AIBU to want my sister to leave my local crows alone?

I have been feeding a group of crows near my house and we’re just getting to the point where they wait for me now in a morning and come very close. My sister has decided she wants in on it but I’ve told her to go and find her own murder as I’ve put in all the hard work with these ones. I told her there is a murder across the way on the field she could do and feed.

this morning I was coming home from shop and there she was feeding Russel from my murder. I shouted at her and she shouted that they’re not my fucking crows, at the point a woman walking a dog walked past and tutted so sister shouted that they’re not my crows and I was shouting at her. The woman just carried on walking but this was right near my house!!

AIBU to think she should just go and feed the others???

Are you worried that Russel will prefer your sister over you? I'd be more annoyed at Russel, zero loyalty from crows these days.

Cherrysoup · 19/05/2026 13:10

This is ridiculous. They aren't 'your' crows and they have no loyalty to you. Do you live together?

HellsBells13 · 19/05/2026 13:10

WTF?😆

ConnieHeart · 19/05/2026 13:12

Sounds like you have worse issues than just her stealing Russel

SnappyQuoter · 19/05/2026 13:12

😂😂

SoScarletItWas · 19/05/2026 13:13

OMG you and your sister again!

You need some distance from each other.

Thingsthatgo · 19/05/2026 13:13

I love this! I also feed my local crows - they are mine now. I hoping that they will bring me shiny things in exchange for peanuts.
YANBU.

Arlanymor · 19/05/2026 13:14

You don't own wild animals. And by the way, shouting at one another is really not good for the peace of wild animals. And you can't spell Russell properly.

Manchegomango · 19/05/2026 13:15

Could you create a murder of crows on an AI bot so she has the opportunity to engage in the activities while glancing up at the window and seeing your murder for a more immersive effect

No im sick of her waiting for me to start something and then swooping in to take over.

Yes that’s what I was hoping for too, I’m making them a buffet at weekend in my garden and hoping once they’ve had they will frequent my garden and I can keep her away

Edited

I named him and I’ll spell it the way I want to spell it.

I wouldn’t know how to do that, I’m not very tech savvy.

I’m going to pet shop on Friday for wild bird seed but apart from that some fruit, nuts and dog food

You need to have a word with Russell, he's being very disrespectful to you. All youve done for him and the rest of the murder!

It's that or leave ltb!

guinnessguzzler · 19/05/2026 13:26

I only recently discovered the saying; 'A crow in a crowd is a rook, a rook on its own is a crow'. Are they definitely crows?

I agree. Russell wants to have his cake and eat it. He is overstepping!

Manchegomango · 19/05/2026 13:27

Well i heard that crows have photographic memories for human faces and can hold grudges and attack humans who have done them wrong. Since they have come to know and trust you, you could stage a scene whereby it looks like your sister is harming you, thus triggering the crows vengeance mechanisms. Basically, they will see her as threatening and will kot forget her face

OriginalPedant · 19/05/2026 13:27

Is this an attempt at humour? I can’t tell.

We have a posse of jackdaws in our garden. They swoop in twice a day like bullies. I really don’t care if others feed them.

Ok, just wanted you to know it was incorrect so that you don't make yourself look stupid in the court case for custody...

Well Russel came after I started feeding white chest, at first it was only ever white chest that would be there waiting but he started bringing Russel along and now Russel is one of my regulars. He’s beautiful, I think he’s quite young as he’s jet black and all shiny and huge. I suspect white chest is a lot older.

Cheryl likes to be fed from a distance but I’m working on her. To be honest it’s probably good that she’s a bit wary as sister will have a harder time getting close to her.
