GYo- it takes away the whole nausea and sickness for me... when a pill is wearing off i start to get the nausea kicking in then i know it's time to take another one. I mean i still get odd waves of nausea- but nothing compared to what i'm like without it!!

Have 1st MW app today, GP wanted me to get in straight away- maybe i'll be seen more regular with DD2 being prem? not sure...

GiraffeYoga · 07/09/2010 10:54

Wow that's great Cant. What a difference that will make the whole pregnancy thing.

Good luck with the MW :)

cantmummyhaveabreak · 07/09/2010 11:07

GYo- you'd prob need to really exagerate nausea to get given it tho... They only gave it me with DD2, after a hospital admission. Wasn't given it with DS even tho i was admitted 4x and had to stay over a week each stay as i'd got so ill!! As i have previous history of 'full on' illness that gets out of control very fast i'm now given it much easier. :)

GiraffeYoga · 07/09/2010 11:14

Its good to hear that they have taken you seriously and are actively managing it.

I was actually thinking of it making your pregnancy easier - rather than for myself in the future. Dont think I'd qualify :) since I was very luck with the SG, and didnt suffer too badly.

Can't - those meds sound fantastic and sounds like you really need it with 3DC to look after and how bad your sickness can get.

GYo - have posted on your thread. Very timely as we were just talking to the company that provide the catering for our nursery this morning about the special diets for DS and DD. Still needing to provide DD with food until November, but fingers crossed she should go onto food provided by them then. Have just made some gluten, dairy and egg free bread in the bread maker this morning, so really hoping that it tastes okay as the stuff we buy for DD from supermarket is rubbery and hugely expensive. Is so difficult getting a gluten free bread that is egg free. Hope you can sort something out for your DD - sounds really tough on you all and I bet that is contributing to her clinginess with you too.

Am really chuffed, made homemade fishcakes with veg for lunch and DS liked it so much he wants it as his birthday lunch tomorrow instead of fish fingers and chips (his all time fave!). Is lovely when your DC appreciate your cooking, isn't it!

Have also made a decision that for next 5 months, we will put my wage into savings each month, except for the nursery fees, which we will pay out of it. That way we will get a feel for whether we can manage on DH's income alone, as am thinking I may give up work for a couple of years when DS starts school next year and not go back until DD has started school and we can then plan childcare around one schedule instead of two. Is still just in planning stages at the mo, but keeping fingers crossed it works out!

Right, am supposed to be working while DD naps (not a work day, but have stuff to do). DH has taken DS to get his hair cut before he goes to work. Peace reigns for 30 mins or so!

Diege · 07/09/2010 16:36

Hope you got your 30 mins of peace STAR! Your future plans sound good;great idea to try out things finance-wise first; you're very organsied!
CANT how did the midwife appointment go? Really glad the meds are helping, that must be such a relief.
Hope everyone is well - back at work now so posting might not be so regular!

Yes,let me know how the fitting goes TINKS -oh and I also was also in Iceland's BBQ summer campaign 2006, with a lovely 'husband' and 'daughter', looking on admiringly as my 'husband' did creative things with the salad tongs Grin. Was good fun and great money! Kate Moss was worried Wink
Have been wondering how SES got on with the ovulation??
Right, better get the bus, back later x

Starshinetiger · 09/09/2010 09:34

Morning all. Getting a chance to scan, but not a chance to post regularly. DS' birthday yesterday - a bit subdued as he had tonsilitis and didn't want to go to nursery school (they were planning a little celebration for him) and he was rather overwhelmed by the end of the day, but is much better today. My poor sis rang to wish him happy birthday and he barely spoke two words to her, as he was too busy playing with Buzz and Woody!

Tink - we got our conservatory blinds from Hilarys. Blinds themselves are great, but we did have a bit of palaver with them. All okay up to delivery then first time they delivered them, guy came to fit them and they were wrong - we ended up waiting for over 2 months (think was more like 3 - was over 2 years ago now, so I don't remember exactly) from order to get correct blinds fitted. Still, we complained and got a discount off the bill and the blinds are doing fine at the mo (just need to figure out how to detach them, so I can clear the bugs out of the roof ones - yuck!).

