Evening all,

Ooh it's been lovely to read so many posts today! Have had a big tidy tonight, while children where at Granny's so now everywhere is spotless! I'm also with the takeaway vibe tonight, although had too many chinese's later, maybe tikka/shish kebabs and coke tonight. Then I can kid myself that it's a bit healthy when I scoff the salad!

Nova, don't often go to Sainsbo's but the babywear is sooo cute!

Yes, I'm with Bob, stop teasing us Boots voucher-less lot with your goodies will you!

Just waiting for dp to come back from training, I'm a bit with him at this moment in time as I'm half watching American Chopper and mildly enjoying it !! What has he got me into?! I will get him back by doing a bit of internet shopping with his card. Silly man to leave it lying around! Heehee!

Have lovely weekends everyone x x x

i got a work meeting, dont see the point as i'm leaving in 3weeks! But i get paid for it so its not all bad.

I had my takeaway last night, a nyummy pizza!

anyone else finding the monologues in eastenders monotonous and incredibly cheesy?

xxxx

ChaCha · 23/09/2005 20:33

Evening all,

Nice to see you back Pinkminx, glad you're feeling better now.

I declined the take away - couldn't stomach that kind of food in the end and nibbled on the mash on DH's cottage pie (couldn't stomach the minced meat after i'd cooked it hence original need for take away). Feel i've achieved a lot today chore wise and in helping DH with his paperwork etc.. but am so tired right now I don't know what's wrong with me. Feeling so heavy (someone just mentioned this) and claustrophobic!! Think i must just be getting tired and i'm fighting it as i really cannot go to bed at 8.30pm on a Friday night, I mean..would you?

ChaCha · 23/09/2005 20:40

Am feeling like there is no space in my tummy...WTH..is this the norm? I don't feel i can breathe....puff pant!

babyonboard · 23/09/2005 20:57

aw...i went to pilates..then left soon after arriving ..should have taken advice and not bothered at all..also annoyed as it cost me £12 for about 20 minutes, and i felt bad in front of all the others...
I am going with the takeaway thing..might have thai as there is a lovely place nearby..not sure if they deliver, but maybe they will as we are regulars and i will ask nicely!hheheh
chacha..despite all my talk of food and rejecting exercise, i so know what you mean! I havbe foundi eat half the portion I normally would, and stilll feel horribly full, it all seems to sit on my chest if you know what i mean.
Just trying to pick a film to watch but they all seem a bit bleak..we have 'palindromes', 'born in a brothel' 'howls moving castle' and 'bullet boy'...?
oh and 'monster in law'..hehe..seems very appropriate!
have any of you seen these?... what can you reccommend?

pinkminx79 · 23/09/2005 21:05

my dp is the manager at blockys, so i see about 7+movies a week, never seen any of those though! depends what mood your in
the passifier is quite funny if you need a comedy/baby movie LOL

xxxx

ChaCha · 23/09/2005 21:06

Sorry your class was so pants, typical!
Haven't seen any of those movies, but at least you have a choice.

Pinkminx - You mentioned Eastenders..is it that bad now, lol? I haven't watched it in ages - deliberately!

pinkminx79 · 23/09/2005 21:14

yeah, its really dull, but its an addiction my mum has watched it since day one and shes thoroughly bored with it.

babyonboard · 23/09/2005 21:21

we watched quite a good 'baby' film lately about the adoption trade in mexico to rich american women..quite sad, but realy good!
I have just looked at the trailers for all of the ones I mentioned...hmmm
Palindromes, is the story of a 13 year old forced into an abortion
Bullet Boy - has one of those 'so sold crew' rascals in it, and is, need i say, about gun crime in south london
Born into a Brothel- is a documentary of a photographer who met children born into brothels in ccalllcutta and then taught and hhelped them..
I think the last one seems like the best, by all accounts it is quite uuplifting.
oh and monster in law.. is jlo 'meeting the parents' a dumb comedyy.

pinkminx79 · 23/09/2005 21:29

i'll have to ask dp about some of those films, sound quite good..do any involve tanks? should i pretend just to get his attention? LOL
saw sin city last night. very good, if you like those kind of films

xx

babyonboard · 23/09/2005 21:33

yeh..i watched sin city reluctantly..same as i di with layer cake..
i said 'they're not my kind of films' but loved both of them
sadly i don't think there are any atnks in these..hehehe maybe a few guns and such though...but lie anyway!
i'm still too indecisive to get up and put something on..hehehe!

pinkminx79 · 23/09/2005 21:49

i got elf and anchorman last week, i felt so christmasy!

xx

babyonboard · 23/09/2005 22:30

Random question..but am I cluless in not knowing where estonia is!? I pressumed ex-russia..but...hmm...

babyonboard · 23/09/2005 22:44

oh no..now feel super bad...it is a former ussr state but so, so ,so far from dp's country..
i only bring it up as i asked a woman at pilates where she was from and said 'oh so you are quite close to 'dp's country'' ..but no...argh!
for those with kids..but actually most of you will be excited!... have you installed

earth.google.com/this

It's so amazing..dp almost wet himself when we first saw it..but he was a big fan of atlas;s2 and globes as a child.
We actually zoomed in on his gran's building from when he was small..most amazing!

babyonboard · 23/09/2005 22:48

ooops...messed up the link..try again
please work!?

babyonboard · 23/09/2005 22:53

oh no..I'm taking over the thread!..you must have felt some light relief when I was bed ridden..heheheh
As you nght have guessed..the food and films didn't hold my attention..
Pink..I loved elf! so funny..if a little mean.hehe
as for anchorman..i liked it but fell asleep ttehhhee

Enthusia · 24/09/2005 08:54

Morning all

I watched part of Eastenders last night for the first time in a while and ended up in hysterics with DH as we took on the parts of Sharon and Den. As you can imagine I had my eyes half closed, was panting, having 1 minute pregnant pauses and flicking my hair around - apparently I looked a bit like a porn star - whilst DH kept turning his back to me, staring into the distance and doing his bit from Friends when Joey tries to work out 13 x 13 to get that 'I'm thinking look' It was sooooooo funny!!!!!!!

