Hi all,

If you can't find a name on his list, and he can't find name on yours then you both need new lists Smile however that isn't always easy either.
He looks like an Albert to me, or a Arthur so I am obviously not helping - I really just wanted to say he is one of the most gorgeous bubbas I have seen in a long time, congratulations xxx

SoupDragon · 28/03/2016 19:10

He will have Jack, but then he gets to pick the middle name?

No, that is not a good deal. What planet is he on?

I agree that you both need new lists.

GreenLounger · 28/03/2016 19:13

Thanks all Smile I gave him 20 names Sad am I supposed to do a new list with different ones? Sigh, I'll make him do one too

Clinton, Cruz and Nixon? Really?
Elvis?

Tell him he is forbidden to think of names and you (MN) will name the child. He has bad taste. MN my verdict.

You carried for 9 months and delivered that delightful super baby. At the very least you should have veto power. And keep vetoing his names.

In fact, insist on him choosing from a list that you prepared, and you will select (or veto) from his list for middle names.

ApocalypseSlough · 28/03/2016 19:15

Jack is lovely. What about Pascal or Dominic for the Easter connotation? I don't like Benjamin for any but the last born (which is what it means).
But most of all- he's gorgeous!!

PennyHasNoSurname · 28/03/2016 19:15

What about Rex? It is historic, as well as being currently a short trendy name?

We have a Travis which I love and is uncommon.

GreenLounger · 28/03/2016 19:17

I quite like Dominic, but I think Pascal is too unusual for me Sad I like the Easter connection though!

I'll get back to you with our new lists x

What about Christian?

Goingtobeawesome · 28/03/2016 19:27

Sidney
Frank
Gorgeous

junebirthdaygirl · 28/03/2016 19:28

Please don't agree to calling him Jack after all your lovely names. Its too popular now and you are not even impressed with it. How about Nathaniel or Simon

Quickchangeup · 28/03/2016 19:43

I'm watching Ace Ventura so I'm just going to throw Ace in as in comparison to you DH choices it's a winner!
Personally I like Jack, it was super popular but not so much now.
A few ideas for you:
Nate, short for Nathaniel
Oberon
Maxim
Kier
Henry
Dexter
Bay
Clancy
Malachi
Orson
Blake
Oakley

Sorry run out of ideas now. Your DS is super cute!!! Congratulations Flowers

daisydalrymple · 28/03/2016 19:44

Looking at your original list op
Thomas
Simon
Peter
Robert
Nicholas (half a chance dp will think it similar to Nixon??)

Winston??? (Going with dp's list).

But I find it sad you're going to compromise on a name for your gorgeous ds and end up potentially with a name you both think is ok rather than love. Can't you just start calling him Matthew (eg) and say to dp (with tears rolling down face) but he just IS Matthew!

daisydalrymple · 28/03/2016 19:47

In fact how about Peter Robert? Easter Grin sounds like Peter rabbit for the Easter link??

Or, being more serious, is there anybody special you could name him after? My best friend died a few years before dd was born. we named dd after her and it felt even more special with dd arriving Easter Sunday.

hollyisalovelyname · 28/03/2016 19:53

Congratulations OP he is adorable.
Your list is so much classier than your partners list.
Dare I say it. ... his list is a bit chavvy.
Trying too hard to be trendy.

daisydalrymple · 28/03/2016 19:59

Axl Easter Grin cross between your Alexander and his Saxon - and continuing the Saxon Rock theme if that's why dp chose that one?? I'm not being that helpful now, I'll just keep quiet and hope you reach a good compromise. Gorgeous Easter boy x

badg3r · 28/03/2016 20:00

He wanted to call him Oak?!! You had a (ridiculously cute!) baby not a Gladiator!! I was going to suggest Pascal but see you aren't so keen. But your taste in names is quite similar to mine.

In the nicest way, I would be having a serious chat with DH though about how DS will grow up to be a teenager and a man and names that are very odd could be a source of tremendous pride or tremendous embarrassment.

How about Ivor, or Hamish, Ruaridh, Murdo, Crawford (if Brodie is on the cards because of the Scottish link), Jonas, Yann? I really like Griffin too, or Grayson but don't think he looks like a Grayson

Call him what you like and register it when DH is at work Wink

possum18 · 28/03/2016 20:01

I just asked DP the picture and not either lists, he automatically said he looks like a Daniel, which is on your list!

FauxFox · 28/03/2016 20:03

Ace is quite nice actually...or Brodie...other names I have known kids with that are a bit 'different' but also nice:
Dallas
Buddy
Etienne
Finn
Quinn
Jody
Beau
Maxen
Mason
Rory
Leo

FauxFox · 28/03/2016 20:05

Also Jesse is a gorgeous boy name

RiaOverTheRainbow · 28/03/2016 20:07

Andrew
Connor
Curtis
Ewan
Finley
Gilbert
Grant
Gwyn
Kester
Liam

LotsofDots · 28/03/2016 20:16

Brodie is definitely the best of his suggestions, I rather like that and my name list is similar to yours. Do not compromise on Jack, it wasn't even on your list!

Pleasemrstweedie · 28/03/2016 20:18

Another vote for Pascal, but Brodie is good.

MadameJosephine · 28/03/2016 20:21

What a gorgeous baby!

I always wanted a boy called Darwin or Edison (nn Eddie) but DP vetoed both and I've been suggesting them for other people's babies ever since. Edison sounds like it might suit your DP's tastes? Or how about Franklin (nn Frankie)?

JacobFryesTopHatLackey · 28/03/2016 20:25

I like Ethan off your list green. Very similar to my DS (Ewan)
