What are the most unusual names you've ever heard of?

I love the name 'Honeysuckle'.

WantageWife · 25/04/2010 19:55

one of the girls in my extended family is called Kinvara - named after a small Irish village I believe. Pretty name though, and unusual.

Jammyrella · 25/04/2010 20:02

I used to work in hospitals and had a patient called Adolfina and knew of a doctor called Dr Nimrod Ron.

Scrudd · 25/04/2010 20:02

It's probably dead normal in Somalia. Sorry, don't know how to spell it.

After the poem, but I just think it's a fabulous name. DP says not - glad we have a girl

duchesse · 25/04/2010 23:36

Metalica- a rather beautiful but self-obsessed 12 year old when I first taught her. Spent a lot of time explaining her parents' choice of name for her.

takethatlady · 26/04/2010 09:28

This is awful but my friend who is a lawyer was working on a case with three children whose middle names were 'Nighthawk', 'Oceana' (after the mother's favourite nightclub) and - no lie - 'Whatever', because the mother asked the father what the middle name should be, and he said 'whatever'.

That last has to be the worst name I have ever heard.

theagedparent · 26/04/2010 11:54

War and Slayne (boys)

MamaLazarou · 26/04/2010 14:57

In what universe are Amelie and Emilia unusual?!

Rockbird · 26/04/2010 15:16

MIL has a name I have never heard before, I'd be willing to wager she's the only person in the world with the name! But because of that, I can't write it on here

Phew96 · 26/04/2010 15:23

I know a little boy called "J"

JumpJockey · 26/04/2010 15:25
