Bloody hell! I've only been away from the computer for a few hours and I've got loads to catch up on! No wonder I never get anything done!

Right I'll just leave you this link first before I start reading and forget! BTW I've ordered 2 Bravado bras so instead of 24 pound each they are 19 and they don't charge P&P either.

Figleaves voucher!

Enthusia · 23/09/2005 14:17

ChaCha - have also just done dishwasher and washing machine, luckily bubs is all at front at the mo, so no probs bending down luckily!!! One thing that was interesting last night was that physio said that if baby gets stuck, is in uncomfortable position, moving or kicking lots - go down onto all fours and do a rocking pelvic tilt. It should get baby moving out of awkward position. See if it helps!!!!

ChaCha - loved your christmas memory - when did you realise that they were responsible for all those fab pressies!?!?!?

Londoner · 23/09/2005 14:27

OMG thanks for the Cat Info link Enthusia, but oh dear, it looks like I have the worst type of cats to combine with a new baby.... one an insistent door-scratcher who will do anything to wrap himself up in my hair, the other one who runs at the sight of visitors but is completely devoted to me.... looks like I'll have my hands full eh!

Londoner · 23/09/2005 14:30

Thanks for lingerie link rodeo1, vast improvement on Mothercare selection that's for sure.... wow, check out that silky black bra!

novadandypowder · 23/09/2005 14:32

I knew it Chacha! Whenever I saw your name I thought 'I wonder if thats from Grease..' Good choice .

Well the rain killed off my urge to walk to Portobello and get a subway sandwich, had to make do with heating up last nights leftovers for lunch. There's no choc in the house so I may have to venture up to the corner shop later though...

Bob - I'm with the others on MIL . On the dec thread one of the women has gone through trouble with her DP's nan - she'd booked to take the baby on holiday next year (when it would be 5 months old) without asking her. I can't believe she expected to take a baby away without it's mother for a week! without asking!! Thankfully my parents won't be able to look after baby, and PIL are great.

I allow myself to think about christmas after my birthday too (5th nov.) Think thats why I love the season change because it means celebrations are coming..

rodeo1 · 23/09/2005 14:35

Ah Chacha, that memories so cute! When did you all stop believing in Santa? I was only 5! Which I thought was normal but Bella still believes at 6b so I think 5 was a little premature. Remember asking my mum 'Is God real?' 'Yes, love' she replied. 'Is Santa real?' (They were the same kind of thing in my eyes) 'No, love' she replied. 'Oh'!!

ChaCha · 23/09/2005 14:36

Enthusia - Not sure but maybe when Santa stopped drinking the milk or eating his cookies!!! I was horrified to wake up one morning and find the milk still in the glass (dad had been on a nightshift and came home knackered - had forgotten all about the evidence). Think mum came up with a good excuse though. Why did i never question the fact that Santa could NOT get down the chimney as we didn't have one?!? Hmm..

Enthusia · 23/09/2005 14:38

OMG - cleaning the bath and had a weird thought (hope that isn't just me that happens to) one day we will probably all be MiL's. I wonder if we will still be in contact - can you imagine us 'You'll never guess what my DiL/SiL has done now' Oh dear.......

OP posts:
ChaCha · 23/09/2005 14:42

Rodeo - You cannot be serious! 5 is way too young...I think i was much older than that, better not make any guesses as it could turn out to be something like 10!!!!
I don't do the Christmas thing anymore but I have many fond memories - decorating the tree and putting the lights on at night and feeling all cosy was probably my favourite as well as the traditional Christmas dinner at my Aunt's house where they whole family congregated. Now that's another story and another book of memories!!

I've been on here for ages

babyonboard · 23/09/2005 14:43

gosh..it's busy busy busy on here this afternoon!
Laughing to myself at the similarities between problems with babies, cats, and mil's and nans..teehehehe...
mIl just gets worse and worse..She also bullied my dad into making two 40 mile trips to pick up baby stuff from her friend who is emigrating...a nice thought..except it's all things that we have already got new of or don't want or have space for!
(musical electronic baby swing springs to mind!)
my grans garage is now full of random baby stuff..when my dad turned up to unload it my grandad joked that he was panicking my gran had something to tell him..hehe
...guess some will be useful for when we visit..i shouldn't sound too ungrateful!

novadandypowder · 23/09/2005 14:43

lol Enthusia xx

Great link for the cat leaflet - Thanks

Can't remember ever believing in santa .