We watched 'White Noise' last night which has Micael Keaton trying to contact his dead wife through EVP - sounds and pictures caught on tape when you record static. Apparently it is based on real research - ie. EVP and had me completely freaked to the point I couldn't sleep and would only go to the loo at points when DH was awake. All this was not helped by DH having a nightmare about it at 3am and screaming!!!!!!

Bubs is definitely taking up heaps of room now, in bed this morning it felt like he was battling his way out - it was so strong!!!!!!

Right off to get ready for NCT, will post any interesting info on Monday.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Morning all, just slid out of bed , ooh, I love having a lie-in!

Just catching up on last night's posts. I still have a bit of space for food, but that could be due to me having not much carb at the moment. I was out with the girls & would normally have had spaghetti carbonara but had to settle for some salmon a veggies - much less filling.
There were 6 of us last night & 2 of them didn't know I was pregnant. We only meet up 1-2 times a year as we can't always manage to meet up due to shifts (mostly nurses)Anyway, after the inital "OMG what happened to you??", one of the others pruduces a 15 wk scan photo!! More hugging & general OMGs. Then the 6th girl to join us arrived in the middle of our starters & announced she was 15 wks too!! So we had a 50% pregnancy rate at the table. You can imaging what we all talked about !

On the subject of food, Goldenoldie - a chinese isn't a bad choice but you'd have to watch the quantity of noodles. It would be impossible to calculate how much carbs you'd be getting in the meal. Obviously, something like sweet & sour chicken where the chicken is battered, I'd avoid. I was also told that if you think you've had too much carbs, do some gentle exercise, like going for a walk. Personally, I'm more likely to pull my own fingernails out than go for a walk after a chinese takeaway. I thought the point of this meal was to stuff your face until movement of any sort was impossible??

Not seen any good movies for ages. Watched Troy recently & thought it was a pile of poo. Brad's naked thighs didn't make up for his wooden acting, I'm afraid. On sky movies we seem to be watching endless streams of Jumanjii, Mrs Doubtfire & Harry Potter on a loop. Still it keeps the kids happy. BTW, as you may know, I have only one kiddywink but have inherited 2 stepkids. Gone from one bundle of responsibility to 4, very soon. Yikes. Must have a look at the threads on step-parenting.

Don't want to take up too much space on the screen so I'll get off now. Have a nice weekend, all.

novadandypowder · 24/09/2005 11:22

chacha, I'm actually the reverse of you now, I can eat more than I have done the entire pg and my breathing is much better than it was a few weeks ago. The mw assures me that baby still has a couple of weeks of growing upwards to do yet though. Saying that I am quite good at sitting correctly, I find if a slouch then it really crushes my lungs and stomach.

Bob, what a very bizarre choice of movies you had last night. I find I don't have the concentration span for a movie at the moment, can just about get through an episode of CSI.

Will post later as DH is listening to annoying music..

ChaCha · 24/09/2005 14:05

Nova - You're right - I think correct sitting posture has a lot to do with it all. I do tend to slouch a lot (sheer laziness) and find that I can't get out of the armchair once in it!! What is helping your breathing? I get out of breath after a few trips up/down the stairs.

Enthusia - Enjoy NCT today, keep us filled in.

Weather is gorgeous this end of the woods! Am having a couple of friends over at 3 which I'm really looking fwd to as DH is working and feel I need some good company. My friend had a baby girl a couple of days ago, just seen a pic - major reality check! I can't believe she is a mummy and I cannot believe the little girl! WoW!

Oh..had a prescription through the post for ferrous sulphate (iron tablets) apparently blood tests show i'm slightly anaemic..anyone else on iron tablets? Might explain my sleepiness at times.

Have a lovely weekend girls and if you've got some good weather enjoy it. TTFN.

pinkminx79 · 24/09/2005 17:57

My doc said my blood is ok and dont need any iron supplements (there goes the excuse for Guinness and Red Wine BAH!!)
I've been getting like heat rashes on my hands, arms and legs, could this be a circulation prob? it gets red, raised and itchy then disappeared. I dont think i'm allergic to anything

got go ahead for government mat pay today YAY for maternity YAY!!

tex111 · 24/09/2005 19:30

Hi gals, just popping in to say hi. Just found this new thread and you're already over 400 posts!

Wanted to share the news that I did a Demi last weekend and had a maternity portrait done. Not totally starkers, I did wear a sarong wrapped around my hips. Boobs and belly are fine but the arse and thighs are best concealed! It was lots of fun and I felt really beautiful. Definitely recommend it if anyone is considering it.

Seeing the consultant on Monday to book my cesarean. I saw the midwife this week and the baby has started to engage! Of course, being a second baby she could pop back out again but I hope it's a sign that she wants to make an early appearance. I've enjoyed the pregnancy for the most part but I'm ready to see my baby now.

Hope you're all doing well. Beks, are you doing the refresher course at the PRUH in a couple of weeks? Thought I might bump into you there.

pinkminx79 · 24/09/2005 19:42

tex, when are you due?
nice work on the pic, i actually have a photo shoot thing booked pre pregnancy, maybe i should get it done? You've really got me thinking now!!! thanks xx
