Thanks all Smile yep, his last name! I also suggested I pick first he picks second, he wasn't happy about that Angry

He has just suggested Brodie actually, I think I like it? What do you think?

I know I have 6 weeks or so, but it'll soon be here and we'll be in the same situation!

Your list is great. His is awful. The only name I'd consider from his is Gideon.

My favourite from yours is Alexander (as I've used that myself lol).

Samuel, Isaac, Zachary and Benjamin are my next favourites from your list. :)

redgoat · 28/03/2016 16:56

Ooh, I do quite like Brodie.

You need to get him to do the King Test. King Ryder sounds ridiculous. Xx

notagiraffe · 28/03/2016 16:58

I love all the names on your list and none on his, except Gideon, which is great and traditional. Could you bear it?
Or try and push him towards Kieran, Rueben or Izaak/Isaac (Zak) on your list. Slightly less mainstream and more like his list but still trad proper names. Most of his list is truly awful, sorry.

MilkTwoSugarsThanks · 28/03/2016 16:59

Agree with your DH, then register your DS when your DH is at work. Call him what you want Wink

Julius02 · 28/03/2016 17:00

Some other suggestions -

Rex
Eric
Ivan
Lucas
Max
Patrick
Leo
Paul

CleverPlansAndSecretTricks · 28/03/2016 17:01

You have much better taste in names. If baby has his surname then I think you get to pick first name. Ask him which of your list he hates least?

AlisonWunderland · 28/03/2016 17:06

Brodie is good.
Middle ground between sensible and WTF?

Thethingswedoforlove · 28/03/2016 17:06

Pls pls not griffin! Brodie is the best of his suggestions but I wd continue to work on Jack if I were you!

ILovePies · 28/03/2016 17:08

Love your list!
Really love Brodie :)
Please updated us on what you choose!! X

thebestfurchinchilla · 28/03/2016 17:08

Don't like Brodie. Like Ivan but (pronounced evan not eyevan) Leo is a good strong name as is Theo. I agree about the king test. I did that but I did PM and royal wedding test lol

AngelsWithFilthySouls · 28/03/2016 17:09

I like Daniel, Joseph and Kieran (although I'd go Ciaran). I like the idea of Cian as a compromise with Kyan or even Ciar/Keir?

Brodie is his best suggestion.

green18 · 28/03/2016 17:13

Oscar, Caleb, Zed, Felix, Theodore/Theo, Milo,Blaise

GreenLounger · 28/03/2016 17:16

He said his least hated is Kieran, but doesn't want his son called it, I'm really at a loss.

I really like the suggestions, thank you x

Show him this thread , he might rethink if he realises what most people think of his suggestions.

GreenLounger · 28/03/2016 17:22

Willoughby is his new suggestion - he says I could still use the NN Billy, as it's like William... I really don't think it's nice as a first name?

OP posts:
Undercooked · 28/03/2016 17:24

I'm afraid I think Brodie is a name like Jayden: very 'of the moment' and not timeless or Classic in anyway.

Your names are classic and classless. His are the opposite. Stick to your guns!

Isaidboomboomboom · 28/03/2016 17:24

I like Griffin or Griffith....How about Jacoby? Can shorten to Jack or Coby or Jacob?

Undercooked · 28/03/2016 17:25

Willoughby!

Is your DH suffering from post natal hormones?

Billy is lovely. Why not just christen him Billy?

JacobFryesTopHatLackey · 28/03/2016 17:26

He is so cute. The hair! Aaaaaw. I like all of your list green. Your DHs, otoh, is dire.

My back up names for my DSes were Arthur, Rory, Oliver and Felix.

JacobFryesTopHatLackey · 28/03/2016 17:27

Oooooh. I like Jacob too. Obviously Grin

GreenLounger · 28/03/2016 17:28

Thanks all, but Brodie is a very old name (Scottish, I think?)

Brody is very American.

However, I agree, it isn't as nice as my ones! Wink

Honestly, he is an odd ball with some things! He is an artist and likes quirky things Hmm it isn't an issue, I love his art, but naming our child is becoming a difficult task!

He "doesn't like Billy enough" AngrySad

thebestfurchinchilla · 28/03/2016 17:30

You carried this baby for 9 months and gave birth, you should have the ultimate decision. My DH didn't dare!

GreenLounger · 28/03/2016 17:33

Honestly, that's what I was thinking! Bad birth too SadSad I was hoping he'd just pick one out of the TWENTY I gave him to pick from!!!

I think the mistake was, he consulted MIL for advice...

"You have as much of a right to get a name you absolutely love too" Hmm I do agree, but uh! Envy

Artandco · 28/03/2016 17:35

Lionel ? Traditional yet unusual now
Angus or Magnus? Like August he likes but again more traditional
