Alice - Same here! I was getting kicked black and blue during the night last night. LO prob looking for some attention, I'm still sleeping like a log the whole night through so he/she prob just wanted to make their presence felt. Bit quieter again today tho!

Celly - I love having these forums to dip in and out of too. I have a few friends with kids/babies but this August thread is fab because everyone is all due within a few weeks of each other so it gives you loads of encouragement to keep going when all you want to do is lie on sofa and feel fat lol

Elusive - Sleep is v important, hope you got a good rest! I made DH listen to my brain sync CD last night when we were in bed - it's all music made with delta waves or something but it really helps you get into the deepest sleep, can't recommend it highly enough. Last few weeks of not having to do 3am feeds so determined to make the most of them!!

gya - Youth in Revolt was a pretty bizarre movie - very offbeat to say the least but had me in stitches in parts too and the soundtrack was nice. Movies and a half glass of low alcohol wine, followed by hot milk and bed are now my new fav evening passtime. Sedentary, moi?

Hope everyone is well - planning to clean bathroom, wash some clothes and bake a few trays of raspberry, blueberry and manuka honey muffins for the freezer today. So better crack on!! Thought I'd be bored on maternity leave but seem to be keeping myself busier than before, strangely...

Joey30 · 03/08/2010 11:58

Oh wow more babies! Yay! Congrats GYA Blueberries and KCoffin. I love the name Mathilda GYA... that would have been my choice if we were having a wee girl!

Little Miss those muffins sound yummy and v healthy...I'd class them as one of your 5 a day if I were you! I'm nearly out of room in my freezer so cant cook any more for when baby gets here... was obviously too keen!

I'm being bad and sitting on the sofa at the moment... need to sit on a dining room chair or birthing ball to get little one to turn (hes head down but back to back. Had a week on mat leave so far and really enjoying it.. I agree that I seem to be v busy!

Oh and good luck for today star!

pamplem0usse · 03/08/2010 12:57

Ahh just had a lovely morning in John Lewis (officially my favourite shop).... buying perfume and makeup
Got my lovely Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb and bits and pieces of benefit and clinique makeup. I did get home and start to wonder why I'd bought several items of the makeup (blue mascara anyone?!!!) but hey ho!!
Also some Brabantia liners for my lovely new bathroom bin as rather annoyingly the supermarkets dont seem to stock them. £4.50 for binliners though :s.... eek!
Looks like they tried to deliver my birthing ball while I was out though so might have to trail to the post office. Never mind will be lovely to have it as mega uncomfortable on our bouncy sofas!

Alice I'm quite happy to go next!!! Please!!

Star good luck!

Got lots of cooking done yesterday which very chuffed about and more to do today..... getting to the end of my list of pre-baby jobs now!

Had a big tiff with DH this morning. I was halfway down the stairs and he asked me to come back.... I said something along the lines of 'no, it feels like climbing up a mountain at the moment, you come to me!'.... he decided to take offense at my tone, I think maybe because he just wanted to get me to put some earrings on that he'd bought me for our anniversary earlier this year..... but he got really snappy and told me that 'he couldn't even have a proper conversation with me these days'. Not impressed, feeling hormonal enough without him wingeing about my refusal to go back upstairs. Anyway moan over, he apologised so I think he realised he was being a bit of a prick for about the fourth time in as many days......

vix206 · 03/08/2010 13:29

Hey everyone, thinking of Star right now - she'll be at the hospital having her babies as I type!!

First day of mat leave and how have I spent it so far, in my dining room at my computer dealing with awkward customers, accountant and delivery problems. Not the start I had planned it really upset me I must admit but I would be kidding myself if I thought for one second I could just cut off from the business...

Going to remove myself from computer as soon as I have posted this so I'm not tempted to do more work. I plan to do some gentle ironing and maybe some baking.

Feeling a bit frail now, emotionally and physically. I've physically got to the point where I literally can't walk more than a few paces without such terrible pressure I want to cry. I consider myself quite fit so I'm a bit worried because nobody else I know (on here or in real life) seems to have had this problem. I couldn't even imagine going shopping now for example, and I'm only 38+1... but the pressure down below is just unbearable.

TMI alert but had the worst constipation ever today and ended up in tears because it was so painful and made me panic that if that hurts so much how on earth will I cope with a natural childbirth? Mind you I am really teary at the moment anyway so most things are pushing me over the edge!

Ah well, shan't be long now - I'm going to shuffle off upstairs for a lie down for half an hour and then get on with some gentle housework.

mrsZaC · 03/08/2010 13:42

owh vix have you tried the birth breathing for your consipation, I find it really works... but then again I haven't had it as bad as that sounds - poor you. I've not got it 1/2 as bad as you but I do know what you mean about the pain when walking around thing, especially when walking up a hill! also if I try to move anything with my feet it's impossible as it feels like something will tear apart between my legs!! I think you need some 'me' time away from the computer, can you not divert your emails etc. to someone else? or an out of office or something.

