I don't know what's going on but this is the third post I've tried. If this fails I'm going to give up.

Anyway, I can't seem to find the old thread for some reason, my laptop is doing funny things so maybe it's at my end?

Anyway, I cannot see what you all have achieved so far this week but here is my blog with what I have done or you can have a peep in my profile but the pictures are quite diddy

ah - all is clear now!!!, dizzy!
I would probably use black buttons sewn onto felt, and then attached to the main body with a fusible web for the eyes and then lightly stitched on for extra strength. Or use small black felt circles, on bigger white ones if it's for a little one and you don't want choking risks. What do you think?

dizzyday07 · 06/11/2007 23:20

GM - I did think about felt - would wonderweb do the trick (fusing wise) as I have some here?

GreebosWhiskersIsCherryRed73 · 07/11/2007 09:27

A little advice here please ladies

I'd like to start selling my stuff but haven't a clue about prices - can anyone give me an idea of what they'd pay for the doll, belts, hairbands, corsages & bags (I have Christmas ones in the pipeline)?

Ta very muchly

GM have emailed you

lucykate · 07/11/2007 11:18

prices are so difficult to guess, if i were you gw, go to ebay and etsy and do some searches for work similar to yours, make a note of how much others are charging and work out an average price. you will then need to work out your own costs, ie, materials, time taken to make etc, from that you will know if it is a viable product to sell. it can be heartbreaking to try and sell something that has taken days or weeks to produce, knowing the top price you can ask for it is £10

there is some lovely stuff on etsy, but unless priced competitively imo, things can just sit there unsold

Gingermonkey · 07/11/2007 11:24

dizzy - yes, wonderweb would def do the trick!!!
I agree with LK, GW - have a look about and see what else there is and go from there. I've quickly emailed you back, but will email you back properly in a bit

Dingle · 07/11/2007 11:42

Wow..GM you have done well!!

I have been working on another challenge today, needed to make 3 xmas cards using the same embellie or stamp 3 times. I have had soo much fun, but onbly managed to make 2 so far!!

dizzyday07 · 07/11/2007 15:09

GM - found that I have enough of the blue gingham for both your cushions. Do you want then both in blue or one yellow?

Gingermonkey · 07/11/2007 15:16

If you have enough blue, I'll have them both in blue, thanks Dizzy.

I bought DD's christmas present today - tickets to see strictly come dancing live!!! Her and her friend are obsessed by it, so I spoke to my friend and asked if she fancied going (obviously a big yes!). I can't wait to see her face on christmas morning!!! I know that's not remotely crafty, but I was very excited by it!!!

www.imagingermonkey.blogspot.com there's the addy for you, dingle.
Photos of this weeks things are now uploaded here

GreebosWhiskersIsCherryRed73 · 07/11/2007 16:42

Definite for this week is a softie for Rowan's first birthday (I can't believe my wee man will be a year old on Saturday!).

I also want to do

4 corsages
2 hairbands
1 belt
2 hairclips

My blog addy is www.woolly-knit-bits.blogspot.com (a bit of a misnomer since it's got more crochet on it than anything else but still . . .)

WhizzzBangWhizzz · 07/11/2007 16:45

My update

I will have a go at crochet but need a hook
I have some lovely ocean jasper beads that I want to play with - I keep taking them out & stroking them
I need to make a charm bracelet for a MNer but I'm just waiting for some crystals to arrive - still waiting for crystals, although I now have the charms
I will approach DSs school re a stall at the Xmas Fair in Dec - done, awaiting reply

Also I have a necklace kit for a seed beady necklace that I want to start

lucykate · 07/11/2007 16:54

i can't remember what i said i'd do last week , so here goes with a new list for the week ahead

finish cushion with pocket
make mini owl to go in cushion pocket
make one of the toy bag/play mats with pirate theme

last week, i did manage an owl which i've blogged

lucykatecrafts.blogspot.com

i've also nominated some blogs for a 'smile award', i could have easily named about 50 blogs, including all you guys! but did just 5, but can i please give everyone here a special award!.

i hereby nominate everyone involved in the weekly challenge thread, especially whip cracker dingle, for the 'mumsnet, you make me pull my finger out and do something creative and not just slob an the sofa every night watching telly and eating chocolate' award

GreebosWhiskersIsCherryRed73 · 07/11/2007 16:55

You could have a go at crocheting with wire Whizzz. I've got some cheap wire sitting waiting for me to have a proper go as I gave it a quick try & it looks like it's going to be a b*gger to do but very effective.

WhizzzBangWhizzz · 07/11/2007 16:56

yes I've seen that done - just need a hook though. I'm dreadful in that I always want to have a go at EVERYTHING, but always seem to manage to do very little

LOL...." hereby nominate everyone involved in the weekly challenge thread, especially whip cracker dingle, for the 'mumsnet, you make me pull my finger out and do something creative and not just slob an the sofa every night watching telly and eating chocolate' award"

BUT Lucykate....I slob on the sofa, eating chocolate while I craft...

Gingermonkey · 07/11/2007 19:09

and me!!!

rantinghousewife · 07/11/2007 19:48

This week, I will.... block and seam my tanks, finish my granny square crochet bag (must get sewing machine out when pulled muscle better) and get inspiration for some more projects. And if I manage even a quarter of that, I might treat myself to a bar of choc and a glass of wine

lucykate · 07/11/2007 23:32

rhw - 'block and seam my tanks' , is that crafting or fish keeping?

gm - where do you get your mini boden cord fabric, or have you been chopping up your dd's trousers??

Gingermonkey · 08/11/2007 00:18

LK - the super duper wonderful ebay, of course!!!! There's a seller that has some on at the minute, she obviously has a stash and keeps drip feeding me, lol!!! I really want to see her sewing cupboard, I think it would make me cry! Also, LK, this place sells oilily type (I think they are oilily reprints) needlecord. I have some of this too (Amelie the Emu's fabric was from there)

Gingermonkey · 08/11/2007 00:20
