Me and my hubby are trying for our rainbow baby and I love the name sailor.

I actually like it a lot. I don’t see how it’s anybworse than Taylor, which seems to be considered a pretty normal name now, if not to some people’s taste.

I wouldn’t use it though - other people’s reactions (eg on this thread) would really put me off.

I wouldn’t mind being called Sailor either... It’s definitely more interesting and memorable than my real name!

If you do this you will setting your child up for a lifetime of ridicule.

Why in the world would you want that?

Bunnyfuller · 06/11/2018 18:21

Frigate
Nelson
Horatio
Fearless
Hermes
Any ship your gramps sailed on
Plymouth/fuzz
Portsmouth/Pompey

Sailor is a bit weak, go all the way!

Harry Roughers
Rum ration

Personal fave: seaman (able)

God no. Sailor is awful.

If a man approached me and introduced himself as sailor I would honestly think he was taking the piss or trying to be funny.

KateTTC123 · 07/11/2018 10:14

I like it :)

Ihavethistoo · 07/11/2018 11:48

Absolutely ridiculous

Ihavethistoo · 07/11/2018 11:50

If your so confident that it's an amazing name wtf would you ask on here.

I'm
Snorting at it because I keep singing 🎤 "what shall we do with the drunken sailor what shall we do with the drunken sailor"

🤣😂🤣😂

Ihavethistoo · 07/11/2018 11:52

This thread 🤣🤣

Op. Where are you or has this ship sailed?

🚣‍♀️

FairyHeet · 07/11/2018 14:40

No no and no again.

It is completely ridiculous

MsTSwift · 08/11/2018 17:58

My test with these names if you like it so much why doesn’t your dh change his name to Sailor? If he baulks at doing so there’s your answer...

Twelve8Ts · 08/11/2018 22:38

Surely an adult changing their name to anything would be seen as slightly unusual?
