I tried everything to save him. He was 27.

I don't know how I am going to get through this.

I'm so sorry for your family's loss.

It sounds like he was finally turning the corner- he sounds like a kind young man, he's obviously adored by his brother and sister.

I am going to go up now with Dd and see if we can both rest our eyes. Mine are so sore from crying.

I'm so sorry. Please take care of yourself! There are no words and I have a friend who lost her best friend yesterday in the same circumstances, he was also your sons age with siblings of the same age to. If they are the same person then there are so many people there to support you all, as im sure there are either way. I wish you and your family all the best and time to grieve. X

There are no words..I am so so sorry for you and your families pain...so sorry....the words 'just breathe' from another poster are so true...I regularly hang unto to those words following a death in my family recently..so much so I'm planning on getting a tattoo with them...just concentrate on breathing..minute by minute by minute...I know I don't know you but I'm thinking about you

Yes tea is necessary fuel at this time! It also gives you something task orientated to do which stops you temporarily drowning.
You and DD cling to each other. Has your other DS gone off to sleep now ? X

It feels against all the rules of life and nature for a child to go before a parent. Please know that you have an outlet here and real people that are feeling for you in your grief and willing to try and help you through it.

I recently lost my brother due to his mental health issues. Not drug related. Just his refusal to accept treatment from NHS because of his schizophrenia. My brother had a treatable bone infection. But refused treatment, and died. I am so, so sorry for your loss. The loss of a child far outweighs the loss of a sibling. I know that. But I feel just a little bit of your pain. It's going to be alright. You have a lot to go through yet. Just take each day. as it comes. Just keep going through the everyday motions. It will slowly get to a point where you can feel normal again.
And enjoy some simple things again. It will get better. Promise.

I am so sorry for this terrible loss. There is clearly so much love and togetherness in your family, he was and will always be part of that, part of you all.

So sorry for your loss. Drug addiction and mental illness are diseases for which there are not yet very good treatments. Please don't blame yourself. You have done your best and hopefully some day soon there will be better treatments and cures for these diseases. Just like we have for cancers in a way that didn't exist 20 years ago. I have a child with mental illness and substance abuse issues and completely feel your pain.
