@BleefinbackBlean feels uncomfortable about the exchange and suddenly she is the problem for some. Not everything is black and white. This should be a supportive environment and there are ways of pointing out you disagree without calling someone 'unhinged ' and belittling them.
OP have a chat with him about how it's made you feel. Presumably he told you about it so hasn't taken it too seriously. It's good to clear the air and not let it fester.

I changed my mind on the "under any circumstances" once the circumstances were stated. It was very clearly a joke and the OP has taken it the wrong way because it was said to her own husband.

As a joke in response to "cake Friday", it's a bit of a non-sequitur, really. You'd expect perhaps something like "sounds perfect", or "I'm in", or something to show that you really like the idea of cake on a Friday.
She might as well have said "oh, are you a feeder?" - which would be equally weird.

This actually happened at a place I worked, tho the man was a manager not a director. The woman’s advances got more and more batshit but HR wouldn’t do anything (20 years ago). She drugged and SAd him, ruined his life.

I’m guessing it’s not what she said that was the problem for you but how attractive she is.

Only DH knows whether he hired her for her skills or looks.

However, I’m a strong believer in that most people can be taught how to do anything and so sometimes personality wins over skill.

The motive was cake. She doesn’t want the OPs husband. She just wants cake.

I think we need to know what type of business this is to decide. Perhaps he runs a bakery. If so, I’d take the threat more seriously.
