Normally we just work in the mornings, with a week off here and there, when we all get a bit weary.
This Summer we pretty much took the month of August off though.

It must be very odd for those who do school to have them for 6/7 weeks solid in the Summer.

I'm not sure I could take the shock to my system! Grin

Moosy your wake-up view is very nice Envy
Hope the party goes well :)

tinkhasboughtoutalltheshops · 02/09/2010 16:09

grrr kids!!

dd1 is now constantly over excited!! keeps leaping around and laughing all the time
whoise ida was it to have 6 weeks off in the summer i have had it [grr]
it is hard to keep them both entertained
cant wait to get back into a routine

essenceofSES · 02/09/2010 16:51

tink - it is amazing how much DC need a fixed routine isn't it? Not many more days now!

Sorky - sounds like your DS1 has done really well ditching the stabalisers :)
You're right - inlaws staying and extension in progress plus helping out a bit with my brother's wedding is all added stresses. I somehow think I should be able to cope with them though - nothing too unusual!

Went to pick up the wedding dress with my SIL-to-be this afternoon. Neither she or my brother drive so I drove her to go and find the dress months ago so went with her today. Not stressful (for me!) but an hour drive to pick her up, half hour drive to the shop and then the same again in reverse. Seems to have taken up most of the day!

SIL-to-be is v stressed as her family arrive this evening and her aunt in particular sounds a nightmare! Her aunt is staying in a nearby hotel but wants to go round to SIL and brother's flat tonight. The flat is tiny, more of a bedsit and SIL doesn't want anyone round there tonight as her dress is hanging and she doesn't want it damaged or anyone to see it. Her aunt was on the phone to her literally shouting "I will be there!" - insistent that she would go round to the flat tonight! I think they'll need their 2 weeks in Tunisia after the wedding!

Hope everyone is having a good day :)

Starshinetiger · 03/09/2010 10:53

Just marking my place... last day of work before being off for a week (still doing 2 jobs in 4 days... so much to do before I can relax)... yawn, grr, hoping we win the lottery this weekend Grin

Bump - nice to see you on here, think you are supermum, being full time mum by day and working in eves and weekends. Wanted to comment on your thoughts re. DC's reaction to your working - hope to have time to come back to that this weekend.

GiraffeYoga · 03/09/2010 12:05

Morning all - just

Hi Star, TInk and Bumps.

Very quick one here as things are super busy but wanted to check in.

Cant hope you arent suffering too much.

Diege- hows things with you? Any sign of AF?
Ses- how is the ovulation tracking? Any sign? Not suprised it might be delayed due to the stresses. I think i can screw up my cycles by just thinking about it too much!

GiraffeYoga · 03/09/2010 12:06

bugger. afternoon!

OP posts:
Diege · 03/09/2010 12:33

Lol TINKS!I know the feeling...dd3 starts school on Monday (well, of a fashion; don't get me started on 'staggered starts...')and older dds Tuesday. Hold on in there!

Hi GYO! Af started this morning (temps also dropped -still amazed that the temp things actually workk Grin). That gives me a luteal phases of 11 days, which isn't great but just about ok from what I've read?. I tell you girls, may I be a warning to you...cycles were text book up to 39, then literally as turned 40 they shortened and LP dropped from 13 days to 9...agnus castus seems to be doing a bit to get things 'balanced', but may I be a warning I am just so pleased I got my 'cake(s)' when I did, so even if my iceing baby never arrives I think I've done quite well for myself Wink

Right, better get some work done...tis right what you say GYO about working 4 days a week...a right con Angry

essenceofSES · 03/09/2010 12:47

Hello all! I'm sitting in hairdresser's waiting for my highlights to take :)

Diege - sorry for AF. Thanks for the warning - I'm only a few years behind you!

Tink - only the afternoon to get through now!

Giraffe, Star and Bumps - sounds like you're all v busy with work. Hope you get some time for yourselves and chilling (?!) with the DCs

Still no sign of ovulation here on CD20. Brain in overdrive trying to work out why - stress, still BF twice a day, thyroxine dose still not right, age or something else! Could just be not my month.
Oh well, at least I can enjoy a few drinks tomorrow at the wedding once O is in bed. We've got a hotel babysitter booked.

Diege · 03/09/2010 13:38

Oh very glam SES Grin Tomorrow's wedding sounds great, esp staying over in hotel! My money is still on a delayed ovualtion, though agree odd about opks.Having said that,I got pregnant with dd3 after missing the boat (based on opks) so they're not always that accurate.
Oh and have just put a more recent piccy of ds on profile (at top)Smile

tinkhasboughtoutalltheshops · 03/09/2010 18:22

evening Grin

nearly girls bedtime Grin

diege - sorry for af!!

ses - have a great time

sorky · 04/09/2010 18:56

I'm supposed to be mastering PowerPoint, but have eschewed this in favour of a large glass of Chardonnay and a dance around the house like a loon to my new secret vice.....Katy Perry.

Should anyone fancy preparing my presentation for my job interview on the 15th, please....feel free....

"You're hot when you're cold, you're yes then you're no, you're in then you're out, you're up then you're down, you're wrong, when it's right, we fight, we break up, we kiss, we make up!"

Lalalalalalalalalala Grin

Diege · 05/09/2010 15:30

Grin SORKY, I detest powerpoint but have to use it daily,so feel your pain...Can I be nosey and ask what the job interview's for?

GiraffeYoga · 06/09/2010 07:14

Morning all

Hi Tink- great that DD1 is back in her routine.

OP posts:
Starshinetiger · 06/09/2010 15:51

Yay for no sickness Cant - very good news for you.

GYo - is that a query so you know for future ref? WinkGrin

Tink - glad you have your routine back with DD1.

We start a new routine this week, I'm officially 3 days a week! Am on hols this week though and still have some work to finish off in evenings, due to 2 job scenario up to now, but from next week will be extra good. DS back at nursery on Tues, his bday on Weds and then I have two days at home with them in nursery, while I do painting (DIY) and stuff at home.

DH has just come home from work, but needs to sort the work mobile out, so has taken both DC into town with him to do it - bliss!!! Better get some stuff done round here while he's out Grin

Hi all just a quickie from me as tiredness has well and truly set in!! Also nausea is still terrible but still not being sick thank goodness. First day back at work today since holiday and was a bit of a shock to the system despite only doing 8.30am-11.30am Blush

Had a weekend away, went to see my Dad and step mum, family were over from Sweden and then Dh was in a unicycle race in Warwick and came 1st for the third year in a row! The local paper took his pic :)

dad and step mum are now here to look after GC mon-wed while I am at work. Its only a few hours a day so its not too bad for them!

Anyway better go, cake and decaf coffee is on its way via DH :)
