I have been a poster here for seven years, my first post was asking for help after a DX on DS1 regarding medication, I was overwhelmed by the amount of people who took the time to respond and give advice and share stories.
I remember there being a lot of jokes and support, one poster who lost family in 9/11 was an inspiration and at any time day or night there was someone about for a chat, it made night feed more fun.

Yes there were times when people "fell out" this is life, and the odd nut job who tried to convince people that 4 times the amount of calpol was safe but on the whole it was a nice place to be, however just lately (mostly since AIBU was added) it seems people are getting really nasty.

No longer can you have a good debate with out the usual stupidness and name calling, if you question immigration there is no debate you just get called racist, people with problems get called troll, the term Jog on is used daily as is daily mail reader, and I ask myself when did this site become a playground with the childish name calling, where are all the grown up, funny, articulate women who you could have a grown up discussions with.

It is so boring seeing the same old faces spouting the same old crap lines.

I guess someone will say if I don't like it leave, and I just might do that as mumsnet is not the place it was

come to Mimisita's cantina for some pork and beans....

rey · 23/03/2010 19:19

I've been here since the early days and yes it has changed a lot. I have to be more selective now and often it's more letting off steam than seekers of real mums help/advice that said it is still worth turning to if you need help/advice I think anyway. Also it could be because my lil ones are so much older now.

Hullygully · 23/03/2010 19:20

Well howdy ma'am, I hear tell you done got some sausage that near about equals my own.

Hullygully · 23/03/2010 19:21

Yee haa

daftpunk · 23/03/2010 19:23

Wow...very nice...

MadameDefarge · 23/03/2010 19:23

Ringlets are not the only implausible things around here

Hullygully · 23/03/2010 19:25

That is both puzzling, alarming and strangely alarming.

Hullygully · 23/03/2010 19:25

One of the alarmings should have been arousing.

daftpunk · 23/03/2010 19:25

Y'know MD..I actually imagine you looking like that....

MadameDefarge · 23/03/2010 19:34

And you'd be so right, DP, so right...

MadameDefarge · 23/03/2010 19:35

how I miss the big top

pagwatch · 23/03/2010 19:47

I am sure Madame looks like that too. Should you be so unwise as to disagree with her she poke you with her implausiably pointy breasts.

I suspect she does not even use her fingers to type [taps side of nose and winks in bawdy manner]

Hully on the other hand looks like this so I just nod at everything Hully says

pagwatch · 23/03/2010 19:47

Ginalollabrigida, thats impressive!

tethersend · 23/03/2010 19:48

Ladies- is Gibbon ok? She posted that she was having a terrible time and it worried me a bit...

AnyFucker · 23/03/2010 19:51

tethers...there is a thread in chat, but I don't think she has answered it

pagwatch · 23/03/2010 19:51

tethers

I think she is a bit dragged down by life just now but she is bumptastic and being very brave and generally lovely.
she is around a bit but busy...

MadameDefarge · 23/03/2010 19:51

God, I'm versatile!

mamazon · 23/03/2010 19:54

only read the OP. I agree with you entirely.

and the rush for posters to jump in with "off you fuck then" or whatever sums it all up entirely.

electrofagz · 23/03/2010 19:56

I have just rejoined the thread.

Emigrant - I am so sorry to hear about the bloody awful stuff you have had to live through. I am proud to be a Londoner as by and large, most of my neighbours and friends are tolerant, enlightened individuals who would be prepared to listen to your tale and learn from it.

My DS attends a state school where 44 languages are spoken and every week is themed around a different culture. Some children are refugees, others are travellers, over half speak a different language at home. It is really wonderful to see how children play together without considering how British they are in relation to others.

Hullygully · 23/03/2010 20:22

I'm not entirely sure what I am

MadameDefarge · 23/03/2010 20:23

Your a nice girl having a nap after an aerobics workout.

tethersend · 23/03/2010 20:23

Thanks AF and pag

Hullygully · 23/03/2010 20:24

I thought I might have a penis, or is it a trick of the light?

What ho, Tethers.

MadameDefarge · 23/03/2010 20:28