CONGRATULATIONS bubba what a lovely name you've chosen for your little boy, I too feel warm n' fuzzy thinking of you all snuggled up with your little Aidan.

hope star is doing well, how exciting!!!

sparkle cake for bribing sounds good, I think with all this difficult bfeeding going on they might need us to keep them supplied ;0)

alice glad you've managed to get some help, it's important! I'm not very good at asking for help either!...

Totally knackered myself out yesterday tearing apart the spare room and shifting furniture boxes etc. Cuz I find it much easier to do it without DH, he gets frustratingly upset & stressed at the sight of mess, which gets me even more angry, so much easier to do it on my own. However I did draw the line at shifting large pieces of furniture around. On the plus side the nursery is taking shape, still lots to do and thinking about painting (not told DH yet ;0)) but least it looks more like a room for baby now. Lots of stuff to ebay/gumtree to keep me busy over the next few weeks, been brutal with dresses etc.

chulita keep trooping girl, you can do it is there someone you can ask for help?

Happy Tuesday ladies!

cazzybabs · 03/08/2010 13:50

so last night contractions started about 11pm ... 5-7 minutes between them lasting 45scs - 1 minute. got Tens machine out, woke dh up...huffed and puffed alot and wished I had gone down the ecs route...went to the loo about a billiion times had my show...dh got up about 7.30 phoned his mum to come round ... contractions stopped ... they have just started again but are quite irregular and mild (ha ha ha) .. sent MIL off to work and dh and kids to the park.

Thought I had days left ...

vix206 · 03/08/2010 13:56

MrszaC my dh is dealing with the emails he can, but today it was just bad fortune that there were 2 or 3 awkward ones he couldn't deal with. We've tried to be really honest on the website, emails and answerphone about the current situation but sadly some customers really don't care and are very demanding and unfriendly.

I feel really sorry and guilty for dh as he now has 2 full time jobs and then has to come home to more work cos I can't do as much around the house as I would like to.

I tried birth breathing but it didn't help this morning, normally it does but it was really bad today. Having a lie down now though and trying to chill out and cheer up

mrsZaC · 03/08/2010 13:57

woo hoo go cazzy!

vix206 · 03/08/2010 13:57

Ooh cross posted with you cazzy - sounds exciting

cazzybabs · 03/08/2010 14:03

yes but now I am remembering it hurts.

Vix - bugger the housework ... go and have a sleep

MrsZC - my dh is the same... I can only -throw-things-out- sort out when he is away

cazzybabs · 03/08/2010 14:04

my crossing out didn't work... never mind

mrsZaC · 03/08/2010 14:08

haha cazzy, glad to hear it's not just my DH! just wish I could get on with things on my own like I normally do - ah well nearly done.

It will be a breeze this time round cazzy got a good feeling for ya!

owh vix darlin I really feel sorry for you & your DH, customers can me such mean buggers!! it will all be worth it though when you meet you LO. You just need to remember you'll be no use to man nor beast if you run yourself down, so go rest and relax with a nice drink

ElusiveMoose · 03/08/2010 14:14

Good luck Cazzy, and keep us posted when you can!

I kind of thought something might be happening here this morning, as I had a few strong BHs/mild contractions, but I think it was just because I was doing a bit of exercise (went for a lovely walk around a local nature reserve with DS). Zilch now, so back to the waiting game, methinks...

LittleMissSnowShine · 03/08/2010 14:27

Good luck cazzy!! Can't wait to hear some updates

Pample - Totally agree about making unneccessary trips up and down stairs. Even getting me off the sofa once I've finally decided to put my feet up can be a challenge!! Had something similar from my OH on Sunday afternoon - in fairness to him I was being incredibly, irrationally grumpy to the point of rage but for god's sake. Being pregnant can be hard bloody work some days and if men had to do it you can be sure we'd all hear about it all the time!!

Elusive - Me too, had loads of cramping during the night, felt very like onset of contractions but when i drifted off to sleep they stopped and haven't shown any real sign of returning. But at least now I have a sparkling clean bathroom, an empty wash basket and a freezer freshly filled with food. Only a lasagne to do and the sofa covers to wash over next couple of days and then I'm officially done with the nesting phase and I'm going to just bounce on birth ball watching trashy tv until LO admits defeat and decides to arrive lol

LittleMissSnowShine · 03/08/2010 14:29

PS) Today was my original due date before it got moved back 3 weeks so I think that might be the reason I'm feeling especially twitchy today!!

weehector · 03/08/2010 14:44

Go cazzy and go quickly. At 6 days over, I think you've been a serene goddess..I for one, will be moaning my face off if there's no baby by next week...so you deserve a quick & easy ride.

vix that's rubbish that you haven't been able to relax into your first full day of mat leave - how disappointing, you were so fired up for it. I'm sure it's just a blip of a day..chalk off another day, get away from that computer & start again tomorrow.

pample I'd have loved that shopping trip, how lovely, spoiling, & all about you! Hope you feel gorgeous.

littlemiss I'll happily try one of these muffins..they sound yummy but healthy. When I read manuka honey, it took me back to happy days in NZ & funky little cafe in Queenstown that bakes similar treats...ah, when I was action girl instead of a spacehopper (DH's current term of affection for me).

