enough of the krispi kreme talk Envy Envy Grin I even googled the nearest stockist last night 120 miles- boo Sad

Had a crap nights sleep last night, no reason particularly. Grrrr!

Been for coffee with my friend this morning, got another coming this afternoon with her baby so that will be nice.

I've got a busy week of coffee meetings this week Grin

DH finishes work for Pat leave on Friday - its all getting close now!!

LadyBuzz · 10/01/2011 12:11

ooooh while I remember, is there anyone having a boy that needs a snowsuit - I have 2 identical ones - Big fluffy brown bear with ears in newborn and 0-3 months.
I also have some beautiful hand knits in blue a winter hat and a sheepskin style coat in 0-3.

If anyone wants any of them let me know - I don't want anything for them, just happy for them to go to a good home! I found a bag i'd forgotten about yesterday.

Don't be too Envy LadyB - they've both now gone, they were only the chocoloate-covered ones with custard filling - and I have to venture either 1.4, 2.9, 3.5, 3.5, 3.8 or 4.1 miles for my re-fills :o :o :o >>evil grin emoticon

AmIGoingMad · 10/01/2011 12:46

Hello!
Congratulations flora! How exciting!
Happy belated birthday bubba!

bubba and rock sounds like things are starting to move along for you!

Didn't make it on here at all yesterday as my little sis had organised a baby shower for me- it was lovely! Then it also meant that I had to spend the full morning getting those reports done by their 12.30 deadline- I managed it! Yey! I can now actually start my maternity leave properly!
On the nursing bras front I've ordered some more Bravado ones in the next size up from what I'm wearing now. They've been soooo comfy through pregnancy and are stretchy and expand for different cupsizes. John Lewis do them but I got them off the nursing bra shop online.

I've been wondering about the whole bump dropping thingy too cupcakes

Also- does 4/5 engaged necessarily mean anything's imminent? It's my first so think I've heard that that means head engages for a while before labour? I'm so clueless!

Fuzzywood · 10/01/2011 12:49

Right here's hoping for 3rd time lucky, keep writing posts then the disappear!
Not BU at all Bubba I could do without someone elses kids if mine weren't around. Shame about the cramps stopping. I had a couple of weird pains last night but they went away after about 20 mins. Not sure I want anything to start yet though as really not sure which way baby Fuzzy is pointing now. Have a mw appointment tomorrow morning so she can check if its still heading South.
I'm so glad I'm in the UK rather than the US, I whinge about work quite a lot but very grateful for the maternity policy they jave. Glad your employer is looking after you JJKM
I need a bad mummy emoticon today as CBeebies is my friend today. Though in my defence I am planning on going to the church toddler group later.
Better make DD some lunch and drag her away from the TV

mimou · 10/01/2011 12:58

Hello ladies,

Thanks for kind words. I am feeling a little better now as DS was at nursery this morning so I went back to bed as soon as he and DH had gone out and slept for another two hours. Just woke up and realized I now don't have any time to do any of my jobs before I have to collect him (including making dinner), so am sitting here MNing and eating left over crisps and salsa for lunch. That should help with the hearburn, hey! Grin

Cupcake I'm due on the 30th, though wouldn't mind him coming a few days early. Not before the end of the week though, as we don't have anyone to look after DS when I'm in labour until then when my parents are coming down.

Really feel for little sis. Not only am I about to pop but of her two best friends one has a four month old and the other is 14wks pg both on their first attempts. She is confiding in me because I also had MC before DS, but it's hard to be really supportive at a distance, esp. because of the time difference. I'm never around when she needs me.

Fuzzywood · 10/01/2011 13:16

Oh Mimou hope your sis is ok, I'm sure she appreciates any support you can give.
AmI I think that the engaged calculation works 'backwards' in that the bigger the number the less engaged the baby is. I think the way it works is that the number they give is the amount of the babies head that they can feel above your pelvic bone, so if its 4/5ths engaged then they can still feel that much of the head above your bone, if it gets to 2/5ths its moved further down as less of the head can be felt. I may be completely wrong though, don't know if anyone else can help?
Cupcakes you may well notice that the bump has moved down as breathing becomes a bit easier but you will need the loo more if that's at all possible Smile I didn't really notice a shift down the first time but a few people who saw me noticed. Think mine has moved down a bit this time in the last week or so.
Right better get going for toddler group, really can't be arsed but I did promise.

