yea fenouille, you have a shower!

Thanks for the offer mibby, dh is going out tomorrow to see if he can get one ( but i think it may be too late. i'm currently trying to ignore what is going on with my body in the hope that it continues and doesnt all stop!)

blondecat · 29/10/2010 01:01

Congratulations tanmu

Off for a positioning scan in 12 hours. Can't sleep. She seemed to have moved a bit but I feel she is still breech. Not sure what to expect - hope the doc doesn't scare me with anything

Night night

Fenouille congratulations on shower. DH says strikes are fizzling out -I hope for your sake that's the case. And your LO might come on all saints' day!

We had guys try and deliver a table. It wouldn't fit through the door. Apparently they see it a lot - this particular design is too wide for standard doorways and the legs are glued on. Of course, the showroom didn't tell us. They will try again with ropes and ladders (to 1st floor!!) Saturday - just in time as we have a dinner party that night. Oh well, fingers crossed

grinningbee · 29/10/2010 08:07

Congratulations Tanmu sounds like a lovely birth!

Ooooh Addicted hope those ignored feelings keep going for you.

Blondecat I think I'd go out when it arrives so you don't get stressed watching it waving around in the air wondering if it will fit/fall!

I bought a tens from ebay as I'm not sure whether I'll like it, so it wsn't too much and I can sell it on again after. Although dh is still planning number 3... he has told me I have until I'm 42 to get pg again!

Currently waiting for the electrician and the flooring guys to turn up. I can't wait till it's all over and I get the house back!

CardiCorgi · 29/10/2010 08:19

Congratulations tanmu lets, hope we all have such great births.

Nothing happening here. Baby still not engaged. I'm still working and colleagues have started asking if I plan to have the baby in the office and which so what nationality it will have.

comtessa · 29/10/2010 09:57

smokeybacon congratulations on getting a date - subject to anything happening beforehand, of course. I know what you mean about the niggles, I'm certain it's all part of building towards labour (from what I've read!) but of course niggles and aches could continue for weeks, as you say. I'm starting to get a bit nervous about being away this weekend, as well as looking forward to it. Think I'll call MW to ask what I should do if things start happening to me while away, DH and I don't have a car so wouldn't necessarily want to rely on Sunday train timetabling to get back to Nottingham with any degree of urgency!

grinningbee hope the workmen turn up soon!

(Whispers to addicted so baby doesn't hear: Hope things are starting to move along, keep us posted!)

Off to get packed for weekend. Suspect will be packing most of the contents of my hospital bag. Just in case.

Fenouille · 29/10/2010 10:45

How exciting Addicted. Keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well for you :)

Blondecat good luck with your table. Your DH is right but Toulouse is full of gros cons Socialists so they always tend to milk any industrial disturbances down here. That said, the bins have been collected today so maybe things are getting better

I was saying this morning actually that it would be good if baby arrived on the 1st as if we stay in France it'd always be a bank holiday birthday (I have one as well and it's great!)

comtessa · 29/10/2010 11:34

So this feeling of pressure between my legs, very tender and a bit ouchy, that would be the head engaged, right?

umf · 29/10/2010 11:52

Congratulations tanmu!! Hope all going well at home.

madboys poor wee DS3! And what timing! Hope he's recovering wel..

And good luck addicted! Keep us posted!

Speaking of bad timing, my )^&(%&$ brother disappeared the week before last and has caused his wife, my parents, and me no end of worry and grief. He's reappeared now but has destroyed his marriage and has, we discover, spent a fortune of borrowed money on drugs in the last months. DS1 and I have been staying with my parents for halfterm for a rest, and it has been sort of restful, but also decidedly stressful what with supporting lovely SiL, worrying about bro, and having to hide all the knives in case he turns up violent. I've usually been sympathetic towards him - my parents were pretty flakey - but this has taken the piss. V glad no-one is going to be taking my blood pressure for a week or two, or homebirth would definitely be ruled out. Angry Sad

Loooopy · 29/10/2010 11:58

congrats to the new arrivals....started to think i was having something happening this morning, but think it was just caused by sitting funny at a laptop for 133 minutes trying to buy take that tickets lol....mission accomplished and pains gone now that i've got up, so off for a shower now and then must do lots of tidying as DP parents descending on us later for a couple of days! so happy to have tickets :)

sarahbuff · 29/10/2010 12:10

Sorry to hear of your trouble with your brother umf :( Hope he sorts himself out with some help of some sort...

Congrats to Tanmu! Sounds like you had a lovely birth (inasmuch as labour/birth is lovely... Grin )

To comtessa I've been feeling that too, baby's head was 3/5 engaged at my midwife appointment on Tues and since then it feels like he/she is trampolining on my cervix! Argh! :)

Gaga82 · 29/10/2010 12:47

Hi,

After a long two weeks in hospital with pre-eclampsia (missing out on about 17 pages on here that will never be read!) our little baby girl arrived 17:19pm last Friday, 22/10/10.

Weighed 6lb, called Lucy Elizabeth.