Diege - you do look like a model, so not surprising really :) My DH was also a model in the Outdoor Catalogue many moons ago and still has a copy for posterity's sake Blush

Right - best get on. Have a luxury day booked off work today with DC at nursery, so I can get the house sorted... think i'll still be working on that long after they've gone to bed tonight (might take a month, the state it's in, but I only have until Sat, as DS' party is on Sat).

Sorry for hassles at work Sorky - hope it improves soon.

Gruff - glad to see your DH is looking after you and hope the nausea doesn't get any worse and gets better soon. It's so easy to forget that all consuming tiredness of the early stages of pregnancy.

Right, this house won't clean itself... Kick me off, if you see me on here again before the end of the day Blush

Diege · 09/09/2010 13:54

Hi STAR, hope you're enjoying your day off Smile. If you're anything like me, those rare days usually end up extremely lazy days, depsite the to do list I'd have in mind. Happy belated birthday to ds too!
Yes,I too have kept my 'catalogues',a bit sad I agree Grin. We were all hoping for the big break (ie. dfs catalogue Grin) and there were great celebrations when I got 'The Iceland',but usually very dull stuff like hsbc, school equipment catalogues etc. I did get a recall for being Robson Green's love interest body double, but was 6 mths pregnant at the time (would have been for that Dervla woman)so obviously couldn't be! Thanks for the complement about looking model-like Blush;in my youth, with lots of make up and soft focus light, maybe, but not now Grin
Question: had anyone tried the new Galaxy caramel (big bar)? Is it actually possible to just break off a single square and eat it? Does anyone have such restraint?

tinkhasboughtoutalltheshops · 09/09/2010 18:05

afternoon Grin

diege - quote ok they r quite expsensive read lots of bad reviews about there customer service and blinds taking along time to arrive
had already had a quote from o local family run company so going with them

Diege · 09/09/2010 18:17

Hi TINKS! After reading your's and STAR's experiences, I think we may well go with as local firm ourselves. Thanks Smile

GiraffeYoga · 10/09/2010 07:55

Morning

Wow Diege- you are famous! I will have to look out for you on the Tv now! :)

I've not had the large bar of caramel but can fully understand need to be hiding a couple of wrappers. I cant stop once I start on a big bar.. Hmm Blush

Re blinds, we used webblinds for a couple of venetian (slotted ones?) We measured ourselves and the blins arrive in a couple of weeks. I found them really good, but they were simple designs.

Although I've just looked at its the online arm of Hilary's. Maybe the issues come when people come out to measure...? Or I was just lucky? - anyway, good luck. :)

Hi everyone here lurking.

Im also wondering about Ses and her ovulation! Blush

We need to do a wagon register I think to round everyone up Grin

essenceofSES · 10/09/2010 21:58

Errr.... "Here Miss!"

Sorry for going AWOL. Things too hectic here. Wedding last weekend (went really well and DS was an absolute star), kitchen causing loads of dust and sorting/clearing, work busy (including someone insisting we went to a meeting in London on Tues when it was a tube strike!) and then SIL and nephew arrived from Ireland yesterday for a visit!

Phew!!!

Ovulation update - basically I don't seem to have ovulated at all this month by my temps :( AF due Mon/Tues so will just start again then.

Diege - ooh! Get you!!! Modelling!!! I should have guessed though as the others are right, you do look v model-like now I think about it!
As for Galaxy caramel, although I love chocolate, I really don't like caramel! Give me just ordinary Galaxy any day!!

Star - hope DS enjoyed his birthday despite tonsillitis. Hope the party goes well.

Sorky - work sounds stressful at the moment. Hope things calm down or you get an offer following that interview you mentioned!

Cant - glad you got the meds sorted and they're doing their job

Giraffe - what did you decide to do re DD?

Gruff - hope you're doing ok and not getting
too tired.

Moos - hope you're enjoying your gorgeous new home!

Hello everyone else! I'll try not to leave it a week again!!
