New Year & a New thread - post what you hope to start/finish this week!

I have bought lots of fabby gemstones & I want to try & make some different types of jewellery, different ways of stringing etc.

DH also bought me some rainbow fluorite & I want to make myself a necklace & bracelet, although am still pondering what style I fancy!

(& my bog is sadly neglected, I must try harder!)

I'm doing another doll in between clearing up vomit and changing nappies.

Hmm, might donate something if I get round to it (am feeling a bit overworked at the mo!)

The blogs are a bit naff, aren't they? No pics or prettiness to them. Think I'll stick to ours (although if we can convince MNtowers to link to real blogs, that'd be a bonus) Besides, we have a webmaster.

JG - pics please, and well done on wool shop consignment (makes it sound posh, doesn't it?)

I have done F-all today, because my friend came round and we looked at fabric on the internet all morning (because we are so exciting like that!). Hopefully I'll get a bit of something done tonight.

doll has ended up with an afro wig.

have done sweet FA all day as ds is having a clingy whinging day... tommorow though must get better then...

NBG - beads arrived -thankyou AND I had another delivery of seed beads that I had ordered so I was when I got home. Trouble is, I have no time to make anything yet.
I'm still knitting my scarf though!

whizzz- I got the firemoutain Gems bead catalog this morning and have been drooling over it all afternoon .. made me think of you all the little seed beads listed

oooo don't taunt me with beady lovlies I am too easily tempted!
I'm going to do some serious beading over half term (DS permitting!) & hopefully get a few more things made.
I have also been sent another letter for stalls at a craft fair end of May, but I'm not sure if it all sounds too professional & scary!

have updated mncrafters blog with paltry blue challenge

and updated my own blog with another little card, all a bit pathetic today am afraid

am off to watch a film with DH and start another scarflet, I love 'em, can't seem to stop making 'em...

jg - they are really great, I'm sure you'll sell them in the wool shop, and swap partner will love it (I would)

NBG, I do like a brown doll (as DD calls them!). I'm doing one today, she's half finished (needs legs sewing on). Well, I was doing it today until DS strung together a sentence for the first time 'mummy, make me a boy'. He's off nursery with a poorly cold and has been amusing himself with my Nan's box of buttons...but has decided I have to make a doll for him now (ever so proud emoticon)

....off she goes to pick fabric with the little ginger one.....

jeangenie-- the hearts are lovely... I'm sure your swap partner will adore them they are really cute..

nbg- the doll looks so sweet, she has such a cute face...

my not so darling DH has given me the job of making round about 40 cards for the studio... simple and all but have to do it by sunday as they are for a hotel thats having a valentines dinner and giving away a portrait sitting from the studio... he will do the insert I just have an assortment of paper and buttons to make hearts and flowers from... not how i planned my crafting time today.....

hmm wonder if this means I can order some beads then if I'm doing this job for the studio

Meridian, i definately think a bead shop is a fair reward for making all those cards

I'm really happy atm. Dh has said i can raid our savings and take out a lump sum to buy beads and stuff for the fair
His only proviso is that i write down everything i spend and i get coming in. A simple accounts book lol.

I hate being sensible and grown up. It sucks

NBG- Spend spend spend... very at that... though I might just order some beads and be damned with the concequences of DH grumbling at me...

gm-- LOL I just might... I have ordered some beads with the last of my paypal money. but i must jsut order some now from a wholesaler and say its my valentines present? .. I have made a bracelet today and listed it.. its possibly for chris who works at the studio with DH... and have started making the cards he wants to put inserts in...

oh no - poor thing! I hope she's ok

town hospital is crap so they have sent her off to derby as they cant tell if her elbow is broken/fractured or not from the x-ray... I just can't believe it wasn't my ds doing something to get hurt... I feel so useless becuse I'm just stuck here runningthe shop for her and I keep waiting to f* something up.. you know? probably me just being a worrier...

I'm sure it is! And even if you do sell a priceless no. 1 issue of Spiderman for a fiver, I think Frizbe would let it slide

gm- LOL I didn't do that badly.. aside from not figuring out how to switch the lights out and spending over ten minutes trying to figure out which keys locked which locks on the door ...her DD is ok just badly bruised not broken so all is well... right I guess I best go make some tea before I settle in front of the tv with cards to make... mutter
