New Year & a New thread - post what you hope to start/finish this week!

I have bought lots of fabby gemstones & I want to try & make some different types of jewellery, different ways of stringing etc.

DH also bought me some rainbow fluorite & I want to make myself a necklace & bracelet, although am still pondering what style I fancy!

(& my bog is sadly neglected, I must try harder!)

Can I have some recommndations for places in the UK to buy fabric thats quite retro/vintage for a decent price. I.e. not £10 per metre

Sorry I'm not very vocal, I'm feeling really ill with this cold/ flu. DH has just handed me a beechams bless im, he's putting dh to bed and then I'm going to crawl into bed myself in a mo.

Look at my poor workroom. It's a real ugly duckling at the moment but will be transformed very soon.

I need some storage ...

I hope to at least rifle through my stash tomorrow to get some swap ideas.

GM- I'm closer to nottingham ikea than to buxton I'm afraid... im in Ripley which is basically right between Derby and Nottingham, give or take.. if you dont mind a messy house you are defintly invited although I might not be baking till tommrow morning, Valentine's cupcakes, vanilla and chocolate, with pink buttercream frosting and chocolate hearts on top... there will be spare.. there always are

have made two new bracelets yesterday from some beads I ordered from an etsy shop..

hurrah!!!!

i actually did some crafting
i made dp a valentines card i started after putting ds to bed - had a break for torchwood - and was finished by 11pm

that is unheard of for my - i normally faff about for a week makin a mess of my worktable and generally playing with "stuff" wasting time!!

light's too rubbish for photo's but will try and post one tomorrow

dior- the necklace is really cool.. must have taken ages.. I so haven't got that sort of pacience for that.. well that and I'm very clumsy and left handed to boot .. i bet your friends will love them.

great necklace Dior, can't believe how much concentration that took

I put some more photos of my hearts on my blog not much else to report, not been doing too much crafting...finishing a third scarflet, this time for ME and then going to start a tea cosy on my new needles DH bought me for my birthday...

finally got some pliers so hoping to finish off my mobile for the swap in next few days

my art club starts up next week, so wish me luck!

Wow Dior! That is one impressive necklace.
Is it just purely made up of jump rings?

I'm still waiting for my Bead Addict delivery.
I was really hoping it would arrive today but nothing so far.

Dh has taken the necklace I made last week to work for a colleagues 60th b'day pressie.
More money in the craft kitty

Going ice skating tonight for valentines but dh is still suffering fromhis bad Gout attack so not sure if he'll be able to do it.

I've decided I'm going to craft all day.
Dh came home to get Ethan for his jabs appt and a valentines card he printed on the computer at work.
An hour later he came back in a foul mood and said he had to wait as we hasnt dropped off Ethans registration form at the docs and it was all my fault.

So he sad he wasnt going anywhere tonight cos heisnt in the mood now and to cancel babysitter.

Thats exactly what I've done and his card is now ripped up and in the bin.

So I'm sure a day ignorning him and crafting will cheese him off.

nbg- sorry you are having such a crappy day... I'd send you one of these cupcakes if it wouldn't get squished in the post and be stale..

my dh has been very sweet... no card but he did buy me www.meridianariel.com which opens my etsy shop... very sweet... would have been happy to have a rental movie and chinese.

all i have done is entertain a friend and her dd and made cupcakes.. nice cupcakes though.

jeangenie- good luck with your art club... not that I think you will need it because its a fab idea and you are totally fab yourself.

I was going to do some sketching today but that didn't happen.. I want to do some more "tea" drawings like the one I did of Louise Brooks... tommorow... along with the easter swap things which i have to source a few bits for..
