New Year & a New thread - post what you hope to start/finish this week!

I have bought lots of fabby gemstones & I want to try & make some different types of jewellery, different ways of stringing etc.

DH also bought me some rainbow fluorite & I want to make myself a necklace & bracelet, although am still pondering what style I fancy!

(& my bog is sadly neglected, I must try harder!)

OP posts:

Tilly - Etsy seems huge - could it just be that people havent trawled through the shops to find yours? That would be my worry.

I tried looking at the UK shops, and it put me on to the shops that had recently added new stock, then I seemed to lose the way to look at other shops.

I hope you do get some sales though, your stuff is really cute!

GreebosWhiskers · 15/01/2008 22:46

I got my tri-loom!!!!!!!!

Can you tell I'm excited?

Got in at 8:30 tonight to find it waiting for me, got the dcs into bed in the fastest time ever & settled down to have a play try. 2 hours later I have 5 finished triangles & another on the go. It is so easy & very soothing (& much faster than knitting or crochet). Am just trying out different yarns at the mo but have already decided that my first proper project will be to waeve a bag to keep it in.

Am well chuffed

GreebosWhiskers · 15/01/2008 22:49

BTW I've started a thread to see who would be interested in a regular A&C themed swap.

If anyone fancies it please sign up on the thread.

jeangenie · 15/01/2008 22:59

what's a tri-loom when it's at home?

TB - I bet it is the January syndrome - I am not buyng anything other than necessities this month (or next actually!)
also, I do find etsy a bit big and sprawling - I assuem you've checked out how other people with similar stuff are tagging it? I dn't really know if many people sell a lot on there - I guess GM is our expert...

I made a dress for my old rag doll last night - no pattern but the winging it went ok. I need to slightly alter the armholes I think. Then may make her a little cardi or somthing (or maybe not) - I am pleased with how the old dear is coming along

I did rip teh le slouch beret and am reconstructing at the moment, it honestly wouldn't have worked - was bursting at the seams with my enourmous noggin

I have now signed up for 3, yes 3! swaps. Someone stop me, please, I am getting totally addicted to blogging (well, reading other peoples anyway) - does this symptom wear off or is it terminal?

lucykate · 15/01/2008 23:09

jg, it's terminal i'm afraid , blogging that is, once you are in the vortex there's no way out

forgot to mention, i've joined a group blog site just for plush/softie makers called the needle

GreebosWhiskers · 15/01/2008 23:45

jeangenie - this is a tri-loom.

'tis great fun

meridian · 16/01/2008 09:01

Meridian - your jewellery is lovely. I don't have any adult birthday's until May so I'll be in touch then. If I'm allowed to treat myself, it'll be before .
I'm allergic to nickel and can only wear silver so how does that fit in with your designs ?

I've just finished a new 'Hugglie' but want to get dd in bed before I take some photo's.

I'm really pleased with it but would appreciate some other views

Gingermonkey · 16/01/2008 21:06

TB - pics for you!!!! Meridian, I'm really pleased he arrived in one piece and you're happy with him. I pinched the pic of my bracelet from your blog and put it on my blog and linked to you (so you never know, you might get an order!)
I have been so good today and have only been near the computer when I was having my lunch, I've been working on some new designs I drew up over the past few weeks so I can show them when they are finished, made a doorstop frog for Leo (to stop him nicking Grace's) and one for an order too. I finished my creation for the valentine's swap, and DH went to the farm shop on the way home and bought a Victoria sponge and a big chocolate cake, so I had a piece of each for my dinner, and am going to sit down now and have some more for my supper, lol!!!
The teapot is calling me....speak to you tomorrow!!!!

jeangenie · 16/01/2008 21:48

GM, you are my kinda girl with all that cake for dinner - enjoy your supper (am dead - I was made to eat pasta. They don't let you have cake for tea in my house, meanies!)
off to oogle that pug now

Tillyboo · 16/01/2008 21:57

I've finished my new 'Huggly', he's lurking here if anyone wants a peep

GM - Aw, wish you hadn't mentioned cake ! I want some but have only got a tiny incey wincy smartie cake and that's Tillys for tomorrow so I daren't eat it.
I'd be in BIG trouble

jeangenie · 16/01/2008 23:02

have posted messages on blogs, great work ladies

I finished (finally) my dollie last night and have just blogged her here - just noticed she is still in need of an eyebrow tidy, but she does look much better than before I think
