To sleep in the garden tonight

My beautiful dog is going to be put down tomorrow. Shes in pain and the cool air and grown outside seems to offer some relief. She doesnt like to be alone. So I'm thinking about just sleeping in the garden to join her. But im aware that for one I'm grieving and thats clouding my judgement and for two I don't have the most clear judgement anyway.

I should add I'm a scout leader so I'm not afraid of the elements. Its dry and pretty temperate here tonight and I have a lovely double sleeping bag to cosy up in.

I’m so sorry. I slept in my horses stable on the last night, well more watching him and drinking in every last minute but it brought me and him comfort

Spend every second you can with her -she will go to the rainbow bridge knowing how loved she is.
Tell her to look for a fat Labrador called Coco who will show her the way to the sausage tree.

Absolutely do it, she’ll know you’re close, you wouldn’t sleep in your bed anyway. When I knew our lovely elderly cat needed to be pts I slept beside him on the sofa which also meant I could dispense more painkillers when he got restless (he was on a cushion between the sofa and a cupboard) I hope it brought him some comfort (our vets let him down so there was a delay in being pts 😡).
So sad for you.

Last year I had to have my beloved cat PTS and can still remember vividly the last few days of his life when I tried to give him all the love & comfort I could.

So yes, do it. You will remember it always.

Definitely do it, you’ll regret it if you don’t. What a special last night you’re giving your baby. Will be thinking of you tomorrow. It’s the hardest thing to do but also the kindest. 💐

Please do whatever you can do safely to be with your beloved dog in her last hours to give you both comfort.
Sounds like ideal camping conditions to be honest and it is likely something you will regret not doing more than if you dont.

Do it. It sounds a beautiful way to spend this time with her. With my mum whenever we catch ourselves looking at the night sky and admiring the stars we always note the brightest few and say “oh, that’s (name of our dogs that have now passed on) up there”, and just take a moment to think of them. Your plan this evening made me think of them like this. Be sure to let her help choose her star this evening. Sending all the strength for tomorrow and all our beloved pets will be there to give a gentle high five paw and lick I’m sure 💫
