Ciaran's Thread For Bereaved Mammies... Where It's Not About Finding The Answers, It's About Learning To Live With The Questions...

Many many thanks to TW and Harry for passing the baton to myself and Ciaran.

Ladies, i found this poem, and thought it was particularly apt for this thread.

The Gift of Someone Who Listens

Those of us who have traveled awhile
Along this path called grief
Need to stop and remember that mile,
The first mile of no relief.
It wasn't the person with answers,
Who told us the ways to deal.
It wasn't the one who talked and talked
That helped us start to heal.
Think of friends who quietly sat
And held our hands in theirs,
The ones who let us talk and talk
And hugged away our tears.
We need to always remember
That, more than the words we speak,
It's the gift of someone who listens
That most of us desperately seek.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 14/05/2009 10:11

Get better vibes to FM and TW.

It's bloody cold here today. I knew this would happen. Last week I bought sun hats and linen shirts for Mac, and this week the weather has been shite.

Any news on FB about Lighthouse yet?

frasersmummy · 14/05/2009 14:12

I have just returned from running around on the Glasow subway..The trains just run in a big circle. You can buy an all day ticket for £3 and get on and off as much as you like

I took Ross to see how many places he could get his picture taken at.

I think we managed about 8 landmarks ..Ross loved the whole on and off thing... its nice to do these daft things while he is too young to say I dont think so mum!

but I didnt realise how many subway stations dont have escalators.. oh my poor tired legs

hazygirl · 14/05/2009 17:36

lottiejenkins · 14/05/2009 17:39

I so love this song.............. Dont know if I have posted it before, My friend B lost her son Oliver ten years ago he would have been 21 on the 1st June... One of the most fantastic children you could wish to meet............. this song was playing when i was getting ready for his funeral. Always reminds me of him.......

Morning all, im off to collect Wilf later.......................!!!
Why are people so unpleasent? A horrid thread on The Sleb part. About Jade Goody saying if she had caught swine flu she maybe would have got more publicity!!! I reported it last night but havent heard back from MNHQ yet!!

shabster · 15/05/2009 08:38

Lottie - the majority of MN is great BUT the same old names come up on the horrible threads - you are right to report it but you cant stop the MN playground bullys - remember I tried and 'paid' for my efforts

Bet you cant wait to see Wilf xx

lottiejenkins · 15/05/2009 08:40

Am very excited Shabs!!! Its ten days since ive seen him, Mr Carpenter was here the other day, hes going to put me a shelf in the kitchen cupboard for me!

Deemented · 15/05/2009 08:45

Anything we can do to help Dee? We could lend an ear if that helps?

Deemented · 15/05/2009 08:56

Thanks ILike... but this is something i need to sort through on my own. I'll tell one day... i'll have to... but not just yet.
