I don't know what's going on but this is the third post I've tried. If this fails I'm going to give up.

Anyway, I can't seem to find the old thread for some reason, my laptop is doing funny things so maybe it's at my end?

Anyway, I cannot see what you all have achieved so far this week but here is my blog with what I have done or you can have a peep in my profile but the pictures are quite diddy

jeangenie · 02/11/2007 07:47

started the broken dollies leg in a nice red silk, but am now thinking I might bring her a little bit more up to date and give her stripey socks - would it be sacriligious to change her?

Gingermonkey · 02/11/2007 08:03

I think she must be - either that or she has gone mad!!!!
Well done champs for getting back on the craft horse so soon!!!!

Gingermonkey · 02/11/2007 08:04

JG, I think stripey socks would be great (I forgot to add that, dozy mare!)

rantinghousewife · 02/11/2007 12:03

Well you are all busy, busy, (love the tea cosy jg). I'm finishing my knit tanks and crocheted a couple of beanies. On a mission to use up some of my stash, so am crocheting a granny square bag with some left over aran and plodding on with the ribbing and seaming for my tanks.
Then I might start on my fabric stash and make some dresses.

lucykate · 02/11/2007 14:02

am still working on more cushions, tbh we are having a really lazy week with it still being half term here, at least ds is better.

have blogged some stuff and linked to whizzz/bella's tour of cornwall too

WhizzzBangWhizzz · 02/11/2007 15:19

I am loving your stuff Lucykate
I must add something craft related to my blog soon !

dizzyday07 · 02/11/2007 15:40

I get so demoralised when I come on here as all your stuff is so "creative" - I love those cushions Lucy - I just wish I could be more imaginative

Gingermonkey · 02/11/2007 17:10

Don't get demoralised Dizzy, I got my machine out today, it got all puckered and jammed, so I swore at it and put it back into the cupboard - WHERE IT BELONGS!!!! I then had to cheer myself up by making 2 nice hand sewn (calming) horses. I get very of people that use the sewing machine, I just get all nervous and afraid of it (I am so pathetic!) My new year's resolution is to overcome my sewing machine fear.

Dingle · 03/11/2007 06:57

Dizzy..I think a lot of crafters are their own worst critics. I know I get this picture in my head of what I what to do but the final product often turns out completely different because I have had to adapt the design several times- either because things don't work or my original idea was completely pants!!
Take the inspiration and encouragement on here and go craft!!

Dingle · 03/11/2007 07:03

So how are you doing? I have been awake most of the night full of flu and we have workmen around today laying the bathroom floor!

Going to update my list for this week to keep me on track..well perhaps it won't.
1 possibly 2 Birthday Club cards DONE
Birthday card for DD DONE
Birthday card for SIL X
at least 2 Xmas cards made.1
more knitting ongoing
Paint walls in dining room X

Might actually change our minds about the dining room, might prioritise DS's room instead!!! Sooo much decorating and organising to do!!

Gingermonkey · 03/11/2007 07:39

Morning! I had a lovely sleep, and didn't hear the babymonkey shouting for me for the third morning running (which means DH had to get him, again!!!hahahaha!)
My new list this week is (so far)

:: 3 x pink horses - 2 Done
:: Finish baby vests
:: possibly do 7 dinos (5 for an order - but I'm hoping she says she doesn't want them just yet, because I am having a panic about being too busy!)
:: some bags for the lavender mice that didn't sell last craft fair - methinking, package them up in a little tie top bag, they may sell as a set? (well, I'd buy them )

lucykate · 03/11/2007 11:05

well, i was all set for a bit of sewing last night, but started to feel a bit queasy, went to bed for a bit but have spent most of the night with my new best friend - the sick bowl i feel like crap, and need a bath

supposed to be going next door for a bonfire party this evening for which i need to bake a cake, not sure if i've got the stomach for any cooking/eating today.

ds was sick too, i have shared my sick bowl with a 2 year old, he held my hair back (sorry tmi)

WhizzzBangWhizzz · 03/11/2007 11:37

Poor you I hope you feel better soon - I always seem to manage to be ill when I have nice places to go too

I have managed to produce something as the postie delivered some scrummy silver things this morning and I have blogged !
Look! see what you think. It's not really 'crafting' but I like it

Dingle · 03/11/2007 17:49

Managed to make 3 Xmas cards today- you can see them here ,varnish our bedroom door and seal the shower tray and bath. Now I am off for a lemsip and some knitting!!!

Hope you feel better soon, I hate feeling sick, reminds me of the weeks on end of "morning" sickness, the dehydration and the hospital!!

Tillyboo · 03/11/2007 22:37

Ooh noooo ...... Everyone is being so productive, I feel positively hopeless.

I'm having BIG trouble deciding on what to make for the first of my fayres.. More horses ?, more hugglies ?, more dogs ?, more bunnies ? or something completely new.

Agh ... my head is all of a befuddle. I've made a couple of keyrings and made a start on an Eskimo Doll thingy so far for this week but lots more gardening to be done so not sure when I will finish. If hubby does 'child watch' tomorrow for a couple of hours I may get on.

Tilly, life will always get in the way of crafting- that's what makes our crafty time so relaxing and special sometimes!!
We have rooms to paint, furniture to move and to be honest a complete re-organisation of the house as the extension nears its end. BUT I am taking a bit of time out for ME this weekend- I am full of flu and I need a break from "the house."
When I am feeling a bit unsure of what to do, I tend to stick to a design I have done before rather than spend hours playing with ideas that don't always pay off- once I feel I have been a bit more productive...then play!!
Hope you get some crafty time!

Tillyboo · 04/11/2007 10:04

Ah thanks Dingle, I feel much better now. We are going to IKEA this morning so I'm sure I'll be raring to go when we get back.

Hope you are soon feeling much better & enjoy your 'Me' time.

OP posts:
lucykate · 04/11/2007 11:43

oooh tilly, lucky you, love trips to ikea. our nearest are nottingham or milton keynes, both of which are a long drive away. we used to live 20 mins from the warrington one, i miss being that close.

i get frustrated about craft time, essentially i am a sahm atm, so really, the dc's must come first, crafting second, dh and everything else last! . but recently, craft time has been so limited and any time i do get has to be spent making christmas presents, i don't earn any money so the best thing i can contribute towards christmas is to make something. although, i even have my doubts about doing that sometimes. i made some presents last year and had a rather horrible comment from a close family member that really upset me, i guess some people know the cost of everything but the value of very little.

Tillyboo · 04/11/2007 17:45

Lucykate - How on earth could anyone make a horrid comment about your talents ? You make the most gorgeous stuff !
How bizarre, I can't imagine what could have been said.
Ignore, they obviously didn't know what they were saying or maybe they'd had too much eggnog ?

Ikea was heaving as usual & to be honest I was a tad disappointed. I did manage to get some lovely fabric storage boxes and battery twinkly lights like GM's.
We also got a brilliant big leaf canopy thingy for dd, we are going to attach it to the wall in the garden next to her playhouse as a place of shade.

It's probably best to go without children so that you can have a really good mooch about.

Lucykate, that someone could dismiss your crafting, I was telling my mum today how clever you were and showing her your blog (showed her a few others too and she thought you were all very talented). I love your blog, it's very civilised in a 1940s tea dress way and that's what I love about it.