More nesting in Weehectorland. I took delivery of a sexy new Cornishware pudding basin yesterday (I know, the things that turn me on) so I have made my
first ever summer fruits pudding this morning as well as more housework. DH starts 5 weeks paternity leave as of 9pm tonight and whilst it will be lovely to have him here, it'll be even more of a relief to know that he'll definitely make it to the hospital with me. The joys of being a Merchant Navy wife!

So as of today, we have 10 babies over(due), including Caz & hopefully star will be there or thereabouts by now - do we reckon we'll have 3 babies born today?

LittleMissSnowShine · 03/08/2010 15:27

yeah, come on babies, 3 more of you today, you can do it!!

just took muffins out of the oven, made them with organic yogurt, milk and butter, freerange eggs, fresh fruit and that gorgeous honey. they smell lush - was going to freeze them all but think i can sneak one with a cup of tea

just remembered to order a TENS machine today! hospital has them but service doesn't seem great, you only get it a week before your expected due date etc which is obviously not much good if you go early so glad i've got that ordered and it should arrive on Sat which is officially 37 weeks woo hoo!!

pamplem0usse · 03/08/2010 16:00

Weehector on the shopping front did you ever manage to get your bag..... (or an equivalent)....
LittleMiss I meant to say a while ago mucho respect for you having got your PhD done; I'm very jealous I still have a years worth of work to do :s on the plus side my Research Council has provided a very nice maternity leave package!
Really must get up now; have spent the afternoon eating cake and watching Harry Potter in bed. Bliss.

JamieJay · 03/08/2010 16:08

I've not had much chance to post but just to report that still no sign of baby here despite yesterday being my official due date (and my scan had actually put last Thursday as my due date!!).

Have a gut feeling that it's going to be next week before anything happens here, thankfully I'm not suffering too much apart from the heartburn from hell .

Good luck cazzy, hope it's quick for you.

weehector hope baby comes soon for you so your DH can make the most of his paternity leave.

littlemiss making me feeling very hungry here, have done a load of meals for the freezer but have never really mastered to art of muffin making

vix hope you manage to avoid the computer tomorrow and enjoy some down time.

Congrats to all of you that are keeping going with the breastfeeding, am getting increasingly nervous about it.

loobyt · 03/08/2010 16:10

Hi all and good luck cazzy and star, very exciting.

Much the same here as with you all, very uncomfortable, heartburn and sleepless nights, oh well only three weeks to go.

Our house is coming along now and although we have a finished up stairs the down stairs is not finished yet so we are living during the day in the caravan in the garden still. BUT we should be completely moved in by abou this time next week. Can wait and very mcuh looking forward to doing some nesting, can't really do that in the caravan!

Looking forward to some birth announcements later on today!

thecoffeelady · 03/08/2010 16:20

hello ladies!

Congrats to all the ladies who have had their babies.

Can I join the fed up ladies who just want their babies out? 39+1 today and just want this baby to turn up. I want to be a proper mummy to dd. I had acupuncture yesterday and I am going back tomorrow for another go.

Did some last minute hospital bag shopping today, I think I am all done now. then we came home and DD and I made some lemon cupcakes to take over to the IL's later

Fingers crossed some of us pop tonight!

Alicetheinvisible · 03/08/2010 16:44

I too have had enough of being pg, but the thought that this baby is due in 6 days scares the life out of me!

Have given the stairs a really good clean so at least fulfilling my nesting instinct!

pamplem0usse · 03/08/2010 16:45

Just a quick one........

I've been trying to keep in touch with Caz, just to let her know that we're all thinking of her as her due date approaches (her and Jon have just had their wedding anniversary too, so it's a very emotional time for them).

She isn't ready to post yet, but has been keeping up with the thread and the new arrivals, and asked if I'd pass on her congratulations (she also commented on your lovely names for them all!).....

xx

Chulita · 03/08/2010 17:10

go cazzy go! [waves flag] hope it's a quick one and you're cuddling your LO by now

vix I was massively constipated with S and got loads of lactulose to tide me over. I'm pretty anaemic now so on iron pills and I'm even more clogged so still chugging the lactulose, just about keeps me going I had huge pressure down there too before I had S, I found it painful to walk very far at all so you're not alone!

caz we're all thinking of you, hope you and your DH are getting all the support you need.

star hope everything's gone to plan and you're snuggling with your two gorgeous little ones.

Keep going ladies, you're getting there faster than you realise

vix206 · 03/08/2010 17:22

Thanks Chulita, can I go and get lactulose at the chemist or should I see a doctor? x
