BOB, you naughty thing!! WOW thats 74 pounds worth is it! When are you going to spend them? You should spend them on yourself! And soon because when baby comes you'll want to spend them on him! Or maybe you could treat your MIL !!

How cute Karma - where is the reindeer dust from? Although I've got both ingredients in my cupboard could make it with them closer to the time, that would be nice....and make up some cheesy story to go with it! I'll have to write that in the ole diary though or I'll just forget!

Better haul my bum up now and get dd from school!

babyonboard · 23/09/2005 15:38

I have to agree...enough xmas talk! It'll just encourage bad weather as my nan always says..hehe!
as for the boots misprice..i did feel a bit guilty, but stocked up my basket with loads of other things to make sure it wasn't obvious so probably spent mmore than I wanted to anyway, hehehe
actually one time the counter lady, was like oooh isn't it great, i've sent my daughter in for loads of these as well1hahaa..they obviously didn't care.
bad thing is i've used most of the toiletries myself or given the sets to friends, so don't really have any for tot..will have to go shopping!
i'm actually saving the points to put towards a good digital camera, as I imagine we will need one very shortly!
maybe i could inverst in some 'kalmz' herbal remedies for mil aswell though..hehe

BEKsmum · 23/09/2005 16:19

Afternoon girls, wow you lot can chat, I looked in this morning and there wasn't much going on and then I look in now and it's taken me 20 mins to catch up.

Bob, what is your mil on? I'd be absolutely fuious, I agree with Enthusia about the sealant, great idea. Yes it is frightening to think we'll all be mil's one day - god help my dil!!!

Enthusia remind us all not to upset you - you're evil

I love Christmas now I've got kids, it's just excellent. Chacha i reckon we must be related 'cos I believed till I was about 10 too!!!
My mum used to get us to pick a cardboard box out at the supermarket obviously approximately the size she was planning to fill and then my brother and I would decorate our own box with crepe paper and glitter etc ready for santa to fill.

We've started some traditions with Ben now too and at 3 last year he was just gobsmacked at finding a castle in the middle of our lounge plus a mountain of other presents too. I love spoiling him I just can't help it!!!

As I only registered with Boots yesterday sounds like I'll be getting my vouchers in time for bumps 1st birthday!!!

Hope you all have a good weekend, Ben's drama classes start again tomorrow and we're out to lunch of Sunday with friends who are moving to Hong Kong for a year so will catch up with you all later Beks (32+5)

BEKsmum · 23/09/2005 16:29

LilJ · 23/09/2005 16:56

Hi all.

Today's my 37th birthday - eeeeek. Totally weird that it's my last birthday before I'm a parent!!

Gosh everyone's been busy chatting away. Great info on cats. I've got two and was worried about how they're going to react. They're polar opposites - one's very affectionate and needy and loves anyone who walks in the door, the other won't go near anyone but me (and has a mutal hate thing going on with DH). You hear horror stories about cats smothering babies etc. but we've got the cat net for the cot and frankly I think the cats are going to be completely freaked out by the baby and stay far away, so not too worried. They've been my babies for the past 6/7 years so I don't want them to feel left out.

Filing my grievance against work on Monday so next week might be a bit stressful! But I know I'm doing the right thing so not going to let them get to me.

Well off to B-day dinner with DH and my brother - Sardinian food, Mmmmmmm pasta.

J

karmamother · 23/09/2005 16:58

Twinkle1, sounds like you need to use your honey & chamomile bath essence to help you destress! I've just come back from Boots with not much, it was only a small branch so I couldn't use many of my vouchers. I did look, however, for the most expensive thing in the No7 range - got some serum to make my skin look younger (£16). Reckon I'll need it after bubs is born.

Anyway, off to make myself look adorable now as I'm out with the girls tonight for a meal. Sadly, no pizza for me, I'll have to find a low carb meal instead.

