Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Londoner · 28/09/2005 16:23

Grrr, just did a post and stupid internet quit on me.....
Have to try & remember what I said...........ummmmm
karma - thanks for your understanding, I think it's because I only started posting on here early September time so I just assumed you'd always been around... only just saw all the posts welcoming you when trying to catch up today....
As for something comfy to wear during labour... I always pinch a really nice large cotton shirt from my husband.... just perfect in every way...
Jen sorry to hear about your stressful meeting/annual review, sounds like you have every right to be upset to me. Sounds as though they feel your pregnancy/impending motherhood is an unknown quantity and they're proceeding with caution to me... which is obviously wrong and means they are discriminating... not really what you need right now is it? Can you seek advice?

Londoner · 28/09/2005 16:24

bob... hurraaah! See you there!

Londoner · 28/09/2005 16:32

Also, a late welcome to Kate7 from me if you're still there? Just saw that you joined recently too. So sorry to hear about all the complications you're experiencing with your baby, it must be really difficult coping with conflicting emotions, and being unsure as to exactly how this diagnosis will affect your new baby. BTW I also have a 6 year old daughter... cute aren't they!

babyonboard · 28/09/2005 16:40

Oh no..just realised I should be out to meet friends in less than half an hour and am still in comfy 'house clothes' with no make up etc..haven't taken the meat out of the freezer for dinner..clothes just washed waiting to be hung....washing up is still sitting there..argh..and still I can't tear myself away from my comfy chair right here..hehehehe
must get up and out of the house!
may hve to write dp a list of things to do before i get home..lovely way to greet him when he gets home from work!

goldenoldie · 28/09/2005 16:50

JenJam - your review sounds outragous. Are they taking the pi.. because you are pregnant? Did they say your work was not good enough? If not, they should give you the same payrise as everyone else. And why has your promotion been dropped - sounds like pregnancy discrimination to me.

Sod double the stat. minimum - why can't they pay you your salary for a few months? Afterall - how long have you been there and given dedicated service............

hamster · 28/09/2005 17:02

Hi everyone,

I feel a little out of touch coming on here!
I've been on my hols, and my best mate has just had a little one, so have been up to my eyes in chaos! By the time 8pm comes every night, I'm ready for bed!

So how is everyone?
I haven't had chance to read back through, so any good gossip...send it my way!

Well, as far as my pg is going, all is well. Have had both my Anti-D jabs now, so I won't have to have another until afterwards..thankgod!
I have suddenly had a spurt, my bump has gone mad, it's lower than last time, but sticks out a whole lot more. Even my maternity clothes are getting tight nevermind...5 more weeks to go.

I'll catch up when I get chance next, I hope everyone's pg are going great

xx

Hi all. Looking forward to Friday.

JenJam - I can totally understand where you're at, the grievance letter from my solicitor arrived in the office today and I keep on getting weird stares from the girls in legal, so I'm not sure how they're going to react to the whole thing. But I was passed over for promotion and demoted and can only be because I'm pregnant so not going to let them get away with it. If you want my solicitor's details I'm sure you could have an informal chat to see if you might have a grievance. It does sound like they're trying to be generous with you but not putting it the right way - the thing you have to decide is what you're willing to acccept and make sure they know that you know your legal rights if you do feel like they've discriminated against you because your pregnant.

J

JenJam · 28/09/2005 18:36

stuff the job i'm going to focus on being the best mum in the world for the next 9 months

JenJam · 28/09/2005 18:39

forgot to also say lilJ and goldenoldie thanks for the support - i'm going to park my feelings on how the review went for a bit. LilJ thanks also for the offer of a good solicitor.....

Enjoy your lunch at wagas on friday, Jen

pinkminx79 · 28/09/2005 20:01

ok, another day anothe rmillion posts, cant wait to start my maternity leave so i can have conversations YAY!!

Enthusia - I'm still waiting for that 'surge' of energy i've heard rumours about LOL
Rodeo - Thanks the BH have calmed down, but i'm aching lots
Karma - see that blur over there? thats me running cos of what you said re labour pains LOL
Londoner - when is your edd?
oh and i totally recommend drinking peppermint tea for the indigestion, Gaviscon is gross and has a similar consistancy to the stuff that got us into trouble in the first place

had antenatal today everything ok, fundus 36cm, baby is sat on my nerves hence the bad BH and pains in my bits
why cant my doc be more precise? It seems most of you ladies get a lot of info on whats going on! Oh well, will see MW at the hospital next week

hope you're all keeping well

xx

karmamother · 28/09/2005 20:19

Lol at pinkminx!! I've never liked Gaviscon either...its strictly last resort! [wretching emoticon] As for GPs, IME (& many of MNers too) they aren't always the most reliable source of info. You'll get more joy with your MW.

Oh, I forgot to add in my description of contractions.....if you subscribe to the Sheila Kitzinger school of thought, they are like the petals of a rose opening up. Feeling better? Thought not. The woman's a nutcase.

Twinkle1 - you're the same gest as me but because my bubs is breach, she's not headbutting my bladder. She just dances on it instead. Assuming yours is head down, your bladder capacity will be reduced so you pee smaller amounts more frequently. As long as there's no pain & your wee is light in colour, it doesn't sound like a UTI. Sending hugs.

