To sleep in the garden tonight

My beautiful dog is going to be put down tomorrow. Shes in pain and the cool air and grown outside seems to offer some relief. She doesnt like to be alone. So I'm thinking about just sleeping in the garden to join her. But im aware that for one I'm grieving and thats clouding my judgement and for two I don't have the most clear judgement anyway.

I should add I'm a scout leader so I'm not afraid of the elements. Its dry and pretty temperate here tonight and I have a lovely double sleeping bag to cosy up in.

Do it - my sister recently slept in the garden in just a sleeping bag with our very old family dog who is most certainly deaf and was refusing to come into the house. Her remaining time with us is limited and my sister’s view was she’ll do whatever that doggy wants for as long as we still have her 🤍

Do it, we all slept in the living room with our dcat the night before he died. His decline was very sudden and he didn't have the energy to get upstairs. I'm so sorry. She's so lucky to have you x

I would sleep outside with her, no doubts at all.

My partner slept on the kitchen floor with our lovely dog, on the dog's final night a few years ago. Coupled with a LOT of trips to the garden as the poor dog was SO thirsty (caused by his illness) and kept needing the garden to do his business. None of us got any sleep. I was upstairs with our other dog, but didn't sleep one bit.

Do it! The night before my childhood dog was put to sleep, I slept on the sofa with her. If she'd wanted to be outside, I'd have slept outside with her too. Don't have regrets.

I slept downstairs on the floor beside mine when we found out he was stage 4 aggressive cancer that didnt show itself. I done that for a week before we sent him.to sleep. Id never have forgiven myself if I found him gone and alone

Do it. I'm so sorry OP. She is a beautiful girl and no doubt gave you so much love and memories over the years. Sending you my love & sympathies. I had to let my old boy go in 2019. It broke my heart but he was riddled with arthritis and I couldnt bare the thought of him in pain. 🫶🏻🌈
