AIBU to admit to sister that DH probably vandalised her bathroom but wasn’t responsible for all of it?

Last night we went to my sister’s for dinner. During the evening someone wrote “cunt” on the bathroom mirror in what appeared to be shit (turned out to be Nutella but obviously with it being the bathroom it was immediately assumed to be shit).

My sister was the one who found it and came marching downstairs demanding to know who had done it looking at DH and I. Obviously I didn’t do it and I don’t think she would have done it herself so that leaves DH and BIL. Personally I think BIL is most likely as he does childish stuff all the time, sister is fuming that I’m blaming him but both are denying it. AIBU to think it’s obvious that I’m going to believe DH over BIL??

As the evening went on someone threw wet toilet roll at the bathroom ceiling. I suspect this may have been DH but still he’s denying it. AIBU to tell sister that the toilet roll was probably DH but not the mirror or would this just give her the excuse to blame him for both??

The whole post is so unreasonable.

This can’t be real. I don’t know a single adult who would do that

PinkNailPolish2026 · Yesterday 09:44

Oh it’s you again. Give it a rest.

LittleBearPad · Yesterday 09:45

If this is at all real your husband and brother in law sound appalling.

Funchythesnowwoman · Yesterday 09:45

@PinkNailPolish2026
Yep.

ilovepuppies2019 · Yesterday 09:47

What on earth? You sister should go no contact with the lot of you. The poor thing. Imagine putting up with such abuse in your own home. This would be disgusting from year 7s but the idea that grown men would do this is unbelievable. I assume neither of them work or are capable of working? I’d you believe your husband did this then I would suggest demanding answers, apologising profusely to your sister, paying the cost of repairs and then leaving your stupid husband promptly.

Ah, thank you.

YABU because you're behaving like 6 year olds. Grow up.

dayslikethese1 · Yesterday 09:49

Why would anyone do this?

SowWhatNow · Yesterday 09:49

What have I just read?

I would be livid if anyone did that in my house. They'd be out the door quicker than they could apologise.

This sounds like secondary school playground/bathroom behaviour, not fully grown responsible adults.

Mums net always has a magical way of letting me know that I’ve had enough internet for one day 😆

When did you get married? You were always the single sister. I'm surprised she didn't just assume it was you. Don't accept people's hospitality and disrespect their home. Some of your scenarios are 50/50, but occasionally it's you in the wrong. I don't know why she keeps trying with you.

DidYeAye16 · Yesterday 09:51

You are a very strange person op. You really need a hobby.

SerendipityCat · Yesterday 09:52

Oh Christ, not you again. Will you and your family ever grow up and start behaving like rational adults?

CorvusNoir · Yesterday 09:52

Who on earth behaves like that? This is a joke post, right ?

Fluffyscrubber · Yesterday 09:52

Your poor SIL.

ilbehonest · Yesterday 09:58
