already run out of sugar for my tea. On the bright side, working from home today was lovely, and the extra hour in bed was priceless :)

travispickles · 11/01/2011 05:51

Hey all! Another shit night's sleep (yes, all good practise, I know but still... )with lots of dreams of traumatic childbirth. I blame the lovely Steph (OBEM) and her anguished shrieking! My partner and I are both secondary school teachers and recognised an autistic kid straight away in Ralph - very typical and quite amusing (if tragic, especially at the end).
As for ladygardens, I have toyed with the idea of trying to tend to it (at least so that the midwives etc can find the exit!) but worried that I may end up making situation worse...
Btw - do they sell Krispy Kremes at all Tescos? Couldn't find them on line shopping here but may be worth a visit....

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 11/01/2011 08:10

Same here about Ralph travispickles - we're both school teachers too. DH's words were "def. up there on the spectrum" - felt awful for him as mum was asked to go to the emergency C-S and not a word was said to him. Bless him though for sobbing once the little thing was out.

Close your ears to this bit travis but I slept like an absolute log last night! First time in months - think it helped being up all night with crampy contractions the previous night and a friend visiting me in the evening forcing me to stay up beyond 10 Shock.

DD2 came in at 6 to wake me, snuggled in bed with me and we played a bit, then I fell back asleep so DH took her off, put a wash on (another accident from DD1 :(), got them dressed, gave them breakfast, and I woke up in time to put their coats on and wave them all goodbye.

RockLover · 11/01/2011 09:11

Morning ladies. Well no cramps last night, but felt REALLY poorly after taking my iron tablet. Very nauseous, upset tummy and very anxious about everything. Think my hormones are conspiring with the iron supplements to make me feel dreadful.

Still feel a bit grotty this morning, but can't go back to bed as napping makes me feel worse as I wake up shakey and disorientated. I am getting really nervous about how on earth I'm going to get through labour and birth if I'm feeling this crap.

I was contemplating walking into town to get some last minute hospital bag stuff from Superdrug (no Boots here), but I just know with all my aches and pains I won't be able to waddle to and from town without feeling awful afterwards. I can't drive there either as parking is a nightmare (and expensive), it's great living in a tourist town! Grrrr!

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 11/01/2011 09:14

No public transport to rely on? You always get a seat being pg!

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 11/01/2011 09:17

Sorry, clicked that before I meant to. Sorry you're feeling crappy still. Would it be worth giving either docs or mw a call to let them know you're feeling shit? Sounds more than just pre-labour pains to me if you're shakey etc :(

RockLover · 11/01/2011 09:21

No, it's not far enough for a bus ride. I'm literally a 5 minute walk from town, however the High Street is ridiculously steep and Superdrug is right at the bottom. Getting back up the hill again is always a nightmare for my poor achey bits (not to mention my squished up lungs).

I sound pathethic I know, but this is what it looks like: it's steeper than it looks here.

RockLover · 11/01/2011 09:24

Well, mw already knows that the iron is making me feel ill and I just have to get through it unfortunately.

But the feeling shakey after napping thing is actually normal for me, I've always been like it, hence why I rarely go back to bed during in the day.

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 11/01/2011 09:28

Fair enough - doesn't look like a walk I'd like to do either in my state. I didn't even pick the girls up from nursery walking yesterday, and that's on a flat road about 10 mins walk (if that!) because of feeling so uncomfortable. Thank fuck I'm no longer at work running round school chasing naughty teenagers.

Can DP pick stuff up for you on the way home from work?

ZippyPippy · 11/01/2011 09:32

Oh my goodness I am not watching one born every minute again, I had nightmares last night - that screaming banshee women was horrendous!!!!

Don't be too jealous but I'm off for my pregnancy massage this morning Grin