Was a failed induction at 37 weeks (baby was only 1/5 engaged) followed by emergency section, followed by 48 hours on high dependency for me then home 2 days later, but already being forgotten and totally worth it for the end result of our little girl! Staff at hospital were wonderful. Totally went against everything we hoped for, but could be happier.

Still sore and recovering but loving being home and still very tolerant of being kept awake half the night! Managed to breast feed straight away and our DD is now bulking up nicely.

Anyway, daren't risk much longer on here - need to go and coo at baby again while she is sleeping!

Hope the weekend revives everyone nicely and Envy to those with take that tickets!!

Gaga82 · 29/10/2010 12:49

Aargh - just reread - meant 'COULDN'T be happier!'

Baby brain is ridiculous after lack of sleep...

hmmSleep · 29/10/2010 13:22

Looopy you got tickets!! Still trying here with no joy.

Congratulations Tamnu and Gaga, hope all is going well Grin Grin

Fingers crossed for addicted.

Fenouille · 29/10/2010 13:38

Congratulations Gaga, glad to hear everything's going well despite the less than perfect start.

:( umf Not nice at the best of times, I hope you (and the whole family) can still concentrate on getting ready to welcome the new arrival.

Mibby · 29/10/2010 13:44

Congratulations gaga :)

comtessa that sounds similar to me. Midwife said baby was 3/5 engaged yesterday

Loooopy · 29/10/2010 13:48

hmmm sleep try

JFly · 29/10/2010 14:10

Congrats to Gaga!

Comtessa, yes, that pressure is probably baby well and truly down there. I remember trying to walk up to the high street and having to stop every step. It felt like DS was about to drop out. He moved a bit up and down once engaged, but was mostly down for the last week or so.

Umf that sounds very stressful for you and family. Hopefully you can put your mind and rest and concentrate on nice baby thoughts.

cluelessnchaos · 29/10/2010 15:30

congratulations gaga, well said. The main thing is a wonderful baby, and its a beggining rather than an end. I have spent a lovely day with some of my best girlie friends, probably for the last time as a mum of 3, I had my flu jab this morning and I have missed my afternoon nap so feeling a bit snoozy.

Ebb · 29/10/2010 15:35

Congratulations Gaga and glad you are home and doing well.

I saw the Consultant today who was lovely. My platelets are back up to 117. It's so strange that they can be low one minute and ok ish the next. She said as long as they stay above 100 I can have the birth suite. If they drop below 100 then I'll have to be on the main unit. She wants to see me again in 2 weeks but doubts I'll go that long. She did say I could be induced if I wanted but not terribly keen on that. I did say I'd love baby to come today so she offered me a sweep and stretch as I don't see the MW til 41wks. She was very complimentary on the state of my cervix and said I was ripe and ready to go. Since getting home I've been having really painful braxton hicks which she did warn me about. I'm really hoping then turn into labour! Have taken a couple of paracetomol and am going to try a bath to ease the pain a bit. Picked up a tens machine today so better read the instructions!

Madboys I hope your little boy gets better soon.

Comtessa I feel like that too.

FourEyesGood · 29/10/2010 15:41

Congratulations Tanmu and Gaga! Two very different births, from the sounds of things!

I had yet another scan this morning (that makes five so far...) and have been provisionally booked in for a C-section because the placenta's still really close to the OS and the baby's head's not engaged at all yet. But if the next scan in a fortnight (at 39+5) shows anything's improved, I may be allowed to go into labour normally. This indecision and uncertainty is driving me crazy!

balijay · 29/10/2010 17:26

Congrats gaga Grin

BloodyBorisKarloffTheBold · 29/10/2010 17:47

Congratulations Tamnu and Gaga.

Umf - that sounds bloody awful, take it you'll be looking forward to coming home?

Blondecat - how did your scan (and the table delivery) go?

Ebb - sounds promising, I hope you've got some spare batteries for your TENS, you might need them soon Grin.

FourEyes - fingers crossed baby is able to engage in the next couple of weeks. I know what you mean about the uncertainity, it's awful not being able to plan how you'd like to progress initially.

harmonyb23 · 29/10/2010 17:51

Congratulations to all who have new arrivals.

I had baby Aiden on 26th October 2010 at 2:03am weighing just 5lbs 12 1/2oz. Not ideal labour as only 36+6 and had to have a caesarian in the end. But very glad to have a happy, healthy baby boy. Have been released from hospital as of today and am finding being at home much more comfortable. Caesarian wasn't anywhere near as bad as I feared and I am healing nicely.

Good luck to all those with babies still on the way!!! x x x

Babybean1 · 29/10/2010 17:59

Yay congrats again harmony (hes gorgeous!!) and also to tamnu and gaga

Off out with DH tonight for a meal and will hopefully relax instead of sitting around feeling like were waiting for something to happen! :)

Had my hair done today which was nice as spots seem to have reared their ugly head again and I don't particulary feel very attractive at the mo....so that helped a bit!

Sorry not commenting on other posts but need to het ready.....& with no shower here as it decided to give up the ghost last Sunday, it takes a bit longer than usual!!

Hope everyone has a good weekend and babies due don't leave us all waiting!! :)

hmmSleep · 29/10/2010 18:20

Congratulations on arrival of baby Aiden Harmony glad you're both well and back home.