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 10/01/2011 13:25

You're right about the engagement bit fuzzy - doesn't seem logical to me but it's right.

RockLover · 10/01/2011 14:15

Hi all, nothing major to report here. Still feeling a bit crampy, but it's more on and off than very definite contractions last night.,

My tummy has continued to play up all day though, lots of needing the loo tummy ache as well as the period cramps. Not sure what's going on really, but I'm not really feeling that great, my nausea has kicked in with a vengence, so I'm hoping that will settle soon.

I have to venture out in what can only be termed a bloody monsoon down here in Devon, to do the school run in about 30 mins. Really can't be arsed, but I can't leave dd at school over night can I....or can I? Grin

Still have a massive pile of washing up to do and clean laundry to fold, but I just don't feel like it, I've done nothing today (apart from nap) and I feel a bit guilty about being so lazy.

I hope the last few things I have ordered for my hospital bag come soon, I really need to pack it, I'm getting a teeny bit panicky about it all.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 10/01/2011 14:38

Exactly the same feelings here Rock >>spooky emoticon

RunningKatie · 10/01/2011 14:39

AmI - I'm 4/5 too on the engaged thing and have been for a fortnight, so ages to go as we need to get down to 0/5.

I did 20 lengths of the pool, then went to the pub for lunch where I nearly fell asleep in my lunch.

I've never had a krispy kreme, and my nearest stockist is 53.7 miles away apparently. Shock

DP texted to say he'll be home around 4pm so I could go for a nap to listen to my pregnancy relaxation CD upstairs before he gets in.

gallicgirl · 10/01/2011 14:52

mmmm krispy kreme..you shouldn't have reminded me! Do you all know larger Tesco stores stock them?

I did have a bowl of Frosties today which was awesome and I even finished the milk which is pretty surprising as I don't drink milk!

I'd been panicking all weekend about baby's position following last week's ECV so went to the hospital this morning and they confirmed she's head down and engaged so that's good news. I didn't realise though that you start at 4/5 and work down to zero. I'd have thought it was the other way around.

After the hospital trip I went to Matalan to exchange something and found a perfect nightie for birth at the bargain price of £6. Also got some basic baby bits from Waitrose so all in all, a good shopping day.

Now I've just got to do the domestic goddess stuff before the DP gets home around 6:30 :) Plenty of time there for more Frosties and a nap I think Wink

Rocklover sounds like things might be gearing up a bit for you. Are you all excited?

Mimou Hope you're ok. Must be so hard for your sister and the middle of the night is always the worst time. Everything seems so much worse then, doesn't it?

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 10/01/2011 14:55

RunningK I'd never even heard of one before a friend brought me one in to the hospital when I was imprisoned staying there last time with DD2. Never looked back!! :o

CupcakesHay · 10/01/2011 15:28

afternoon - just been for a 1.5 hour lie down Blush

Hmm going to google nearest krispy Kreme - but imagine it's miles away.

Limped down to Boots (beaten by lots of OAPs on zimmer frames again!) and got my TENS machine. my mum said to the woman at the counter "she's not very good with pain" tsk!

Venturing out for Fish & Chips and pub quiz tonight - but being lazy and driving there as can't make 2 walks in one day!

rock PACK YOUR BAG! Naughty girl!

mimou I feel for your poor sis - it's taken me 5 years+ to get pregnant, no MCs - which must be heartbreaking - but it's heartbreaking enough people telling you they are pregnant all the time "we weren't even trying" - and a friend also had qan abortion in that time, which was a whole nother heartbreak for me at the time - as I was trying to be supportive to her - but crying inside! Anyhow - i'm here now..... and hopefully you'll sis will get her third CD eventually.

*running8 so impressed with your exercising! I'm def going to go to the pool tomorrow. Haven't actually been swimming in England for about 10 years Blush - is there any etiquette that's changed??? Can't guarantee any swimming - just planning to go to float and maybe kick my leg a bit - figure anything to help my hip get less stiff!

Hope you had nice time with friends bubba and made them make up the spare bed! That's what friends are for!

gallic My nighties finally arrived! Hurrah - so at least we won't be naked giving birth Grin - ell, we'll have the option not be naked!

