Congrats to everyone who has had their babies im so Envy.Well had another check up baby still doesnt want out so i had a membrane sweep which was really sore.Just hope it kickstarts labour ,but knowing my luck it wont.

PrivetDancer · 29/10/2010 20:17

Congrats gaga and harmony!!

Ooh it's nearly November too, so the babies can really start rolling in then :)

I'm officially 37 weeks tomorrow so will be in the homebirth window. Time to start all the walking / pineapple / sex I suppose. Sigh.

BloodyBorisKarloffTheBold · 29/10/2010 20:34

Congratulations harmony - glad you're on the mend and enjoying little Aiden!

sancerrre · 29/10/2010 20:49

Crikey, it's a full time job following this thread - must go on maternity leave so I can keep up!

Congratulations to gaga, tanmu and harmony!

I've had an interesting first hospital visit. Midwife asked whether I'd had a pelvic examination to determine whether I can deliver by the traditional route Hmm no reason to suspect I can't, sounds as if it's routine here. She didn't persue it after my numerous Hmm faces though so hopefully it won't come up again. Then Dr. wanted to redo my HIV test in case my status had changed since the routine test at the start of the pregnancy. More Hmm faces for him and politely declined on the grounds I'd not exchanged bodily fluids with anyone other than DH for the last 8 years. So delivering at the hospital should be interesting!

Good luck to everyone having hopeful twinges and signs of impending babies!

Rinnyx · 29/10/2010 21:31

Quick post from my phone, Congrats to all the new mums and welcome to the world babies :)
Still no sign of baby showing up here even tried a hour walk yesterday and today but nothing :( have a feeling this one may have to be evicted

umf · 29/10/2010 21:38

Congratulations Gaga and harmony! All these safe arrivals are such happy news!

Ebb that sounds positive.

sancerrre bizarre!

mumcha hope that sweep works.

My poor SiL (DH's sister, not dreadful brother's lovely wife) is 42+2 today. She's absolutely enormous and terrifyingly cross. She's in Sweden where they are much less keen on induction - in fact yesterday was the first time they had her into the hospital for any checks! All looks fine, which means they won't induce yet. Will keep checking until 43+3, I think. She doesn't want to be induced cos of the increased risk of further interventions, but is v fed up. Also the Swedes I know tend to have greater faith in their health professionals and just go along with protocol more than bolshie mumsnetters, so I'm not sure that she knows about eg prostaglandins rather than full-blown syntocynin induction. Probably better off waiting anyway, tho.

bunnygirl80 · 29/10/2010 23:16

COngratulations gaga and harmony

umf sorry to hear your brother's caused so much anxiety. Hope your family can get him sorted out soon

It's lovely to see so many safe arrivals, but am also freaking out somewhat that soon I'm going to have an actual real life baby to look after Smile

AddictedIsFeelingHappy · 30/10/2010 05:04

hey not had time to read through all the posts since my last post, but i saw someone say congratulations. So congratulations to all the new mummies.

My baby girl, Millie (Amelia) Rose Jane was born 29/10/10 weighing 8lb 3oz. Shes amazing!

BloodyBorisKarloffTheBold · 30/10/2010 06:27

Woohoo congratulations Addicted, what a good weight and a lovely name.

bunnygirl80 · 30/10/2010 07:25

Congratulations addicted

Wallace · 30/10/2010 07:59

Congratulations everyone Grin, these babies are popping out everywhere and it isn't even November yet!

cluelessnchaos · 30/10/2010 08:25

Congratulations addicted lovely big baby and a beautiful name.

I am off to the bun fight that is the magic roundabout sale, second hand nursery and childrens stuff. Wish me luck.

grinningbee · 30/10/2010 08:55

Congratulations to all the new mummies! Grin

Addicted seems like ignoring the niggles worked then Wink

DD was an absolute demon last night. I tried for an hour to get her to sleep (8 - 9pm), and then she screamed from 9 until midnight. We tried everything known to man! Woke again at 4, and then again at 6.30.

Needless to say, I am a very knackered person today. Never mind, 38 weeks today so won't be long before there's two of them at it!

balijay · 30/10/2010 09:03

More new babies - I love this!! Congrats to Harmony and addicted Grin

For all those on their due dates/fed up being pregnant - hope something happens soon!

As for my little bump, she needs to stay put for another week as we are in Birmingham next weekend watching DD sing in the BBC Choir of the Year (will be 38 weeks by then - eeek!!) Have told her she can come after that Grin

Have a lovely weekend everyone

Gemjar · 30/10/2010 09:18

Mega congrats to everyone with their babies already, although I am jealous!

