I don't know what's going on but this is the third post I've tried. If this fails I'm going to give up.

Anyway, I can't seem to find the old thread for some reason, my laptop is doing funny things so maybe it's at my end?

Anyway, I cannot see what you all have achieved so far this week but here is my blog with what I have done or you can have a peep in my profile but the pictures are quite diddy

finally, I've made something...
a little birdie for tree
am hoping to keep doing some more small things like this to recapture lost mojo
hallelujah! I feel like singing...

Meridian · 21/11/2007 10:46

jeangenie- very cute little birdie. I have crashed and burned abit on getting stuff done, and just realized how close chrismas is looming.

Gingermonkey · 21/11/2007 12:05

well, I spent yesterday being sick...again. DH is starting to think either there's something actually wrong with me or I'm PG...but I can't quite bring myself to do a test (we really can't afford another baby right now....much as I'd love one), so I'll just carry on with my head in the sand and pretending I'm fine!
DS is still a bit poorly, but he's gone off to nursery today to give his germs to the other kids, and I can have a bit of peace and quiet!

LK - I'd love to do a FQ swap, so sign me up!

Jeangenie - lovely little birdy, those beads at the bottom of his legs are gorgeous.

Right, I'd better get on with some work!

lucykate · 21/11/2007 12:15

i'm not going to get anything done today, ds is off nursery poorly and am off out tonight with the girls on a christmas shopping trip.

he's asleep atm, but don't know how long that will last, i can here him coughing.

gm - hope you are feeling less sick today

Tillyboo · 21/11/2007 15:46

Jeangenie - love the birdy, especially his feet !

I haven't got a great deal done this week so far, considering my giant bunny order. I have another 3 to stitch and stuff this evening so it's pretty slow going. Hopefully dd will be well enough for pre-school tomorrow in which case I'll maybe get another 3 ready to stitch and stuff

My next fayre is not til the 8th Dec so I want to get the whole warren done well before then so I can make a few more bits for the stall.

GM - do your boobs hurt ? that was my first tell tale sign that I was up the duff (so to speak). My sil complained of hurty boobs too and sure as sure she was preggy too.

Oooooohhhhhhhhhh, take a test, go on be brave !

OP posts:
jeangenie · 21/11/2007 18:06

thanks guys - that birdie was a long time acoming!

GM - that is very exciting possible news - go on find out and tell us if there is another WIP in the offing

TillyB - 22 bunnies! wow. They are lovely

Lucykate - when are you putting us out of our misery about that little owl (called Bill!)?

doubt i wll get much done tonight between my pilates class at 7 and the footie at 8. Another few rows of MsMcC's stocking...

Gingermonkey · 21/11/2007 18:07

TB, my boobs are so small non-existent they never hurt with the other 2 (can you believe it is impossible to buy a nursing bra in an A cup?! I was ). I also have just finished my period....but then again I was 15 weeks PG (and 3 periods gone) before I realised I was PG with DS. My tell tale sign is back fat over the top of my jeans....I might ask my friend, it was her that pointed it out last time (just squeezing it now, it does feel a bit bigger than usual...tho that might be the cakes)

'course I could just buy a test, but that'd be too easy (I love the suspense, and if I am PG I'll start acting like I'm 9mths gone and huff and puff all the time!)

I haven't a clue what my challenge was this week as I've been completely thrown this week but ....
The bunnies are back in town ...

OP posts:
Meridian · 22/11/2007 10:43

This week i have knitted about five rows on a scarf and sketched a bit in a sketch book. TOday ds is home and we are supposed to have a play date, then tonight is dinner out at a friends and I need to make a pudding of some sort, probably a cheesecake, lemon or mandarin as i have both, or possibly lemongrass... tommrow I have to go to the studio so my MIL and I can sort out some sort of last minute x-mas display as its been completly forgotten about with DH's migraine last week. I might try to squeeze in some painting time friday night.

Dingle · 22/11/2007 12:00

Been popping in every now and then trying to keep up with you all but failing miserably!

I am plodding along and getting...well nowhere it seems!!

*Just fininshed knitting my 4th teddy this week and I am up to date.

  • Got myself on a Design team and I am eagerly awaiting some goodies to play with!
  • Got a few card orders!!
  • "whispers"...I bucked up the courage to take 10 sample Xmas cards into DS's school to help fundraising..going back tomorrow to see if I have had any response!! So nervous and apprehensive!
  • Almost got the DownSyndrome Paperwork up to date but now I need to play on the PC and set up a template for our official charity cards! *Still trying to get rid of the plaster dust but seem to be failing. I didn't manage to paint the dining room or DS's new bedroom but I have painted our new and much awaited for downstairs WC...It is SOOO lovely not having to get DD up and down the stairs all the time!!

