Ciaran's Thread For Bereaved Mammies... Where It's Not About Finding The Answers, It's About Learning To Live With The Questions...

Many many thanks to TW and Harry for passing the baton to myself and Ciaran.

Ladies, i found this poem, and thought it was particularly apt for this thread.

The Gift of Someone Who Listens

Those of us who have traveled awhile
Along this path called grief
Need to stop and remember that mile,
The first mile of no relief.
It wasn't the person with answers,
Who told us the ways to deal.
It wasn't the one who talked and talked
That helped us start to heal.
Think of friends who quietly sat
And held our hands in theirs,
The ones who let us talk and talk
And hugged away our tears.
We need to always remember
That, more than the words we speak,
It's the gift of someone who listens
That most of us desperately seek.

I have just had a bit of a weep, when I left Ali's a while ago i bumped into my friends Jack who would have been the same age as my Jack, i got to thinking that if Jack had been here he would have been walking home from school too..........

Lottie I know that feeling

Harry has got a cousin who is 2 months younger than him and every time I see her I think of what he would be doing now . I do love her but it is really hard to see her sometimes

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 12/05/2009 21:25

I guess we all have the 'what would they be doing now' moments. They're bloody difficult sometimes aren't they?

It's just shit, shit, shit isn't it?

FM - how is your mum doing? I hope she's on the mend.

Thanks TW - Im feeling good today - not sure why!!! Lew is fast asleep but my house looks like it has been trashed by burglars How much mess can an 11month old make in one hour!! xxxx

travellingwilbury · 13/05/2009 09:01

Are you blaming that poor innocent baby for all that mess ?

I am not sure I would even notice if burglars had been in and trashed mine tbh . I have done nothing except the bare minimum for days . I am still poorly sick though

shabster · 13/05/2009 09:28

morning all

TBH I think mum is going to be ill now for the rest of her life. The doctors dont seem to know what is causing it and they seem to have given up trying to find out.

I spoke to the consultant who said when you get older and you are a bit overweight these things can happen. Oh fab!!

We were going to get a second opinion but mum is sick of hsopitals and tests so we have put that on hold for the moment

hope everyone is ok today ..

frasersmummy · 13/05/2009 09:44
