AIBU to put out my autumn decorations now?

I think I’ll put out my autumn decorations! Has anyone put there’s out yet (for those of you that do!) I’m late I know but I just didn’t feel autumny until this weekend 🤣

Yes we switch a large rug, cushions and a lampshade over, amongst other things. We've had these items for a decade. I also have different bedding which is warmer, so there are practical reasons too.

Autumn bedding?? That's something I've never heard of before.

We did ours on Saturday. Lights, lanterns, blankets, cushions, duvet covers, garlands, wreaths, doormats, lots of ornaments. Autumn is my favourite season and we have decorated for it since we bought our first house 25 years ago.

Burnt orange cushions sound nice, I love that colour.

Ugh. Do people not burst into hysterical laughter when they come to your house?

I can see that a natural door wreath in Autumnal colours and themes might be nice.

But, the rest of it is not my thing, abd I’ve never seen anything like that around here.

Give it another week, let us hold on to the last week hoping it resembles the summer.
I personally don’t bother with autumn decorations but the do like to see houses decorated, so many people are gone sloppy, it’s nice to see a bit of cheer.

That was a low blow to you, it is also a lesson in punching down, jeering others as cheap and tacky because they shop in a budget store. Ugh, poverty.

The annual concert series at the Albert hall in London that’s been going for over 120’years. Several each year are televised including always the last night - with the traditional favourites, it’s on iPlayer and was particularly good this year, even included a tribute to Dolly Parton

We decorate for Autumn every year with lights, wreaths and lots of things themed with acorns, pine cones and pumpkins. It makes the house feel cosy and cheers us all up as the dark nights start. We have a Halloween party every year so decorate more when that comes around.

Very much in the UK and loving it. I'm almost ready to put out an autumnal quilt that I made nearly 30 years ago and I'm working on another at the moment.

You’ve got to pity them. Unhappiness with their weight is probably a big reason why they act like this online. The fact that they can’t see their own over consumerism is both sad and amusing in this case.

We will put our autumn decor up this weekend. We have had most of it for years but I usually buy a couple of extra bits each year and my friend makes me a gorgeous autumn wreath as she very creative. She makes me one for Xmas as well.

As soon as I read the "August is the start of autumn" comment I realised I was wasting my time on yet another nutty MN thread where people didn't have a fucking clue.

@Greenlawnbrownlawn you do realise that according to the Celtic calendar autumn starts on August 1st…and that is what we teach in Ireland.

Begins on February 1st
Summer (Samhradh): May, June, July
Begins on May 1st
Autumn (Fómhar): August, September, October
Begins on August 1st
Winter (Geimhreadh): November, December, January
Begins on November 1st
