yep.i had to get them to repeat it about 3 times as thought that cant be right.

Oh god, the first time I took dd to nursery I was introduced to a few of the other babies, and I had the most difficult time keeping a straight face.

And anytime I'm introduced to a Freya (which seems to be every second girl baby these days) I have to seriously bite my lip.

an ex boyfriend of mine introduced me to his son roger and daughter barbara about six weeks ago apparantly they are both family names so he 'had' to use them i almost choked on my mouthful of vimto
i think there will always be someone who dislikes any name but some just take the biscuit

My mum's name's Barbara! Although she is in her late 50's, not 5 weeks

For me, it's not the names themselves, it's when the proud parents announce the name, thinking they've been totally original, and then glare at you when you say 'oh yes we know a very cute Hubert'. I stumbled into that one recently.

A (really lovely) lady who lives in the street behind us has a daughter called Missy which I had to repeat several times to make sure I'd got it right.

Mums name is Barbara it's an ok name but just not very baby like.

But then Tilly/Milly/Molly etc etc are all cute but not v adult like I suppose but that's a whole other thread....
