Celestine poor you! Hope your rib feels better soon.

Grinningbee I guess at least the bump lanes will help speed things up en route..... Grin I'm hoping I go into labour at night as I don't fancy sitting in Bristol rush hour traffic in full labour!

My GP rang me last night to say my platelets have dropped again and are at their lowest at 68. I had to go and have another blood test done this morning. I only had the last one done on Tues so I'll have matching bruises on both arms! Then I have to go and see the Consultant tomorrow to try and find out what's happening. I can just see my lovely, relaxed birth suite birth flying out the window. Sad

I've been having lots of BH's and period type pains for the last couple of weeks and every time I have pain, I get excited and then it all goes away. Oh well, I'm sure baby will come in her own sweet time!

It won't be long before this thread is bursting with new babies. Grin

AddictedIsFeelingHappy · 28/10/2010 11:23

hello all,

Celestine hope your ribs feel better soon

i am in such a foul mood today, dh and i just went to buy a tens machiene from lloyds, but they had sold out dh had to literally drag me from the shop as i was shreaking at the poor sales assistant because they didnt have any Blush i've been having niggles since sunday, i feel like a beached whale, i'm struggling to sleep at night, i feel constantly sick and i've just had enough. I'm not actually due till next week, but she seems set on staying.

rollerbaby · 28/10/2010 12:00

Oh god Celestine that sounds horrendous. What did the doc say about birth now? Hope you feel a bit better soon.

Mibby · 28/10/2010 13:13

Addicted, its not just you, thats a perfect description of how i feel too. Cant sleep, hurts to walk, constant nausea/ heartburn, massive swollen feet etc etc.
I have no patience with anything and want to strangle people who keep ringing to see if shes here yet or to ask me to think about xmas plans or other rubbish I have NO INTEREST in.

and breathe.....

lulastic · 28/10/2010 13:16

Shivers, lots to catch up on today. Cracked ribs, omg?! That is intense.

Second to last day at work, woohoo! Bring on ML!

comtessa · 28/10/2010 13:54

Celestine - sounds dreadful, I really hope you feel better soon.

Mibby IKWYM, I keep on thinking of all the things I would be doing right now with this time off if I wasn't the size of a whale! In the meantime, I'll just keep trying the get the house into some kind of order. Or maybe make a pie. Mmm, pie...

Will start new thread for meetup - arrivals permitting!

Nottingham meet-up thread here

Fenouille · 28/10/2010 14:58

Mibby & Addicted sorry to hear you're feeling crap today. Hopefully tomorrow will be better?

Ebb that doesn't sound good. Fingers crossed you'll still get the birth suite though.

Well, I'm back after finally finding out what being pregnant is useful for (sweet talking your way past police blockades, if anyone's interested).

Had half-an-hour of monitoring heart beat and contractions and then a scan to check the amount of amniotic fluid. Everything hunky-dory but baby's in no rush (luckily for DH who's under orders to leave work early and fit the damn shower tonight Grin).

I have to go back on Saturday (another strike day, yay!) for the same thing, with possible induction on Monday (bank holiday and probably another strike day, double yay)

Have a nice afternoon all of you - my new phone arrived this morning so I'm going to spend the rest of the afternoon playing with it :)

Booboodebat · 28/10/2010 15:14

Hi everyone.

Just read through to see how everyone's doing.

Feeling sorry for those of you going through DIY hell. DH did this in my first pregnancy. There was a blanket ban from me this time around!

And blimey celestine. Broken ribs are so painful! Fingers crossed they mend quickly.

Also Ebb sorry to hear about your low platelet count. Mine is always low, and have had loads of tests this pregnancy, but it seems to have risen to just about normal, so I think I'm off the hook!

Congratulations to those with new arrivals. Am very [henvy], obviously.

I'm 39+3 today. Lots of crampy pain keeping me awake at night, but no other signs. I was induced at 42 weeks last time, so I'm hoping it'll start on it's own this time around. Fingers crossed.

tanmu82 · 28/10/2010 16:26

baby girl born 27th oct @ 22:22, weighing 6lb 6.5oz. lovely waterbirth, and home within 3 hours :) Tanmu and baby doing well x

cluelessnchaos · 28/10/2010 16:28

My dh thinks he is redecorating the hall with his paternity leave, as of today he is home for 8 weeks, there is no way I am putting up with him playing the martyr when he is meant to be helping me.