Enthusia · 23/09/2005 14:44

When I was little we spent some Christmases with my grandpapents who lived in a flat. My grandad told me that santa used to land on the roof, come down the emergency stairs and then would push his elves though our letterbox with my presents, as he was obviously too fat to go himself!!! And when I got a bike one year and asked how they had got it through my letterbox he said that one of the elves had woken him up and asked him to open the door for a special suprise for me.

My grandad was great - he had a brill imagination and would even have nonsense conversations with my DH before we were married about where they had parked their helicopters etc.... he was 70+ then and my DH 17, luckily DH was just as mad as him!!!! ahhhhh I miss my grandad!

I don't rmemeber when i stopped 'believing' ..i think I still pretended to for a couple of years at least ..but as i have two younger siblings I got to have all the fun up until i moved out anyway!hehehe

babyonboard · 23/09/2005 14:52

Aw..i can't wait to do all the christmas fun stuff!..shame dp isn't remotely interested, they didn't even have christmas when he was small!argh!..hehee

rodeo1 · 23/09/2005 14:53

Aw, Dp's cousin was still believing in Santa at Senior School and got into a fight about it at school because he thought that his mum would never have been able to afford the bike he'd just recieved for Christmas

Bob you're MIL sounds awful! Is she just doing it to wind you up or is she just mental? Thanks for the Boots tip BTW may ring customer services now and maybe they'll give me some extra points!

I bet everyones got loads of Boots points now after all this baby spending - come on who's got the most? I've got around 1450 which is pretty good for me, anyone else willing to divulge?

Enthusia I bet you're on 50000 or something now! And what a git on the bus! Sounds like something from a sketch show and would have been quite funny if he hadn't have hurt you

ChaCha · 23/09/2005 14:55

Enthusia - your grandad sounds brill!

Nova - Sorry that you didn't get your subway sandwich but am very envious of a walk down the Portobello Road, you can't imagine how much that place brings back memories. I've not long reheated friend's leftovers from yesterday but don't taste quite the same. I'm still hungry!!

Well, it's been a busy day on here ladies. I think i really MUST go and get on with something before i go google eyed.

rodeo1 · 23/09/2005 14:57

Aw Enthusia your grandad sounds lovely! Right we'd better stop now on the Xmas front or we're going to annoy all the scrouge's seeing as we're still in Sept

babyonboard · 23/09/2005 15:05

rodeo..do it, they were very nice..and it's worth a phonecall to try. I am hoping it will put my application to the top of the pile too!
And i can beat you on advantage points..hehe..i have 7504..
a few months ago boots were doing a promotion on 'little me' baby gift sets whereby you got 500 free points on each one..the naughty thing was they scanned in at £2.99 each instead of £9.99 or so..so were effectively minus £2 each!
needless to say i got a few of them...
maybe thats why some of you have found the sets so cheap on ebay!?

Londoner · 23/09/2005 15:05

What d'you mean, there's no Father Christmas?
My 9 year old (10 in a few weeks) still believes.... I do confess to being slightly worried now, but he's so convinced, I haven't made any attempts to lie to him for years.... it's time for him to know I think, but he has to work it out for himself or find out from his big brother as I don't think it kind to outright just tell him, my mum never told us, we just understood at some point..... she still gives my sisters and I stocking fillers!.. it's too much fun to stop...

karmamother · 23/09/2005 15:17

Thanks for the cat tips, Enthusia! I too, have a "door scratcher" so we'll have to deal that later.

I love re-creating the Santa myth for my DS. He's nearly 9 so I know it won't on for much longer. Thankfully, new bubs will enable me to relive the magic for a few more years yet! Has anyone seen those packets of reindeer dust? They contain a mixture of oats (for them to eat) & glitter (to light the way). You sprinkle it on your carpet on Christmas Eve, from the fireplace to the chair you want the presents to be left on. It's great fun for the little ones to do.

Enthusia · 23/09/2005 15:24

MMMmmmmmmmm Christmas Mulled wine air freshners - my house fels more homely already.

I remember I put them in my classroom last year and used to find the staff hanging round in there chatting as it smelt so homely and relaxing!!!! One teacher used to poke her head through the door everytime she went by just for a sniff!!!!
