No I’ve never seen that either, unless someone was saying that’s their basic hygiene. Which is very different to saying it’s everyone’s.
but I’ve seen so so many snide comments about women wearing make up. It clearly is something to do with the perception of attractiveness, hence the comment on men.
most women wear make up for them. Not men. Like wearing a nice outfit, or brushing your hair. Make up done right enhances our features, it is not paint. It is not to change our appearance. It is to enhance it.
I’ve good skin, I’m happy make up free, but I also love wearing make up. I know how to do it well, with good quality products, that enhances my features, flawless dewy skin with a hint of a flush, full lips, ( just lipstick close to my own lip tone) thick longer lashes, ( just with mascara) , brows filled in and tidied. I still looo like me, my face isn’t painted, but I look like a naturally flawless version of me.
and if that’s changing my appearance or painting my face, then cover me in paint and call me disguised. I’m all up for it. Does it mean I’m not comfortable in my own skin, of course not, that’s silly.
but I do think those who object and make snide comments, aren’t comfortable in their own skin they don’t perceive themselves as attractive and that’s the issue. If other women stopped wearing it they’d look less attractive and even the playing field.
