I have been a poster here for seven years, my first post was asking for help after a DX on DS1 regarding medication, I was overwhelmed by the amount of people who took the time to respond and give advice and share stories.
I remember there being a lot of jokes and support, one poster who lost family in 9/11 was an inspiration and at any time day or night there was someone about for a chat, it made night feed more fun.

Yes there were times when people "fell out" this is life, and the odd nut job who tried to convince people that 4 times the amount of calpol was safe but on the whole it was a nice place to be, however just lately (mostly since AIBU was added) it seems people are getting really nasty.

No longer can you have a good debate with out the usual stupidness and name calling, if you question immigration there is no debate you just get called racist, people with problems get called troll, the term Jog on is used daily as is daily mail reader, and I ask myself when did this site become a playground with the childish name calling, where are all the grown up, funny, articulate women who you could have a grown up discussions with.

It is so boring seeing the same old faces spouting the same old crap lines.

I guess someone will say if I don't like it leave, and I just might do that as mumsnet is not the place it was

Well, I for one think it a tad convenient that Electro disappears and emigrant appears....

And you have namechanged, that is a low, mean use of real people's experiences to make a point.

Whoever you are, of course you would be entitled to object if a poster wanted to ban you from MN, But Daft did not. Only banning mooted round here was Electro.

Emigrant · 23/03/2010 17:12

You have seen a war daftpunk?

daftpunk · 23/03/2010 17:12

MD...what the hell is going on...?

Emigrant · 23/03/2010 17:12

I am not electro

Emigrant · 23/03/2010 17:13

We moved hear because people wanted to shot my father

Emigrant · 23/03/2010 17:14

Why do you hate people like me?

MadameDefarge · 23/03/2010 17:15

Emigrant, you need to understand that if your very first post on MN is directed at one particular poster on a subject which has nothing to do with the thread, then people will be suspicious.

I suggest you start a thread on immigration as the result of war elsewhere where I am sure lots of people would be interested to have their say on this very pertinant topic.

Emigrant · 23/03/2010 17:17

On this thread, it says daftpunk is BMP.

Emigrant · 23/03/2010 17:18

She is not?

daftpunk · 23/03/2010 17:18

So you joined MN today just to talk to me...?

Hullygully · 23/03/2010 17:19

Hah!

Who needs shooting today?

Emigrant · 23/03/2010 17:19

No I have been here a year.I have talked to you befor. You did not know I was one of the people you would not talk to in real life.

daftpunk · 23/03/2010 17:21

What was your other name?..I'll probably remember you...

Emigrant · 23/03/2010 17:23

But you hate people like me I am scared to tell you much about my self.Someone I know was betten by a BNP person.

Hullygully · 23/03/2010 17:23

I have just read a little further up the thread and realise that my post was perhaps a tad insenstive and unfortunate a la Bran sandwich givne the circs.

BridesheadRegardless · 23/03/2010 17:26

Emigrant your appearance seems suspicious I'm afraid, if you really want to have this debate start a thread, daftpunk can choose weter to comment, you can't follow her forcing to debate with you.

calling for Dp to be banned is very wrong. Do we really want to create a homogenous liberal MN where people whose viewpoints we despise is not to be aired?

it's actaully good DP is here as views similiar to hers are out there, mainstream, we shouldn't pretend they're not and hide away from them because it upsets us.

Also those complaining that she gives the BNP (if she is a member I don't know) a platform should stop bringing it up on irrelevent threads, you are the ones giving her/them publicity.

If yoyu can't bear to enage with her, avoid her, if you wnat to challenge her on these issues do so on relevant threads.

Emigrant · 23/03/2010 17:29

I believe in free speech, that is why we are here.

Emigrant · 23/03/2010 17:30

And I would defend her right to it to my death.

Emigrant · 23/03/2010 17:31

Everything I have written is true.

BridesheadRegardless · 23/03/2010 17:32

Right...well goodo...glad we've established that then.

Emigrant · 23/03/2010 17:33

Will she defend mine?

Emigrant · 23/03/2010 17:34

Would she stop me from saying my famly and my self have a right to be safe, and to be here?

2shoes · 23/03/2010 17:36

no mn hasn't changed, people still change names to have apop at daftpunk.
it you want to do that at least have the guts to use your own name

mehdismummy · 23/03/2010 17:37

emigrant i hope you are telling the truth as otherwise you are one sick fuckwit.
as for all slating daftpunk as much as i dont agree with what she says, i respect the fact she does say them and i feel she has the right to have those opinions, there was a poster called monkeytrousers here before and i disagreed with her on lots but she also was very interesting to debate with, and her dc was gorgeous x

MadameDefarge · 23/03/2010 17:38

Happily, Emigrant, we do live in a country where we can say what we like (within reason and the law), and we can also say what we like on here.

So its a bit of a moot point whether one particular poster wants to ban anyone for their status or their political views. It ain't going to happen.

Again, if you want to discuss these issues, why not start a thread?
