Starshinetiger · 23/09/2010 22:08

Evening all. Been absent from the Wagon for a few days to due to work. Two days in Germany and straight from airport to a Governors meeting at childrens centre, so shattered. Had to come online to submit a job application though, as have decided that now is not the right time to be in a job where I am travelling at least once a month and got the sense this month that they want me out there more often - just not fair on DH and DC. Not sure whether I should be applying for a new job, or just giving up work, but hey ho.. no harm in applying.

Diege - sorry for ongoing ailments in your household, but glad some things are helping your DDs. Yay for well-timed GOF, keeping fingers crossed for you for this month.

GYO - sounds a horrid week. A tough HPA decision too. Did you make any decisions re. DD and your other thread? Hope Vertbaudet stuff turns up - have often looked, but never bought.

Gruff - well done on managing work and looking after GC and nausea/tiredness - is tough, but hopefully each week brings you nearer to the nausea stage passing.

Ses - sounds like you are very hectic. Fingers crossed that you and DH can manage to synchronise calendars and ovulation next month (and you never know, a sneaky GOF might just come your way at the right time this month!)

Tink - yay for Next shopping - do tell what you got (nosey emoticon too)! I got DD's Next order last month, but left it in bag until this week and putting it all in drawers/hanging it up on Tues was like getting it all over again Grin

Moos - glad you are enjoying your new house, piccies look amazing.

Can't - hope you are coping okay with nausea/sickness and looking after DC.

Okay - brain now officially mush - to MMM, Smithy, Rugby, Sorky, Bumps, SparklyLaTour and anyone else lurking - apologies if I forgot anyone.

GiraffeYoga · 24/09/2010 08:14

Morning

Hi Star- Is that the 3 day a week job that needs you to be travelling? Is the new one with the same company?

Hi Ses- Your schedule sounds so busy! I hope you can squeeze in sneaky GOF as Star said.
In some ways its good to understand that Crypto is serious really as everything I've read online suggests its quite mild its helps justify the fuss they are making. I am now dreading SG getting it for real and us needing more time off.

For a friday, Im feeling a bit fed up TBH. Work and all the stuff at home has overwhelmed me this week. Im not even cheered at thought of weekend. Will mean more house stuff. Does it ever end?

tinkhasboughtoutalltheshops · 24/09/2010 09:19

thats ok giraffe

no ordering in nov

have read some bad reviews about customer service
wondered if the quality of produts was any good

GiraffeYoga · 24/09/2010 09:40

do a search on here. Someone is bound to have ordered from there before :)

OP posts:
Rugbylovingmum · 24/09/2010 10:01

Hi all,

Tink - never ordered from GLTC but never heard anything bad about the products.

Star - what is the new job you are applying for. Is it 3 days a week?

GYo - hope SG stays healthy now and you have a nice relaxing weekend after your hectic week. Do you have any plans?

Ses - tell him a quicky will help him de-stress after a busy day Wink. Have you tried just not mentioning the ttcing thing - I think feeling I have to do it would put me off too Blush. Of course he'll know really but if he is anything like DP he will happily fool himself that he is just irresistible for a couple of days (tell me to butt out if I'm being an irritating busybody!). Poor O with his teeth and poor you having to get up Sad.

Diege - hope things calm down at work soon. I am totally in awe of you managing 4 LOs and a demanding job. 1 DD and an annoying boss is enough to keep me busy Grin. Hope poor DD2 is feeling better soon.

My dad is coming down to visit this weekend - he was going to help us sort the garden out (plant trees, cut everything back, tidy hedges etc) but we're not going to get much done in this crappy cold wet weather . He is arriving early afternoon and picking DD up from nursery and looking after her until I get home - it's really nice that he is so excited about seeing her he won't wait until I finish work Smile. Of course she might object to leaving nursery early - she has made friends with a little boy there and they crawl around after each other all day. Yesterday he cried when I came to take her home and they told me that she had been really upset when he went for a nap in the morning. When he got up she went and gave him a kiss then they crawled off into the pop up tunnel and sat in there farting and giggling - how lovely Hmm. Not even a year old and a little flirt already Grin.

Rugbylovingmum · 24/09/2010 22:31

Oh dear, have I scared everyone away?

tinkhasboughtoutalltheshops · 25/09/2010 13:54

nope i'm here

going to go for kritter bed and other bits from ikeainstead getting next month Grin

cantmummyhaveabreak · 25/09/2010 17:00

afternoon.....

Well i've been well enough recently, only being sick about one day a week, and even then it's only a couple of times, then i'll be fine afterwards. I'm just sooooooooooooooo tired all the time now. We're at 9+3 today... so give it a couple of weeks and i should be feeling a bit perkier again.

Went major haul shopping today- got tons in the next sale for all 3 DC's and some bits for MMM's DS for xmas too... Then got DS & DD1 a fisher price camera each for xmas, got MMM's DS his xmas present and got 3 big main presents for DD2 for xmas!! Then we went for a nando's lunch, and now we're stuffed to the brim and i'm trying to find a lovely maternity dress that i can wear for a christening in 3 weeks time and also wear in december for DH's works xmas party.... would prefer somewhere i could go instore and try on for fit and sizing with having so little time for returns etc... and just having no luck at all!! :(

Right- have caught up- but can't remember much- blame it on the baby brain- it's gone to mush the last few weeks!!

