Have you heard any recently that have made you do a double take? I know of two baby Jason's born in the last two years, the first of which I found very unusual, the second of which is making me think this is maybe coming back in vogue and I'm behind the times?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

@AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken

Ian!!!!

Turns out I’d misheard and it was actually Kian though

How disappointing!

TrussOnABus · 15/10/2021 22:34

A friend named her daughter Elsa and then vehemently denied it was inspired by Frozen

miniwolf · 15/10/2021 22:36

Buster

Scarby9 · 15/10/2021 22:39

Atlas for a girl for me surprised me too, although a couple of years ago now.

LynetteScavo · 15/10/2021 22:39

@IggyAce

I work in a school and in recent years the only name I’ve done a double take at was Alan, I think of it as a name for someone my dads age.

I think I'm probably related to this Alan - there can be only one ages under 18 (apparently it works well in English and Spanish)

OzziePopPop · 15/10/2021 22:43

My ex called his child Loki. Quite cute but the kid really isn’t a ‘Loki’ type at all, Alan might have suited him better……

AtomHeartMotherOfGod · 15/10/2021 22:46

What's the chick from the Exorcist called?

Sorry if this has already been said Wink

For mixed reasons, maybe Delilah, Connie, Bo, Lillibet (!), Angharad, Cassia.

For boys, Bear, Blue/Bleu, Edwin, Woodrow.

gogohm · 15/10/2021 22:48

There's a kid called Ozzie at playgroup, not sure if it's a full name, another is called destiny and another diseree

Redredwiney · 15/10/2021 22:48

I met a baby Michael recently. Nothing wrong with the name, was just odd to be introduced to a baby called Michael when I haven’t seen the name in anyone younger than 30!

User85858686 · 15/10/2021 22:49

Twins called Marley and Hendrix 😭

shinynewapple21 · 15/10/2021 22:51

@EgbertNoBac0n

Sisters Destiny and Serenity
Love those names and they aren't particularly unusual
craftyminer · 15/10/2021 22:51

Recently met a 3 year old called Janet which seemed totally out of step with her siblings modern names

Pieceofpurplesky · 15/10/2021 22:52

I met a baby Keith recently. I guess names like that will be coming around again.

Have taught a beautiful child called Meadow and it really suited her. Pixie, Piper and Star likewise

Harleynotsothin · 15/10/2021 22:52

Patrick, Woodrow and Bruce are all names we used/were going to use.

Personally I think all are strong classic men's names. They won't be babies very long, pick a man's name.

craftyminer · 15/10/2021 22:53

@StacySolomanisamassivetwat I know a Hendrix too! With all these makey uppy style names they seem crazy at first and then you just get used to them.

MumofSpud · 15/10/2021 22:58

I know a teenage Japan - as far as I know she / her parents has no links to the country / has never visited Hmm

GrannieD · 15/10/2021 23:04

I looked after a little boy called Dave- not short for David, a girl called Willie with her surname meaning a similar word, and my relative has twins called Claxon and Garibald.

2Two · 15/10/2021 23:21

Orlando, Florian and Persephone, all siblings.

Heruka · 15/10/2021 23:30
