Butts (worked with someone who kept her xdh's last name as this was her maiden name)

met a trolly dolly who had a foreign last name, when said out loud sounded like dumbitch. not suprisingly, it took her a long time to tell us her last name.

Boco · 24/02/2008 21:35

[narrows eyes]
That was my grandma's maiden name actually.

I think Munter is worse.

in Confessions of a Failed Southern Lady the author writes about a society lady who was called a Miss Holder and married a Mr Ball. She became Mrs Ball but when they divorced according to Southern etiquette she hyphenated her maiden name and became the proud owner of the title Mrs Ball-Holder.

I think I particularly like that one because it's entirely self-inflicted! Anyone can have parents called Cock or Smelley but it takes a special kind of guts to CHOOSE to be a Ball-Holder.