Oh Diege- We're considering taking the DC's to underwater st again in a few weeks when DH has a weekend day off. Will let you know when we have a date and if you fancy meeting us we'd be very happy to see you again!! :)

tinkhasboughtoutalltheshops · 25/09/2010 21:00

Evening

Hi can't good 2 hear from u
Glad sickness better
Well done on the shopping
Had a gd day here

Definetly going 4 ikea kritter bed 4 dd2 plus bedding etc
Going in oct

essenceofSES · 26/09/2010 20:59

Hello!!!! (hello, hello, hello )

Hope you've all had good weekends. I'm just watching XFactor with DH and then I want to watch the new period drama on ITV after than so I'm going to go upstairs and snuggle in bed and watch that as it's not really DH's cup of tea!

Our kitchen is finally becoming dust free :) Have been doing some cleaning and sorting today as a result. What's really lovely is the floor space in the new kitchen means tha DS can play with his trike and sit on fire engine whilst I get on with what I need to do housework wise. I feel so much better about being so much more productive!

Talking of productive, I don't think this month will be (again! Grr!) as DH briefly dislocated his knee cap yesterday afternoon and is in quite a bit of pain. He's had knee surgery before and is worried he may be headed that way again. He's going to GP on Wednesday :(
Will make GOFing quite uncomfortable for him.
On the upside though, it's meant we've been able to have some further frank discussions about ttc and DH's hesitations. It is purely financial related which I find hard as we do have a decent income between the two of us. I know he is v traditional though and wants to be able to provide for the family without my income.
Anyway, I've put a proposal to him that I increase my hours at work to 4.5 days from 4 days. I'd still have all day Wednesday off but would work all day Tuesday instead of just the morning and I'd still do Saturday mornings.
I'd rather not but it would make us £100 a week better off (taking into account the extrea nursery fees) and I've told DH that I'll do it if it means ttc now without hesitation. He's said to talk to my boss tomorrow!
Just hope DH's knee doesn't get in the way and that my boss says yes!

Anyway, enough of my pointless drivel!

tink - have you a link to the bed?

Cant - glad the sickness is easing! Great shopping - As far as Christmas goes, I've still only bought one stocking filler for DS. Have you found a dress yet? I have a few maternity dresses that I wouldn't mind loaning if you want. I understand if you'd rather something nice and new though!

Rugby - hope you had a great weekend with your dad. How lovely that he wanted to pick DD up from nursery! DD's flirting made me giggle Grin

Giraffe - hope SG has stayed well?

GiraffeYoga · 27/09/2010 08:52

Morning
very quick hi from me.

Tink - bed sounds great. Do you think she will stay in it or climb/ fall out?

Ses- kitchen looks (from FB pics) and sounds fab. Im pelased its finally done.

Sorry for DH's knee. There are ways and means if you are determined to GOF Wink - Im sure Diege could come and describe those very nicely! Grin

Sounds like a plan to increase to 4.5days if it helps financially. Do you get good maternity benefits so the benefit will be same whilst on leave?

Cant- glad sickeness is ok.

So many pregnancies around me. So broody but still not ready- if that makes sense.

Better go as I really must do some work!

OP posts:
Diege · 27/09/2010 09:53

Oh yes SES there are ways and means Grin. Definitely do-able if you do all the 'active' stuff if that makes sense? Blush Grin. Kitchen sounds good as do your work plans. I think I would move to the 4.5 days if it meant £100 extra a week! Shock
Rugby great to hear from you. How was your weekend with your dad?
Gyo hello! I think 'broody but not quite ready' is quite a nice place to be in. You have all the anticipation without any of the anxiety Smile
Tinks bed sounds good. I had a good day out shopping on Sat with a friend in Liverpool - got lots of bits from H&M and Gap for ds and have also ordered jeans and tops for the dds from Boden. I only got paid on Friday and am broke already Blush
Cant!! Great to hear from you and, yes, would love to do Underwater st again. I am away the weekend of the 15/16th Oct, but other than that free I think.
Af week for me - stupidly tested yesterday 7dpo and got what I thought was a glimmer of a line, but then 2 def negs after that one. Not feeling very hopeful as timing ok but not 'spot on' this month. I have also decided just to temp up to ovulation, and am sleeping better for it!
Right, better get on with work. First day back for the students so I am locked in my office with a big queue outside. They will realise I am in in a moment!
Back later x

GiraffeYoga · 27/09/2010 12:22

Bed looks good.

I'd prob go for white as it will go with anyhting and is more feminine that the pine. But depends on room and other decor.

I do like the coloured animals on pine one though :)

Chest looks good to. cant go wrong for £9.99 though!

I love Ikea stuff.

Diege · 27/09/2010 14:15

Ooh I love the furniture TINKS - I agree absolutely about the white being a bit more girly, but have earmarked the pine one for ds Grin You are a bad influence Wink

GruffaloSoldier · 27/09/2010 14:46

Yes I love ikea :) DS has this one www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/40108659

I did look at that one Tink but decided on Leksvik as it goes with our lounge furniture (where the toy box is).

Going to get either this bed to match www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S69847510

or this bed if just goes straight into a big bed

www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/50080315