Wish I was coming to Wagamama's on Friday . I live in the North of England & I'm busy packing for my move on Saturday. Can't wait to hear how you all get on in RL!

pinkminx79 · 28/09/2005 20:24

re the wee...i can pee to order now, it hits hard doesn't it? it doesn't start slowly, you just HAVE TO GO and NOW!!!! LOL i need to go every 5minutes, i read somewhere, when you go, rock back and forth a bit, get it all out so it wont be a short gap til next time He he!

and what was that malarky about bloomin roses?????!!!!!! lmao

xx

twinkle1 · 28/09/2005 20:28

twinkle
fat & full of cranberry juice!

babyonboard · 28/09/2005 20:34

can so sypmathise with the weeing thing..it would seem worth it but i go so often and feel so desperate then it's just a trickle! argh!
Just did a major brain-wrong..I can't be trusted to behave sensibly anymore!
I was taking washing out of the machine and noticed the hob and knobs were grubby so gave them a good scrub..then spent a few minutes in the bathroom hanging stuff up and came back for the rest , then got an overpowering smell of gas..I had turned on the gas on the oven whilst cleaning and not realised! argh!
Good job dp wasn't home and had casually strolled in there and lit a cigaretee!
needless to say all windows are wide open and I am feeling like an utter fool..but cold to..hehhe

ChaCha · 28/09/2005 20:35

Have been asleep for 3 hours, sitting up! - really tried to fight it am hoping this DOES not mean NO sleep tonight. What to do?

Jenjam - Hope you're feeling a bit better now. I can't offer any advice but sending you cyber hugs anyway.

Nice to see you again Hamster.

How are Nova and Enthusia today? Very quiet.

Has anyone else decided on names? WE have chosen ours.

No one travelling down from anywhere Northish for meet up then? I'm very good company on the motorway...

ChaCha · 28/09/2005 20:38

Oh BoB!!! You must be more cautious!! DH did something similar about a month back. He came home for lunch (I was asleep) and made himself some chips, went back out to work leaving chip pan on (thankfully on low heat) and I discovered it a couple of hours later when i could no longer stand the smell. Very lucky indeed!

pinkminx79 · 28/09/2005 20:39

we like the name emily for our little one, not sure how she'll cope if she turns out to be a he!!

Bob hope you're ok, see, cleaning can be dangerous!!

xx

babyonboard · 28/09/2005 20:42

chacha..i know..and we have had so many times that our previous lodgers have left the ring or grill on and I have gone crazy at them..I am usually very aware of such things myself..scary!

babyonboard · 28/09/2005 20:44

hehe.and pinkminx..it can indeed be dangerous....maybe this is cause enough to get dp to do it all..or perhaps get a cleaner on MIL's credit card..hheheheee..she does owe us!

pinkminx79 · 28/09/2005 20:53

oh definately! I'd love to get a cleaner, i'd never be able to afford it, and Dp hasn't got a clue pfffft!!

xx

babyonboard · 28/09/2005 20:53

but in better,,and more normal behaviour news.I had a lovely afternoon in blackheath today..we were on a cafe overlookng the green and i had..gasp..two pieces of cake!
didn't feel so bad when we got the bill and friends realised they had gotten through 7 botles of wine in two hours! there was 6 of us..and i had one with soda but still, means at least a bottle each for them..oh i miss those days!..hehehee
was nice to be with lots of friends and have non baby-centic conversation if you know what i mean...

pinkminx79 · 28/09/2005 20:57

i know what you mean...now i cant think of anything else to talk about at the moment LOL

xx

sarahsausage · 28/09/2005 21:10

Hiya all,

Not posted for a while, too many posts to read properly tonight so hope you are all well, will read them all with a coffee in the morning.

Had midwife appt today, baby still breech but everything else ok. She said if baby doesnt turn then it will be another section, rather that than them trying to turn baby, ouch!!

Still havent bought anything, havent even picked up pram yet. And all yo ladies are talking of hospital bags?! Really should get organised this weekend. Time just seems to be slipping away at the moment.

Have picked a name for a girl and a middle name also but not too sure of middle name as then baby would have the initials ARS. Think i should think of a different middle name or is ARS ok? Have no idea at all for a name for a boy.

Rodeo -- WOW!! 12 days, thats just crazy! Wonder how long it will be before the next one of us joins you! Even if i had a section if baby stays breech, will still be middle of november, a whole month after you.

Sarah 31+1

pinkminx79 · 28/09/2005 21:14

ARS...hmmm kids can be cruel, same with me and Dp, we have to be careful about names, not the initials, but his name is a bit dubious aarrgghh hard to explain LOL!!!

nighty night girls, i'm off to have a long bubbly bath and beddy byes

i got work tomorrow

xx

ChaCha · 28/09/2005 21:25

Well, I had sent an email to Boots Customer Services asking about my Parenting Club stuff. I've just received an email saying they have no record of my application and have registered me today!!!!!
Guess I'll be receiving my vouchers when baby is here!

I am so wide awake! oh no...
