A cousin of mine named their daughter Persephone, which had us all talking as it's so unusual.

My American friend told me of someone she knew calling their little girl Sh'Purple because it was their favourite colour.. Jerry Springer line up in waiting!!

I worked with a lady called Desna.

I believe it is a river in Russia or that part of the world.

I asked her how she got her name and she said get dad chose it as he had an old girlfriend with the same name! Not sure how I'd react if DH said he wanted to name a child after his ex!

Stridor (boy)

Poonam (girl) although it maybe fairly normal in Asian families, she was Asian.

went to school with a Solitaire, had forgotten that until an earlier poster mentioned it. I think there was a James Bond charachter called it perhaps that was who she was named after it would have been the seventies.
