An advert pops up on my feed from M&S for crotchless thongs. Have I actually fallen asleep and am dreaming ?! WTAF is M&S thinking?!! They appear to be stocking Anne Summers-talk about rebrand of underwear dept!

I pray they start selling a matching peekaboo bra, just for for the comments.

For those in the “this is disgusting” brigade, you do realise you have helped run the best advertisement for S&M M&S since their Xmas ad don’t you. 😀

I think people on here haven’t realised that M&S rebranded a while ago. Their buyers are former Topshop buyers now.

You can get male underwear that is basically strings, or ties across the front, or is backless, or...

They're catering for the male gaze too.

I would consider them as a strangulation risk for my dog ! She always grabs my pants and rolls on them if they are left on the floor 😂

I hardly think crotchless thongs are designed with comfort, practicality or even hygiene in mind.
Poor menz though. They need to be comfortable in their undies and no reason they should offer titillation via special sex pants themselves because sex is all about them anyway.

I bought the normal nude seamless thongs to wear under white trousers. They’re really flimsy and like they just seemed to squeeze up into me 😟 open to suggestions for nude seamless thongs from elsewhere?

Absolutely no idea. Not sure I have ever been in the men's underwear section at M&S.

My husband used to buy me thongs many years ago..then complain because I didn't wear them..so I bought him 1 and made him wear it for 30 mins..hence...all thongs in the bin ..he said he's never had a bit of string trying to hibernate before and never wants to ever again..bless him he passed 2 Yr ago and I miss him every day..

if the company thinks it will make them profits or at least give the name advertisment etc then it sells, usually a company does not not sell products if profits can be made just because a few may go oh not m and s selling ann summers type products

I can't help wondering if this is going to come back to bite them. I remember 20+ years ago when M&S suddenly decided that they needed to appeal to a broader customer base and introduced bargain price ranges that other shops were selling. They totally confused their marketing message, alienated their core customer base who wanted to pay more for guaranteed quality and no longer trusted the other ranges were going to deliver that, and their sales bombed.

I wouldn't be surprised if lingerie sales fall because their core customer base of women subconsciously or consciously won't want their knicker buying linked with Ann Summers and those who like this stuff won't want it linked with the day to day ordinariness and unadventurousness of M&S

If you think crotchless knickers are only worn by swingers you’ve lived a very sheltered life.

It doesn't really matter if people like the idea or not, it's puzzling the level of outrage from some people about them.

I’m old and I swear society has become increasingly prudish over my lifetime.