So this week's aims:

  • Make 8 xmas cards (orders)
  • Finish 60th Birthday card
  • Start a Baby Memory Keepsake Book
  • Cut some Xmas die cuts for a friend's school xmas bazaar and hopefully some more for me too! *Start making those Xmas pressies!!! *Find another 24 hours in each of my days!!

You lot are making me feel embarrassed, I've managed to block and seam ONE tank top, yes one since I posted here that I would finish the lot.
I have however, since wearing my crochet beanie to the school been inundated with requests to make loads of the blardy things and have made about 10 of them for other people. I now have crocheters cramp!

I've managed to make some cards at last and also stamped and coloured some yummie stamps ready to be made into cards.

gonna colour some more now i think, while bubble is having a sleep.

Nbg · 23/11/2007 08:32

Oooh wow you've all been busy.

I must say, I'm very impressed Tillyboo at all your bunnies.

I havent been able to do anything really. Not even the bag challenge.
The order I got the other day for a bracelet I have started on but typically run out of beads so need to order more today and hope that they get delivered and I can finish it off before baby due date on weds next week

I have been painting and decorating too. So I guess I havent been totally lazy, lol.

rantinghousewife · 23/11/2007 09:44

Tillyboo lol, yes have been known to suffer that as well!

Meridian · 23/11/2007 09:57

erm I have made a mandarin cheesecake, and soem banana coconut muffins! erm they looked rather pretty!

going to try to paint a canvas or finish the scarf I have been knitting but i think the scarf needs a few beads or something to add to it but not overwhelme it so i'm not sure yet. and still not figured out what to draw to design a t-shirt for my dad for x-mas... tick tock tick tock

Meridian · 23/11/2007 10:06

I have just noticed the last three posts on my blog are all cooking ones. cookies, muffins and cakes, and not a craft or art among them,.. oh the shame...

champs · 23/11/2007 14:01

ahhh but meridian, cooking and baking IS a craft!!

Dingle · 23/11/2007 16:56

I totally agree, cooking is creating something yummy!!

Gingermonkey · 24/11/2007 19:02

Meridian, it's a craft I can't quite do (cooking, yes - that's fine but baking? Oh no - disaster!!!)

My craft fair/ posh school christmas fair was quite awful today - £45 total. The woman on the stall next to me was selling the most awful homemade bags, out of old clothes and really cheap. She did brilliantly (but she kept wandering about with them draped off her - very, very strange, my friend was weeing herself at her.) And guess what? Yep, I forgot my bloody camera - AGAIN. I am just going to give up with photos, it's not happening at all!!!
I have been quite busy this week so I'll eventually get some pics and put them on the blog, which has been a bit neglected.
Only 3 more fairs to go this year, and to be honest, I can't wait now, I am feeling a little disheartened by it all. Today I trekked over to Bradford (which is only about 20 miles, but a pain in the bum to get to), got lost on the way, got lost on the way home, got up at the crack of dawn and sat there all day doing not much at all. There was a woman who was interested in wholesale though, so that might be a good thing, and I have been asked to go into a shop next week with my wares (I am dreading it - I am such a terrible saleswoman, I'll go red and sweaty and just squeak at the shop man). He wants lavender bags etc. I made some bunting, so I'll take that too as I think he might like the look of it.
Found a lovely site for bits and bobs haberdashery wise for you sewing types....
here

thank you Frau, that does make me smiley - I like to pass the etsy bug on (that site is addictive tho, so be careful!)

Now I am home, have had a cup of tea, a packet of riesen chocolate chews (I am addicted) and a beechams (doesn't help the sicky bug has been replaced by the worst cold I have ever had) I am much happier. I also bought some bias binding to make some more bunting for DD's friends for chrimbo, and had a little stroke of some mini boden fabric I bought at the Knitting and Stitching show yesterday. Oh, that's a point...
LK - you were asking about mini boden fabric a while ago, well, there's a place in London that sells it. They don't have a website for ordering but you can phone them (and the man at the knitting and stitching show was really nice and really helpful). this is their website...but no shopping cart

lucykate · 24/11/2007 21:47

gm, have just had a look at their web site, love their motto - champagne fabrics at lemonade prices! lol