31 wks today!

babyonboard · 23/09/2005 17:02

LilJ..for me, busy chatting away for want of anything better to do other than clean or preen..hehe..
and enough talking about cats and free boots goodies! I want them!..a kitty would be the best company for me right now!
karma..have fun!I'm sure you'll find something tasty...
Just pondering whether to go to antenatal pilates tonight..it's pouring with rain, and as my spd has been so bad lately I don't want to push it..maybe a night in bed with films and food will be better for me!hehehe

twinkle1 · 23/09/2005 17:11

babyonboard,
Stay in and have a takeaway and pamper yourself im going to have a thoughrouly unhealthy chinese tonight, take a bath in my boots stuff and do Bu**er all Weather is also bad here so im going to snuggle up with a hot water bottle

twinkle

babyonboard · 23/09/2005 17:13

Oooh sounds good twinkle!..tempting me!
I will feel bad though as the pilates is the only real exercise I get all week, and it's only a five minute walk away in the gallery down our road..
hmm..

novadandypowder · 23/09/2005 17:15

Happy Birthday LilJ

Am I the only one who never shops in Boots?? I'm a Body Shop/Lush/Sainsburys girl.

We do save our nectar points though through the year as a kind of christmas club. We've got about £60 worth of vouchers so far and it's only september . Once we start adding nappies and the like to it we should be able to get a bumper christmas food shop at sainsburys this year.

novadandypowder · 23/09/2005 17:16

Bob - go to pilates then pick up a take away on the way back

babyonboard · 23/09/2005 17:23

nova..we havew= saved with sainsburys too..but then i found out you get £5 for every 500 points at adams, rather than £2.50 at sainsburys..havent checked if they have nice baby stuff yet, but if they do then thats where our points will be going!hehe
rain has stopped which improves my mood for getting up and doing something, but i'm not sure i can face it today..i don't feel very sociable or energetic!

novadandypowder · 23/09/2005 17:36

OMG Bob! if it's double at Adams then we'd be able to get loads of stuff!! must investigate...

goldenoldie · 23/09/2005 17:39

Happy birthday lilJ.

Karma - with GD, can I have a chinese takeaway - please? I thought noodles were OK?

babyonboard · 23/09/2005 17:46

oooh..and happy b,day lilJ!..sorry, I suffer from pregnancy related absentminded-ness...

ChaCha · 23/09/2005 17:50

Happy Birthday LilJ!

Twinkle - Jealous again of more Boots goodies! It's so not fair [stamps feet at injustice]. No really, good for you, sounds like a night of pampering then...lovely!

DH is out tonight and working ALL weekend. Wonder if i should follow suit with take away etc..

babyonboard · 23/09/2005 17:58

Just added up..(see how bored I am!) we are at 4098 posts right now..plus one after this hehe..!

babyonboard · 23/09/2005 18:02

and chacha..do it! dp is also out tonight, so i feel it's my prerogative to get a takeaway and avoid the cooking and washing up etc..not worth it for one!

goldenoldie · 23/09/2005 18:33

Enthusia - joining you on the e-bay fest. Have bought two cots on e-bay. Bringing my total upto 4!

Now just have to get some new mattresses, bottles, bouncy chairs, cot mobiles, blackout blinds, pram, and pack my hospital bag.................

48 inch waist now. Recon I will hot the 50 inch mark by the end of the month - eek!

pinkminx79 · 23/09/2005 19:01

things i pickd up (sorry didnt havetime to read all the posts)

Tescos - are also doing the nappy wrapper bin at £15
Brown Line - , i'm very fair skinned so i dont think i'm getting one!
Baby movements - Not as often now, and yes, when she moves, she can stick a foot in a rib and it HURTS!!
shopping- I think i'm all shopped out now, just got to get the cot now, but we're not sure what size to get. I spent £70+online at boots getting little odds and ends for our hospital bag, i also have new nighties/slippers/dressing gown/toilettries etc etc...well i'm excited LOL!!!
Illness - I'm alot better now cold wise, but i'm feeling the strain of pregnancy with post cold head! I feel spaced out and heavy, my appetite has almost gone, I'm also getting the pregnancy blues, wondering if everything is ok, is that pain normal etc? anyone feel like this?

xx

babyonboard · 23/09/2005 19:16

Oooh..the linea nigra (or whatever it's called!) i actually got one when I was 16! no explanation..my mum noticed it when we were sunbathing in the garden and madre me go to the doctor suspecting i was pregnant, tehehee
he was baffled too..he said it usually only happens in pregnant women. however, it faded and i don't have one now at almost 32 weeks..very strange!

babyonboard · 23/09/2005 19:23