And rock def a monsoon for devon! I missed most but got caught just as I was limping on the last 2 mins home - so was a little drowned rat like - at least it gives me excuse for fuzzy hair!

CupcakesHay · 10/01/2011 15:30

Ps. rock do you own a boat? Closes Krispy Kreme to Devon is in bournemouth - so we can take a boat and go and get some donuts for me, you and crystylline....

gallicgirl · 10/01/2011 15:47

I'm amazed that huge Tesco at Roborough just outside Plymouth doesn't stock them. Perhaps you could ask the manager?

gallicgirl · 10/01/2011 15:47

Although if you don't actually live in that part of Devon, it's a bit of a trip just for expensive doughnuts!

Grin
Crystylline · 10/01/2011 15:57

sorry guys, went to Bristol to buy Krispy Kreme Grin Grin

bubba and rock blimey, blimey... sounds like things are moving along - lucky peeps!

just got back from my first foray into the rl world of ante natal clubs, well mums and newborns. was lovely to meet some local folk with little ones, though all theirs were at least 3 mths old. feeling v. broody now!

monsoon weather continues in devon. am now resolutely staying here, in fact afternoon PJs and hot chocolate may well be the order of the day!

CupcakesHay · 10/01/2011 16:10

gallic - yeah could go to tescos - but agree - kind of long way to go! But there is a tescos opening here soon (24th) - so hoping they might have one - although have just Blush sent a list for DH to pick some up from paddington station on the 26th!!! How bad am i???

crystlline bet it ws lovely to meet some other mums. Saw one of my mum's old neighbours this morning who has a 5 eek old... she was just over 7lb when born - and looks soooooooo tiny! Can't believe i'm goign to have tiny baby soon!

Off to my antenatel class/thingy on thurs afternoon - so kind of looking forward to it.

LadyBuzz · 10/01/2011 16:13

errr if any of you do go for Kripy kremes could you post me some - I can't imagine DH would agree to go to Manchester for our food shop tonight - Why don't my tescos do them - ITS HUGE!!!

you can tell what my shopping will consist of tonight!

RockLover · 10/01/2011 16:22

Cupcake I don't own a boat but my DP's friends do :). Wouldn't the Tesco's at Lee Mill do Krispy Kremes? I know the Tesco's near my parents do. That would only be a 20 min drive for me!

I really want to pack my hospital bag bubba, but my nightshirts are still in the post!!! I have pretty much everything else, even bought some Capri apple juice drinks and cereal bars to pack for snacks yesterday.

However I'm not ready for baby yet, still have to clean our bedroom up and make the cot habitable. Plus my parents are coming down as soon as I go into labour with the pushchair, carseat, moses baskiet and steriliser. But Mum has flu at the moment so is in no condition to travel to look after dd, plus obviously she is contagious. So I CAN'T go into labour now!!!!!!!!!!!

RockLover · 10/01/2011 16:23

I meant a 20 minute drive to Lee Mill, not the Tesco near my parents....that would be nearer 4 hrs!

CupcakesHay · 10/01/2011 16:38

rock I was in the same situ as waiting for my nighties, but you will feel so much beter having it packed and then you can pop the nighties on top. you know it makes sense!

if it were up to me, i'd drive all night to get Krispy Kremes, but it's hard enough making my dad stop for a wispa bar is hard enough!!!! Knwo what you mean about not being ready - but it needs to come at some time Grin

Watching Doc Martin - i love that show!

ladybuzz write and complain to your tescos - they might sort out the krispy kreme situation.

Don't want to start a witch hunt - but this is all bubba's fault! Envy

I wonder - will we get to 1000 posts on here - or antoher baby popping out - what will come first?

My parents are constantly debating the "Hayley having the baby" or " tescos finally opening" debate! I'm praying it's tescos - but they do keep putting hte date back - so who knows!

RockLover · 10/01/2011 16:48

I am keeping my legs firmly crossed for the time being, this little ine can stay put for another week at least.

Those cramps I had probably men nothing, loads of ladies have them on and off for weeks before going into labour. So for the time being I am going to ignore them and get on with sorting stuff at home. Besides I haven't had any periody pains since lunch time now.
