Head turning baby names

Have you heard any recently that have made you do a double take? I know of two baby Jason's born in the last two years, the first of which I found very unusual, the second of which is making me think this is maybe coming back in vogue and I'm behind the times?

Having had two kids and worked in schools, I don't think much would turn my head these days, unless there's some really obviously cultural reference that the parents have missed.

I know a 5 year old Jason. It’s a lovely, classic name that deserves a proper comeback.

I work in a school and in recent years the only name I’ve done a double take at was Alan, I think of it as a name for someone my dads age.

Bixby and Bison (as in the animal)

Fenton did it for me. He was on a school trip and I did wonder if the teacher was having a laugh.

'Fenton! FENTON! Come here!'

I know a Fauna, which really surprised me at first.

Nathan was on my shortlist of boys names, but we had a girl. I love it. We'd have shortened to Nate as a nickname.

@meadowbleu can't work out if it's a genius plan or super confusing - I'm always saying the wrong name so I guess if we all had the same one it would make life easier

I know plenty my own age, but haven't taught a single one in the past 10 years.

I heard a child being called Sunbeam today. The mum shouted it twice, to get their attention. That made me do a double take.