Booboodebat · 28/10/2010 16:28

Congratulations tammu! [hgrin]

comtessa · 28/10/2010 16:40

Congratulation tanmu82! And please may I have a birth like yours? Grin

Ebb · 28/10/2010 16:41

Congratulations Tammu ! Sounds perfect. Grin

4madboys · 28/10/2010 16:51

wow, lots to catch up on!

congrats to threelittleducks and tunmu Grin

been a crazy week here as ds3 got really poorly and ended up being admitted to hospital as they think he has got kawasaki disease! poor little man had lots of poking and proding, monitering and taking of blood etc but he is home now and basically just has to rest, tho we have to take him back for further blood tests and a heart scan in a two weeks just to make sure he is ok! not an enjoyable few days.

i am 36wks now and having previously been thinking madame could turn up early i now want her to stay put so i can recover from the stress of the last week and also so ds3 can get well, he is likely to be off school for a bit so he can recouperate (sp)

i am fine, baby head down and very low, blood pressure etc all fine and midwife comes round next week to deliver the home birth kit as i will be 37wks, oh and my HV is also coming round? they like to visit before baby arrives now.

hope all bathrooms/diy get sorted asap and that niggles turn into labour for those due.

its getting exciting now!

good luck ladies xx

comtessa · 28/10/2010 16:57

Aargh, tummy ache again. Off to repack hospital bag to distract myself and make more tea. And maybe attempt some DIY.

Rinnyx · 28/10/2010 17:17

Just a quick pop in to say hi and hope everyone is doing ok.

Been abit of a stressful few days as found out my step nan is in hospital due to a infection and fever but have been told best not to see her incase I catch something :(

AddictedIsFeelingHappy · 28/10/2010 17:19

congratulations tanmu, sounds like an ideal birth. [hgrin]

balijay · 28/10/2010 17:50

Congrats tanmu (just saw your announcement over on MSE!)More birth stories like that please!

Sad about your little boy 4madboys - hope he feels better soon - same goes for your step nan rinny - wishing them both a speedy recovery x

smokeybacon · 28/10/2010 18:33

oooh another baby! Congrats tanmu. Has she a name yet?

Nov 8th looks like d-day for me subject to room in the delivery suite or anything happening before then.

celestine [hshock] that your baby broke your rib. That must have been some kick. Hope it gets better soon.

4madboys hope your DS3 recovers quickly. Poor fella.

comtessa wonder if all these niggles mean something??? Although I got period like pain for about 3 weeks before DS2 decided to arrive and absolutely no indication on the day itself before my waters broke. But you never know. Am getting mild cramps myself as well as period like pain too.

Just noticed the meet up thread. Will check in shortly.

fenouille hope the strikes don't get in your way or your baby's way too much. Good luck at the hosptial on Sat and Mon.

Mibby · 28/10/2010 20:11

Addicted Ive got a spare TENS machine if its any use to you? Would need new batteries and stick on pads but otherwise ok

cluelessnchaos · 28/10/2010 20:42

Ooh congrats tanmu, I missed that post

Fenouille · 28/10/2010 21:12

Congrats tanmu! Sounds like a perfect birth.

Hope DS3 and step-nan get better soon madboys & rinny

Thanks for the good wishes for lack of strike action Smokey. TBH Sept/Oct is always strike season, the only variable is how bad it is. This year is ok so far - we filled up the car just before the petrol stations started running out and although the bins haven't been collected for at least a fortnight, no-one has tipped the rubbish into the streets or started burning it yet Hmm Thankful for small mercies?

And the breaking news: we have a shower! A 2 hour effort by DH with his lovely assistant (me Grin) although there's no curtain yet we have officially made progress. Both knackered though. DH is currently having a well deserved beer and then I'm going to take him to bed Wink

PrivetDancer · 28/10/2010 21:39

Congratulations tanmu :o

bunnygirl80 · 28/10/2010 22:13

Congratulations tanmu

And congrats to fenouille on your shower Grin