I seem to have done tons of walking this week, scouring town for halloween costumes, but other than feeling tired, it doesn't seem to have encouraged any action from baby.

Midwife on Thursday even said she fully expects to see me again for the appointment next week when I will be 39+4 - oh well, with a bit of luck that will be the last check up before he makes an appearance!

And everyone said I wouldn't make it as far as November, gah

Mibby · 30/10/2010 11:01

Congratulations Addicted :)

hmmSleep · 30/10/2010 11:07

Babybean1 · 30/10/2010 11:31

Congratulations addicted :)

How many more are going to pop before we need to start a new thread???? (I would offer to start a new one but think its a bit too tricky from my phone!-sorry) :)

dairymum · 30/10/2010 12:01

congratulations to all the new mummies. sod all happening here. due in13 days but fully expect to be induced at 42 weeks, as with both dds. not allowed to arrive on 25th though as that is dd2s birthday. got all her presents already but think i will wrap them this week while she is at school.

To all those with diy problems - it could be worse. When dd2 was born we were living in a caravan having just started building our house, and it was snowing too. DD2 was 2.5 by the time we moved into our house.

Better go feed DDs now, then get some nesting done. Grin

BloodyBorisKarloffTheBold · 30/10/2010 12:37

Feeling bloody awful today. Agonisingly painful headache, not touched by painkillers and a "stomach-ache" to put it politely.

Just called birth unit, as MW phone switched off, and I've to go in for checking to make sure BP isn't too high.

Gahhh, BP wasn't checked at last two MW appointments as no large cuff and I've spent the last 20 mins trying to phone dp (who took DD1 & 2 out to give me some peace) to get him to come back. I don't want to drive as I can hardly move my head without wanting to cry.

Got him though and he'll be back in 10 mins to pick me up - feel a bit sorry for my girls though as they were at a playcentre.

Fingers crossed this is due to insomnia rather than anything else.

PrivetDancer · 30/10/2010 13:31

Congratulations addicted!!
I'd have been considering Millie as a name but it's already taken in my family. It is a lovely name.

boris hope you feel better and are home again soon and it's nothing serious

Vix7 · 30/10/2010 15:37

Congrats addicted and harmony!!

can't say i'm not Envy of all those who have popped already. am now officially overdue. bah.

have tried curries (but tolerance of spice is high so not working), lots and lots of fresh pineapple that i've pulped up and drink, had a nice long walk to borough market and back and still no signs of the bub wanting to check out.

sigh....

bloodyboris, hope you'll feel better soon.

anyone have ideas on a new thread title?

Vix7 · 30/10/2010 16:20

can i just add that the bub taking her own sweet time coming is getting me into a pissy mood cos EVERYFREAKINGONE keeps asking me if i've popped yet or they ask DH if there's any news.

i'm like....'if there's any news WE WILL LET YOU KNOW' so back off already!!!
Angry

Ebb · 30/10/2010 16:30

Congratulations Harmony and Addicted Grin

Abbie Elizabeth arrived on 29/10/10 weighing in at 8lbs4 after a rather short but intense labour. Had the sweep at 11.30am, started having pains after lunch. They picked up a bit about 3.30pm but Consultant had warned I'd probably have painful braxton hicks. Got in the bath. Got out at 4.30pm, thought Hmm, texted DP who was shopping with DS and MIL. He phoned at 5pm. I said get home now! Not an easy request in Bristol rush hour. He got back at 6pm. Hospital at 6.30pm. Contractions every 1-2mins. I was like a petulant child demanding an epidural. They started to fill the birth pool. I was still demanding an epidural. Blush MW examined me at 8pm and said I was fully dilated. She then went to check another patient. My waters went with a big pop. Told DP I needed a poo Blush, one poo Blush Blush and 4 pushes and Abbie was out. The MW came just in time to catch! I had a small 2nd degree tear but nowhere near as bad as with DS.

I was very lucky actually as the maternity ward shut after me and they also shut the other Bristol maternity unit and women were being sent to Bath, Gloucester and Swindon. Shock I stayed in over night and got home at 1.30pm.

Abbie is a bit of a chunker and feeding well. Hope everyone else is doing well.

Rinnyx · 30/10/2010 16:33

Congrats to the new mums.
I am still waiting and now I am thinking of talking to the midwife Monday about being induced to having a c-section.

Forgive the typos as upset as I type this, found out my step nan has taken a turn for the worst and now it is a waiting game and phone call to see if she will be coming home or not.
She is still saying she wants to get well and meet DS when he is born but the dr's are not holding high hopes, its just heart breaking cause she loves DD so much, has been a rock when I lost 2 last year and is so excited to meet DS
